Succession Crisis Looming in UK of Tropico and Westerwent
Edition: 1
Vernil 16, 321
Written by Lomarren Correspondent Silvestro Conti

Trivenze, Lomarre | In the United Kingdom of Tropico and Westerwent (GA09) King Alonso d'Lucca and Queen Anastasia Sonovic have gotten into a serious and life threatening car accident last evening. The Couple married two years ago after the two small nations just on the Lomarren border united.

Alonso is a relative of the King of Lomarre, and Stefano has sent out his grievances to the family. However, with no children between the couple, a succession crisis may loom. The King's brother, Dominic, is married matrineally married to Countess Margareta Haggia-Scarte. Dominic would most surely go for Tropico's crown as he is the prime candidate.
Anastasia represents the Czuss ethnicity, a mix of Austlenburgian and Laddneian. (Think Czech; Germanic Slavs. :P) The next in line to the Westerwent throne is much less visible, however her older sister, married to a Westerwent General is the prime candidate.

Time will tell on the situation. We, at ADN, do not wish to speculate on the future, especially as the nation and family of the monarchs hope for a recovery. We, at ADN hope for a full recovery of the couple and a return for a more peaceful Galdea.

Other News to Note

  • The Uranium Stalemate continues to unfold, however, Lomarre's economy may remain salvageable with buyers in Galdea needing Coal and Oil.
  • The War on Poverty has begun, said the HLE's foreign minister. Caprecians however, are skeptical of this. It's assumed that this is just another reason for the HLE to expand.
  • The Oracian Hockey Tournament is expected to resume after issues with a network scandal.

Olsanburg, Austlenburg| Wurberg Airways has finalised a deal to buy 45 new generation SU-570 planes from Sainamese aircraft maker Saiku worth A15.2 billion Acrons ($15.7 billion Caprecs), the two firms announced on yesterday.

The order was first announced as a commitment at the Herlev Airshow in late 328.

Wurberg added on Wednesday that it had agreed a commitment for 50 more of the long-haul fuel-efficient passenger jets, which if exercised would bring the total order value to A33.25 billion at list prices, the airline announced at the Brumaggen Airshow

As well as buying up to 100 passenger jets, Wurberg said it intended to purchase four SU-570 freighter planes with an option for four more. In total, the entire package is worth about $38 billion to Saiku.

“The Sauku 570 will be the backbone of our fleet and is highly amenable to the standards that have been envisioned so many years ago, and that Wuberg still upholds. We look forward to building on our legacy with the new aircraft.” said the airline’s chief executive Hadrian Bolstun.

Production of the new order is set to begin in 332, with first delivery targeted for 335. Saiku has seen about 300 orders and commitments from six customers for the SU-570 this year.

Wurbeurg also announced a shifting of it's hub to the Olsanburg-Meticus International Airport once expansion has been completed in two years time.

Lienes Goes "Ga-Ga" Over Batavia
Edition: 29
April 2 329
Written by Balzary Correspondent Benjamin Ne'Arton

Several of the new products in Marzo Etzens new line "Die Batavien"

Lienes, Balzary| A new product line from Campanian fashion legend Marzo Etzen is heavily inspired by popular fashion in the nation of Batavia, in the midst of a nation-wide obsession with Batavian culture.

"It's really very simple," Mr. Etzen said. "The youth - my primary buyers - are listening to Batavian music, they're eating Batavian cuisine, they're now going to be able to wear Batavian clothes. I am bringing them what they want." Social scientists have called this phenomenon a "cultural obsession" with everything Batavia. This isn't expected to last terribly long - nothing more than a season or two - but it is having on impact on the nations youth.

Notable social scientist Willem Grude says that this is perfectly natural: "We saw this exact phenomenon several times in the last several decades. First it was Oertha, then Montaria, then Lanlania, and now it's Batavia. This is a part of the globalization process as the youth learn more and more about foreign cultures. I for one have been to some of the new Batavian voedselhuis in downtown Lienes, and the food is good. That is one portion I believe will stay, similar to how Lanlanian pop music seems to have stuck around. What will be next? I can't be certain, but the youth will know it when they've seen it."

Arkaus Wins Oraciavision 329; Set to Host in 330
Edition: 30
Autumber 3, 329
Written by Denil Correspondent George Aldous

New Santos, Aurentina| The Confederation has won the latest outing of Oraciavision that took place earlier this week in the state of Aurentina. "Viva da Vira" by Play'n'Cold was the Arkausan contribution which earned over a hundred votes from the participants. Play'n'Cold has seen widespread public appreciation throughout the Confederation in the last several weeks when it was noted that they were to be the contribution for the international music event. Play'n'Cold music has seen a marked increase in sales over the last several weeks, no doubt due to their participation in the event.

In line with the rules of the event, the winner hosts the next event, and the committee in charge of the Confederations Oraciavision contribution has already accepted the opportunity to bid. No official host city has been announced yet, but potential hosts include Vespucci, Fenridge, Aetinheim, Lordsport, Lienes, and San Mariner. An announcement is expected after the committee meets with potential host venues. Many are curious as to how the committee will react to the Confederations planned ten year anniversary next year, and many pundits are predicting the event to take place in the late fall to coincide with founding day celebrations.

Other News to Know

  • Foreign Affairs Councillar Edmund Lisle: While we support the Batavian Republic in its endeavors and harbor little appreciation for the regime in Bucharest, we do note with dismay that both Batavia and Carpathia & Moldova see it fit to so easily and rashly contribute to potential hostility.

A King and Queen in Love?
Edition: 31
December 9th, 329
Written by Lomarren Correspondent Silvestro Conti

Trivenze, Lomarre | Just this week, reports of the Queen of Andreas visiting Lomarre and Austlenburg multiple times have come under scrutiny under Andreas' own communist party. But it seems like the party will have nothing to complain about now with the reasoning behind the extended visits. Queen Saba II and King Stefano IV are in a relationship it seems, which is filling gossip magazines all across Galdea and Noctur. The relationship was proven today by the King himself, who said that, "Monarchs are people to, and we seek to find love just like everyone else. It's been hard since the divorce, but I've found new love. I can thank Hadar for that." King Stefano's comments seem to be about his divorce from Alexandra 4 years ago. She herself has found a new husband while Stefano has been waiting. It would seem he waited for Lady Saba, Queen of Andreas, the island Kingdom of Caprecia.
This relationship, if it was indeed to escalate to a marriage, would be the first personal union for Lomarre since the United Kingdom of Lomarre-Austlenburg was disbanded two hundred years ago. However the Personal Union would be so in name only with both monarchs having their own heirs. However, it would seem both Saba and Stefano aren't out for it to be a political marriage. Polls are for this relationship, with 88% in favor compared to Stefano's previous wife Alexandra who had 54%. Many point to the religiousness of Lady Saba and Andreas as a whole, who are staunch Hadarists much like Lomarre. Alexandra as well as her royal family were atheists infact, which worried some people.

Nonetheless, We here at the Arkausan Monthly congratulate the High-King of Lomarre and Queen of Andreas of this announcement.

Other News to Note

  • Lomarre's delegates at the Alumnary move forward to put strict sanctions and an embargo on Carpathia, which is gaining much support.
  • Lomarre's head delegate in the Alum, Rafelo Seliguio state, "Damara naming a warship class after herself, before she is out of office is just a political move so she'll be remembered as the AC's best leader. Luckily, history will remember her as a mere mediocre one."
