The Monarchist
[ * * * * * * * ]
Plot:
It is the year 321 RE, and the newly democratic state of the Dahlkive is still gripped in struggles for dominance in the power vacuum that formed since the monarchy relinquished its supreme power over the nations politics just three years ago. While a parliament has existed for some time, it was considered nothing more than a puppet of the monarchy - which also directly held executive power till 319 when it was given up by Freya I, just weeks before her death. And it is into this power vacuum Kyrr inherited the throne.

It is this newness of democracy that Kyrr has struggled to keep a hold on, and now on the eve of the second election in the history of the Dahlkive, opposing political ideologies are close to pulling the country in half.
Kyrr however comes up with a plan to stop the strife that could otherwise rip the country into pieces, and capitalises on the one policy all the parties can agree on - aggressive imperialism.

The idea is to propose before the government the conquest of a nearby nation on east Galdea/north Theron, the Kingdom of Eris (TW02 and 03). And should any of the parties reject the proposal, they would lose their followers for betraying one of their loudest demanded policies, but at the same time should they go through with the imperialism they will lose just as many followers for dealing with the 'enemy', the opposing political parties. Promptly, Kyrr will have them stuck between a rock and a hard place, with the hope of cooling down the heated politics.

However all this provides the invasion of Eris works out, which itself will have profound emotional consequences for Kyrr when he gets to close to an Erisian and finds out just what suffering his little plan inflicted on the people of Eris.

The Political Parties
- On one side of the political spectrum of the Dahlkive, you will find the communist People's First Party. It has gathered the poor in opposition to the perceived 'evil' of the 'elitist monarchy and aristocracy', and wants to usher in a new society without either group.

- In reaction to the People's First Party, the Golden Party has formed among the rich, titled and landed, with a membership ranging from successful businessmen to the historical nobles and the agricultural magnates that own much of the countries land. It began as a knee-jerk reaction to the threat of communists, who unexpectedly catapulted to popularity in the last election run up, but has since formed its own ideology and primarily pushes subtle for the return of noble rights, the maintenance of the status quo in relation to social issues and is also staunchly capitalist free market party, described sometimes as laissez-faire even.

- The third ideological group to gain significant popularity in the Dahlkive is the Truth Party, an ultra-liberal group which is perhaps the smallest of the three but still significantly large to hold merit. They are the newest party, who only entered the field this election and formed primarily from the highly educated members of the middle class, such as academics, accountants, lawyers, and medical professionals from people who were disillusioned with the status quo of the Golden Party but had read or witnessed what communism ended in. They proclaim to promote secularism, sapient rights, the strict regulation of capitalism and most controversially imperialism as a tool to deliver their proclaimed freedoms to the rest of the world.

Uhh...have you looked into a rebel RPer? I'm assuming the bit where he gets to close to an Erisian will be a focus? Looks fairly fine; just be sure its a splendid little read. ;P
