Kubanizans are by a vast majority followers of Thecianism, with approximately 98.5% (316 RE) of the population being Thecian. Religion plays a huge role in everyday life in Kubaniza, and many laws have religious origins. Though a less extreme form of Thecianism is dominant in Kubaniza than in Deltoria, one of the only other Thecian-dominant states in Caprecia and also the largest one. Thecian Kubanizans are known for being extremely zealous in their beliefs.

Laws

Many traditions and laws governing things such as marriage, abortion, sex, gender roles, etc. come from religion. As a few examples, the lowest age two can marry at is 17, but marriage at 17 is a rare occurrence. Homosexual marriage is illegal. Abortion is illegal, and doctors who perform abortion are tried as first degree murderers. In society, joining the military oftentimes comes from a feeling of religious duty, i.e. a duty to defend Thecian Kubaniza from its enemies and to fight for Thecian Kubaniza against infidels, as well as a strong fighting tradition in Kubanizan society.

Adultery is also considered a crime, as being unfaithful to your spouse is seen as proof that you are unable to be faithful to your country or to Hadar. Crimes committed on a holy day are punished more severely in several hrefstvos.

Men and Women

Women were historically forbidden from military service, but during the East Uroca War, which lasted from 298-301, the military opened up non-combatant roles to women. In contrast, Kuban men have historically been part of a very war-like society fueled by religious zeal. Much of this male-dominated society survives in modern day Kubaniza.

Charity

On the other side of Kubanizan tradition, caring for the elderly is considered a must, as well as giving to charity. Charity programs are very popular in Kubaniza as people try to look out for their fellow Thecians. The rich are expected to give much to charity as Hadar has gifted them with their abundant wealth, so they must give back to society and their fellow Thecians.

The Church

The Archpatriate of Kubaniza, which is elected nationally by a congress of patriates, equstés, and sacretés, is very influential among the nobility and the government overall. Patriates, equstés, and sacretés are considered to be representatives of the Thecians of their communities. Therefore the archpatriate is considered to be a voice of the believers of Kubaniza, and his word can be very powerful.
