Grand Elder Quarters

The room was dark except for the several candles placed around the grand bedroom of the Grand Elder. Over the past several months, his health had deteriorated beyond what Vitarian medicine could cure. Elders from the Councils had came to visit him in the past couple of months. But now for what was his last days, his family only had access to the grand quarters. For hours on end, the Grand Elder's daughter sat by his bedside comforting him and learning from him all secrets of the nation. As the only descendant of the Grand Elder she was the heir for his position as leader of the nation. Nearing the end of daylight she emerged from the room not lifting her eyes from the ground and walked straight out of the quarters toward the temple. By the time the other family members and closest friends had confirmed that the Grand Elder had died, she was passing the large doors that sealed the Council Chambers from the world.

She barged straight into the room past the Elder Guard which did nothing to stop her. They all knew what she was doing and what would come next. A silence came over the chaotic chambers as she made her way to the central podium. The assembled Elders watched her closely as she stepped onto the platform reserved for the Grand Elder. This whole event was televised for the whole nation to watch as she surveyed the whole room and took a deep breath. She spoke in the Language of the Elders taught to her in her early years by her father.
"Fax lata. Exoritur novus ductor."she uttered the ancient words slowly before grabbing the Grand Elders staff from the High Elder next to her. The room erupted into chaos as she lifted the staff above her head and then slammed it onto the ground shattering it.
"A new beginning for this nation and all of it's people."her voice echoed throughout the room.

She went on with her introductory speech changing everything of the Vita Order. She changed her title to Chancellor and change much of the structure of the Order to more of a Republic then a society based on Honor. The Elders approved of these changes and then left the Chambers for their homes.
