December 24th, 314 R.E.

Celebrations all across Polas and so on were underway, people were dressed in thick clothes, jackets, and coats to keep the cold away, drinking warm beverages, and of course, working where they could to have fun within the ruined city as people went about their business, buying gifts from street vendors for their friends, loved ones, and children... why was this going on? Because it was Zaxmas, a combined tradition of both Human and Anthroa traditions into basically one happy, fun and peaceful time that one could truly be themselves, and not worry too much about the plights and worries of the world. Basically it was a time to forget, and enjoy life as it stood...

In Polar Square stood a massive pine tree, covered in ice and snow here and there, giving additional beauty to the decorations that were upon it... ornaments, lights, and tassle and twine all about the tree, at the top was a red star, glowing bright as a true star would in times like this... This year they decided on a star as a guiding light for the populace, instead of the usual Angel sounding the Trumpet of Victory.

Many had known events all about the city, but state guard did advise everyone to be careful of travel due to the likely collapse of structures here and there, and had outlined these danger zones for civilians and tourists - if any dared show - to avoid and hopefully not get hurt in the process.

The entire northern end of the city was marked as dangerous, which kinda depressed people to a point, but it was understandable... the place had been hit with AIRBURST bombs during the rebellion and Tyrian invasion, obliterating many areas of life in itself for blocks on end... and those that were still standing usually slowly decayed and fell in on themselves, which was the first project they needed to tackle when the gangs were all cleared out and taken away from the picture.

"Ahh... it's beautiful out here!" said Tisra as she walked along the street with her advisor and guards, looking about at all the people and shops as she wondered where to go first...

Meanwhile back at the Palace Tod was busy working on the new budget for the fiscal year, hoping to God that they would be able to have something left over to buy new guns, vehicles, and so on without a doubt for their own personal defense and well being. He however didn't spare himself from the pleasures and celebrations of the holiday, he had several presents for his sister, Tisra, the Queen... he wanted to see her happy, especially after the failed negociations with the Pacium Union which he hoped one day would be rectified... the only reason that he could damn well support her anymore was because she was Queen... he was her only lifeline, and if she was to step down, she'd lose him... because he would have to scramble to keep the country together and have no time to take care of a 14 year old girl that had been charged with ruling a country.

Overall, the country, not just Polas, seemed pretty happy and peaceful at this time in the year... the people of Sunia just honestly hoped that the other nations would join in the festivities all the way to the end of the year, but they seriously doubted anyone would dare set foot in a country like theirs... they didn't even have an immigration inflow, or international trade... all they had was what was left over from the war, and their economy? Well... lets not go there. At least the people were happy despite the plight and strife they suffered from.

It could only get better as the days and nights went by... or so they hoped.

As the celebrations went on, music began to fill the air, creating a melody that could be very well considered ancient as the Queen and many others wandered the streets of Polas, just having a good and grandous time in what little they had... it wasn't like that the country in itself was truly dead.

Tisra entered a coffee shop and decided to spoil her dinner by buying herself something sweet: chocolate and peanutbutter fudge swirl. She paid the barista and even ordered a vanilla chocolate coffee to help warm her body in the cold of the winter night. She wasn't one to drink coffee, but always found this order to be very warming, and sweet.

"Your majesty, shall we head back to the palace? It is almost getting to that time of night the hooligans come out..." asked the Advisor, Anderson.

"No dear, I want to stay out here to see the tree and experience a for once peaceful Zaxmas" she said as she walked out of the store, before heading toward the stage where the band that was playing the music was at, looking up and indeed, it was a purplish color in the two moons, a purple glow shining down upon the streets below even though they were made of different colors.

Anderson sighed and nodded a bit, following along before asking. "Are you still considering resigning?" he asked curiously.

"But of course I am... I know the price, but I have a feeling someone out there would want me... it's horrible to think that..." she said with a shake of her head as she sipped on the coffee and took a bite of the brick of fudge
