(A little flashback to satisfy the Ministry) Over the few months I had inherited my father's position of leader of Vita, I had learned of several secret venture he had done in his last months. He had devoted large portions of the budget to creating a small launch complex west of Terra along the Vitarian northern border. As soon as I figured out that he had done so I requested that I be updated on it's progress so that I may continue what he set out to do. Put a Vitarian into the cosmos. Over the next couple of months I gathered all of the reports and read as the complex finished up being built in secrecy. Sooner or later it would have to go public, so a day before it was finished I grabbed my personal assistant and ordered a press conference which would be followed by my departure for the facility. "Dear Citizens of the Vitarian Republic, I called this conference to inform you of the actions my father took in his last days with us. He had devoted most of his life as Grand Elder to get a Vitarian into the cosmos. In his last days, seeing that he would not be able to accomplish this he set large sums of the budget aside to begin construction of the Vitarian Space Complex on the Northern border of our country. I will be heading there right after this meeting to ensure that the facility is completed and to inform it's leaders of their next assignment. Building the vessel which will take a Vitarian to space!"I ended the press conference and quickly boarded my plane to the North. "Madam Chancellor?"my personal assistant knocked on my cabin door before entering into the dark room. I was couched laying up against my bed holding the bottle in my hand. Tears were escaping my eyes as I lay there thinking about my father's death. Seeing Josh had entered I tried to gather myself but I had no strength left in me. He got down and sat next to me. "Jaden..."he grabbed the bottle of wine and placed it back on the table. "Your not supposed to call..."I tried to act as the leader I was. He grabbed me and started lifting me to my feet. "Jaden, you were thinking about your father's death again, weren't you?"he asked me. I immediately began bawling out my already dried eyes and tried to comfort myself pushing in to Josh's chest. He wrapped his arms around me trying to bring comfort to my small nimble body. "He died right in front of me, Josh. Right in front of me. He told me to Complete what he hadn't been able to. I don't know if I can do it."I replied trying to stop myself from crying. He released me and guided me onto the bed. "Jaden, you are your father's daughter. He did so many things that people thought were impossible. If he could do those then you can do this."I stopped crying and looked up into his handsome and caring face. My tail curled around me while I sat on the bed looking up at him. "Really Josh do you mean that?"I asked him. He nodded and replied yes. Weary from the crying I lied my head onto the soft pillows. Sleep overtook me quickly with him sitting next to me. Vernil 5, 316 R.E. 5 miles outside Dalnus District Vitarian Space Complex "Madam Chancellor I didn't expect you to arrive so soon."I walked down the steps off of my plane onto the tarmac of the longest runway on the complex. Josh followed me closely as I crossed the runway to the Director of the Complex. I had awaken to him lying next to in my bed. I shook him awake and he quickly grabbed his things and got reading for the landing. "Director! How is the program coming along?"I yelled to get over the engines of my plane taxiing away to it's hangar. He motioned for us to follow him to the Launch Control Facility. Once inside he directed us to his office above the Launch floor. "Madam Chancellor, first off welcome to the Complex your father set into motion to build. Second off, I'd like to announce that the facility is at 100% and ready to support any launch vehicles the R&D boys give us."he announced the progress on the space program. I looked over at Josh and he retrieved from his bag a folder labeled Classified. I grabbed the folder and handed it to the Director. "Can you support this?"he studied the folder over and pulled out the blueprints. "Madam Chancellor, we are well more then equipped to support this."he informed me that my father's dream could be possible. I stood up and prepared to leave his office. "Good I want it done by January next year!"I informed him of his deadline. He just stared at me for a few moments before standing up. "Ma'am..."he tried to get a sentence out but I cut him off. "Director, January next year or I'm shutting you down."he hesitated but nodded and sat back down. I motioned for Josh and he followed me back out of the office. We departed from the facility straight back to Terra without a single word of the meeting or the night on the plane. Edited by Elizabeth, Aug 13 2013, 05:58 PM.
