Meh, I ask a ton of questions.

The Xylonian Union was at its peak, as Kors Belin's economic reforms revitalized the long-stagnating nation. His 17 years of rule had seen the longest era of growth and commerce in the Xylonian Union, and it seemed to many he would reign all the way to his deathbed. His heroic image was promoted by the rise of private televisions and the Xynet (a heavily censored Xylonian version of the Internet), But there was trouble brewing even in this golden age of Special Economic Zones and a new creative renaissance, since the excess spending left them unprepared for the Great Crash of 300 (2000). as the excess inflation created excess prosperity, it all began to spiral out of control in the shipping industry as a mere drop in goods caused a large-scale economic collapse that cascaded across the nation. As the recession began, Belin refused to practice stimulus spending, even as extremist sections of the Communist Party were selected for the 301 (2001) session of the Politburo, the tenth since independence. In the Conference of Kolben, the capitalist and Nationalist factions decided to lead a charge together to destroy Belin's Moderates, in an effort that would end the Union. In March 2, 302 (2002) Baikal Nars declared a vote of no-confidence and impeachment. Even before the vote had succeeded in the 60-seat Politburo, Belin announced his resignation. Since the Xylonian Union had no double jeopardy, the charges that were filed for impeachment could not carry over to Belin's civilian life. Baikal Nars tried to seize the Commissar-Chairmanship, but Tentusyn Khayan was elected instead. As Tentusyn ordered a secret team to assassinate Baikal, he fled the city in fury to gather an army in Kolben. If he had been there, the civil war would have never occurred. But Nars survived to raise an army of pro-capitalists to his cause, and the Atunist Jahemans seceded to create their own country. The Xylonian Union itself was led by Khayan, who hoped for his generals to lead him to a swift victory. First Coalition (Jan 22 303- May 11 304) Khayan and the Jaheman leader Abdul Kazari both came to an agreement that Baikal Nars and his large army should be destroyed, and Jahema helped the Xylonian Union gather its forces on the other side of the nation's imposing mountain range. But they met Belin's men at the farming town of Tranzikm, and were surprised to find they had entered what was later described as a fish-in-a-barrel situation as artillery and tanks combined to surround the men. Frustrated by this early defeat, Khayan ordered a napalm bombing of Kolben, before sweeping down the mountains to lay siege to the important rebel city. before the siege was completed, Jahema switched its support to the capitalists and broke the siege for them. This victory crushed the Xylonian army in the west but also left Kolben in a weakened state. Second Coalition (May 11 304-June 14, 305) Baikal Nars and Abdul Kazari led the army across the central mountain range back down to the fertile Altosia district, where they began burning Xylonian farms. The march to Suyin was fraught with danger and difficulty as the troops braved rough forests and swamps to try and arrive in Suyin by summer. At this point, Khayan finally decided to begin a campaign of mass-scale bombings on Jahema to convince the coalition to break up as the Jahemans left to defend their homes. It worked, and by June the coalition broke up just as it was in sight of Suyin. Thus began one of the more terrifying phases of the war. Chaos' Reign (June 14, 305-Autumber 17, 307) With Xylonia finally divided into three states that lacked coalitions, Khayan pressed his technological supremacy to order warfare on a scale that amounted to butchery. He ordered frequent bombings all across the rebel cities, and accompanying it with heavy, merciless infantry charges. This was heavily censored by the government, fearing revenge from sentient rights activists. Khayan managed to severely weaken Jahema and made a sucessful move to destroy Kolben's food supplies. Four million of the war's five million causalities were made in this era of depraved fighting. But a journalist named Misha Alekandry saw this extreme era of violence and decided to end it. He filmed the carnage, and made careful measures to leave the country, enter unknown land, and then sail over to Canary. He snuck it into a compartment within his shoe and left the nation at nightfall, silently sailing for two weeks before providing the images to Canary. Fearing international retribution, Khayan stopped his total war strategy and began talks. A Slow War (Autumber 17, 307- November 4, 308) With Xylonia once again complying with sentient rights, the nation began to enter negotiations, and Kors Belin came back out of obscurity to negotiate the peace. But Khayan had long since given up on the concept of victory, instead fortifying his positions and waiting for the negotiations to end. the treaty recognized Berian (Kolben) and Jaheman independence in exchange for a common market and infrastructure. Thus, one of the darkest times in Xylonia was over. Edited by Atulke, Jan 25 2014, 12:49 PM.
