Emperor Dmytro Pronounced Dead
 |
by Pavel Damiski | 327 | Imperisto, Medo-KubanizaDmytro Bukanko, the second of his name, was pronounced deceased by the Bukanko family's personal doctor within the Hetman's Palace at 12:34 a.m. Dmytro had just returned from a state visit in Syntreal a few short days ago. The tsar's sudden death suggests that his health was in far worse condition than the public had been led on the believe.
Dmytro led the Kubanizan, and then the Medo-Kubanizan, nation through a time of much change. He began his rule as hetman of the Kubanizan Hetmanate and ended it as the emperor of the Medo-Kubanizan Empire. He defended his country during the destructive East Uroca War against the unprovoked assault of Lanlania and Sainam, and expanded Kubaniza's diplomatic relations. He began, in conjunction with King Vicarian, forged an overseas empire in Makorland, and founded the Medo-Kubanizan Empire.
His reign will be remembered throughout history for his role in forging this Nation. His son, Kryshtof Bukanko, is now effectively Hetman of Kubaniza and Emperor of the Empire. His coronation is planned to take place after the funeral. |

War in Abėrė Begins
 |
by Pavel Damiski | Imperisto, Medo-KubanizaIt's official: the war for Abėrė has begun. The Aureterran nation is now going to face the onslaught of Akitsan, Goldecian, Carpathian, and Hahkallahan military forces. The Abėrian government has predicted that 90% of all casualties taken will be civilian, while the Carpathian InfoNET news organization has claimed that the Abėrian forces are using human shield tactics--all of which further supports the fact that there will be significant civilian casualties before this war is done.
The Emperors' Press Director has continued to call for an immediate cease to hostilities and for negotiations to commence, scolding both Carpathia and Abėrė for impeding negotiations. "This situation could have all been avoided in the first place. We do condemn the Kingdom of Abėrė for their actions against foreign nationals within their country, but we also scold the other side for their rush to war." The Press Director went on to say that the imperial government also commends Aurentina for being level-headed in asking for a peaceful solution.
"The Medo-Kubanizan Empire does not intend to get involved on one side or the other," the Press Director reminded the nation, stating that the Empire does not wish to involve itself in a "Nysan mess." |

"Lost Tribe" Discovered Underneath Mount Bonavitta
 |
by Pavel Damiski | Reverum, Medo-KubanizaA complex underground city is the last thing that two young explorers, Freidon and Garrey Telmos, were expecting to find when they decided to go on an exploratory adventure through a vast underground cave system underneath Mount Bonavitta. The Bonavitta Cave System is massive and largely unexplored, perhaps the reason why no one has found this site before.
When you hear underground city, you might think it's an abandoned relic of past civilizations, silent and lost to time. However, the catch here is that this "city beneath the mountain" is inhabited. Yes, that's right: people live here. "We were just, like, expecting to find cool stalagmites and stuff, you know?" Freidon said. "Yeah, but instead we find like this lost civilization. It's so cool, dude!" his brother Garrey explained. The two brothers managed to escape from the cave system undetected by its dwellers. After alerting local authorities, they led them back to the cave entrance. Surprisingly, they found one of the lost city's inhabitants at the cave entrance. Not wanting the man to alert his compatriots, they convinced him to come with them to a secure location.
After an hour of conversation--or attempted conversation--they discovered this his language was much like a nearby tribal Medlav language, and so with the help of a Medlav speaker were able to communicate. The information gathered from him was invaluable about learning more of the lost city's inhabitants. The lost tribe call themselves the "Gristoe", and are led by an elder who takes the name "Jonnee Gristoe" upon his ascension to leadership. The Gristoe tribe is believed to have between 300 and 500 members, all supposedly living in sophisticated underground complexes. It is unknown how they are able to feed themselves.
During the course of the questioning of the man, he became increasingly hostile and eventually attacked his questioners, forcing the police to shoot him. Some Medavean Senators have attacked the local authorities' handling of the situation and are said to be drafting a bill to make the Bonavitta Cave System an imperial reserve--forbidden to outsiders. "We wish to preserve the Gristoe people's isolation. Sudden contact with the outside world could seriously destabilize their society and possibly kill them with diseases they have no immunity to," one Senator stated. "So until we know more about these people we should refrain from attempting any further contact with them." |

The Great Entente Makes a Come-back
 |
by Daecar Montyrn| Daecos, Medo Kubanizan Red Palace On that day the 20th of March calls had been dispatched to the former members of the Great Entente, a once strictly binding military, diplomatic, and economic pact that fermented relations between the original founding states of Ritterschild, Batavia and the Medo-Kubanizan Empire. After a some time of decision the word got back from the former members that a restoration of the old pact would be in the best interests of each of the former member-states, and with those words came once again the Great Entente in Capresia. To mark it's true return leaders of each of the member-states decided to dispatch several fleet groups to the Landaran sea where joint naval drills are to be held to not only begin the first in a long run of group drills and training's between the alliance as a whole, but to also mark the return of the Great Entente to the Oracian political spectrum. Recently member-states within the Great Entente have agreed to lightening many of the tensions that once followed the treaty and allowed it to be far less strictly binding and more-so based on co-operation and friendship than that of it's former purpose; mutually assured defense against an oncoming threat from any number of the Empires' former rivals.
Meanwhile Aemerions in Medaveii and in Aemeria mark the eighth anniversary of it's founding and celebrate throughout the nation as Aemeria begins to make a return in both population but also habitability as new crops and fields are planted and the old ruins of the island rebuilt as they had been some several thousand years ago. In Makorland, tensions that once existed between the Medo-Kubanizan Empire and the Almananian Union begin to become more smooth and calm as deals are struck between the Almananian presence in the provinces surrounding the Makori state to the north, and after finally coming to an agreement politicians, military personnel and citizens alike have all seen and observed the subtle calming down of the almost violent situation in the state of Makorland. With less tension on her borders the Medo-Kubanizan Empire begins to start negotiations with other Great Entente member-states on ways to improve the treaty and actively get other member-states involved in the inner-workings of the union by agreeing to send military personnel from one member-state to another for training purposes and additionally by increasing the level of economic, military and diplomatic co-operation between one member-state and the others. |

Rumours Confirmed?
 |
by Rolyn Visentrix| Imperisto, Medo Kubanizan Empire Looking back this year we have seen the return of the Great Entente's presence and activity in the world we know today, however little could have imagined what efforts leaders from two different areas of Caprecia were speaking of behind the closed doors of government buildings throughout the capital this month. After rumours escalated throughout the nation of Angiris early this morning government officials from both the United States and the Medo-Kubanizan Empire have had numerous and lengthy talks concerning the independence the United States has retained from many of the modern Caprecian alliances up to this point and what a place in the Great Entente could serve to help the United States and the other member-states of the Great Entente in addition.
With the talks between United States officials and the representatives from the member-states of the Great Entente, the conclusion was soon drawn and released that the United States would sign the treaty and join the several other nations within the Great Entente in protecting and serving to increase the level of military, economic and diplomatic co-operation between the United States and the other member-states including Ritterschild, Batavia and the Medo-Kubanizan Empire. With these confirmed reports from government officials on both sides of the table, this furthers the Great Entente's reach into the region of Syntreal, Caprecia; further expanding and increasing the size and scale of the Great Entente as well as opening up a new gate-way for trade and co-operation between the United States and the other member-states of the Great Entente. |

Representatives Meet
 |
by Rolyn Visentrix| Imperisto, Medo Kubanizan Empire Only some time recently did the Great Entente welcome it's newest member, the United States of Angiris joined sides with the Great Entente, and on this day representatives from the member-states of the United States of Angiris, the Medo-Kubanizan Empire, the Republic of Batavia and Ritterschild convene in Imperisto, Medo-Kubaniza in the regular meeting of the Entente to discuss important additions to the treaty and several treaty alterations. However after receiving breaking news this afternoon that the Nysan nation of Aurentina may soon wish to become involved in the Great Entente, the agenda for discussion was soon expanded for incoming members into the sphere of the treaty. Further-more during a brief intermission Guardian reporters were able to get an interview with someone attending the meetings, yet not a representative of the current member-states.
After a brief interview with the said representative, he admitted to be attending on behalf of the nation of Aurentina in order to gather information on how the meetings of the member-states run and how they operate. Without giving a name or further information the representative retired to the cafe in the assembly complex. So, could it be possible that in the near future the Great Entente may begin operations outside of Capresian nations and stretch overseas to Nysa? Only time will tell... |

Czar Kryshtof Responds to Escalating Myeongju-Daguo Tensions
 |
by Pavel Damiski | Imperisto, Medo-Kubaniza"The situation between Daguo and Myeongju is disturbing," Kryshtof Bukanko replied when a reporter asked him to comment on the escalating crisis between the two nations. "Relations between them have never been good, but I believe that this current bout of violence could lead to war." Myeongju and Daguo have had a long, rocky history between them, beginning with Myeongjan independence many years ago. However, recently it seems that the built-up tensions between them is coming to a boiling point.
When asked about the new statistics showing a 45% increase in executions in Daguo, the czar said, "This, along with the executions of 120 members of their own parliament, is highly disturbing. The execution of the leadership of the Daguon Communist Party appears to be an attempt to provoke the government of Myeongju." After the Daguon government enacted the Mandatory Death Penalty Act, the crime of corruption was made punishable by death.
"I want to encourage both sides to take a step back and calm themselves before a major conflict erupts in Zaroca," the emperor said in his closing remarks. |

Government Responds to Massacre in Pravomoc
 |
PRŁMYSLOVÉ - The streets of Prłmyslové, Pravomoc are stained with the blood of government and rebel fighters as the civil war in that country breaks out, but the floors of the International Hotel are also stained with the blood of its foreign guests. The People's Party for the Red Star, the Pravomoc Communist faction, has claimed to have found the bodies of 56 foreign nationals, including 30 from Angiris and Mestra, and 6 from Medo-Kubaniza. The PPRS claims they were killed by government forces holed up in the International Hotel, while the Pravomoc national government claims the deaths were at the hands of Communist rebel fighters.
Meanwhile, the United States of Angiris--a fellow member-state of the Great Entente--announced its intentions to begin taking military action against Pravomoc in retaliation for the several Angirisian citizens murdered. Czar Kryshtof announced that he was calling a special meeting of the Entente Council concerning the recent developments in the war-torn Syntrealite nation, and invited the President of Angiris and the heads of state of Batavia and Ritterschild to attend.
"We join our friends in Angiris in mourning for our lost countrymen," Kryshtof said, "and we offer our deepest condolences to the families of the victims." |

"We Stand With Batavia" Says Kryshtof
 |
IMPERISTO - Speaking to the entire nation today, Emperor Kryshtof reiterated the Medo-Kubanizan Empire's support for their Great Entente ally; the Batavian Commonwealth. "We stand with Batavia. We have proved that unwarranted Carpathian insults and threats against free Caprecian nations such as Batavia will not be accepted. The Batavian government's offering of aid and support to the neighbor of a violent and unstable regime in northern Cardohesia is met by unwarranted threats and the seizure of the rightful property of a significant number of Batavian citizens.
"The Carpathian government and its Dictator need to learn that Caprecia is not their stomping grounds. Meanwhile, I would like to welcome Batavia to the so-called 'Axis of Evil' club of nations--that is, nations that Carpathia deems to be too independent and different from their own warlike government to be acceptable in their eyes. Their gross hypocrisy is obvious when they claim that Batavia's response to their economic and diplomatic assault is exaggerated. It was not too long ago that they threatened sanctions and even mentioned war against Deltoria for putting down destructive riots. The Batavian president's request for war powers for defensive purposes is understandable considering Carpathia's record." |

Directorate of Foreign Relations Issues Warnings About Certain TA Countries
 |
IMPERISTO - The Directorate of Foreign Relations, a directorate of the Ministry of State, has issued a warning to all investors to not invest in the Socialist nations of Western Cardohesia, United Chieftains, and Carpathia & Moldova. This comes soon after a similar warning from the Batavian Commonwealth's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "We have decided that it is within the best interests of not only the citizens of this nation, but those of other nations, not to invest their money in these nations," the Director of Foreign Affairs declared. He cited "economic oppression of foreigners" as being among the chief reasons. "We advise all Medo-Kubanizan businesses or investors which may have assets within these nations to pull them out as soon as possible. It is not in the interests of any business to have their property illegally seized from them by these Communist governments.
Recently, the government of Western Cardohesia announced the nationalization of all foreign-owned assets, setting off a firestorm in the Batavian Commonwealth--which was also economically attacked with similar seizures by Carpathia & Moldova. This has also brought attention to the very Communist economic policies within the United Chieftains--a neighboring state to Western Cardohesia. |
