Outside Jurran, Meeting Grounds Four days before Meet, Khorada Khanate High Chieftess Aysilu sighs at the reports in her hands, the Meeting grounds below frantic with activity in preparation for the next Meet and with good reason. The Adrakhan meet was one second most important Meet of the entire year and it could make or break a new Khan's reign. After a new Chief becomes Khan the other chiefs must come forward and swear fealty to him, only when all the chiefs come forward is when the Khanate considered truly whole. And as of yet only three High chiefs and there underlings have come forward to join the Khanate, and one of them is the Khan. Many of Barjik Khan's proposed mandates to "Modernize" the horde has been met with heavy resistance especially those concerning the ending of raiding. The Clans have started splintering into alliances the largest being the Inokan alliance and the Khan's alliance. The Inokan have started resisting the Khan's rule trade that would usually flow from western villages have begun mysteriously disappearing and villages close to Inokan territory have been subject to raids from unknown riders. This meet was going to important because historically this is when Chiefdom's would swear fealty to the Khan or when a Chief would challenge his authority. And the word among the clan heads is war. A Chief may claim that Khora chose poorly in he host and challenge the Khan to mortal combat, but that would be the least of his problems the Inokan clan and it's allies could tear the Horde if they chose to secede. 'And I've been given the "honour" of organizing it all' Looking down at the Meeting grounds it could be clearly seen that the construction is near complete as the grand zhag tent rises to completion. Each of the most influential clans had there own temporary compound with their allied clans clustered around them. The buildings were all encircled around a single large fire pit with a raised platform made of sandstone above it where the clan heads and their guests would sit. There is where the clan heads would discuss politics with the Khan and probably where his authority would be challenged. The matters would not be helped by the fact that Barjik Khan had invited foreigners to reside in the Khan's palace as diplomats, and the proposal from the Mestran emperor for Korada to join his war of revenge. Though Barjik does have enough allies among the clan heads to strong arm an agreement, as long as he keeps the foreigners from the clan heads everything should be alright... right? |

Outside Jurran, Meeting grounds 2 days before Meet, Khorada Khanate "Your insane" Barjik Khan sat at the Shrine meditating as the in the Tyrell clan compound at the Meeting grounds. Khan had just told her that he had chosen to invite the ambassadors to the Clansmeet, why in the burning planes of hell would he do that? "I know what I'm doing" While Khan was in a state of near complete serenity, Aysilu was panicking and had starting pacing around him. Her aide had told her that Khan had was in their Clan's building, she assumed that it was some kind of inspection. Then he told her this. "No I really don't think you do" "It is the best for the Khanate" "This is the single most idiotic thing you've ever done" It was, besides when he charged the tank, or when he left for Mestra for schooling, then there's the saddle incident. Well it's in the top five anyway. "Know your place Chieftess" "Regardless this could get you killed" "I'm surprised at you, I'm doing what we always wanted" "Your my cousin and the Khan if you do this-" Khan stands from his meditation, he turns to his cousin and places his hands on her shoulders. "Ayilu I'm a grown man I've made built myself into what I am you don't need to come save me anymore" "You planned for this?" "No, but I knew the day would come where the chiefs would have to face the Modern world I just didn't expect it to be so soon or in this way This is proving to be a very interesting Clanmeet... |

1st Emissary Yukii Amano ensured he had brushed up on tribal customs, as well as dawned his own customary tribal uniform from So'Karsa. The tribe that Amano had come from was known as The Ia'Triv Tribe and they were renowned Roc riders, many times their riders would compete and win in the yearly Roc races. Those days were in the past now, and Amano, the once terrified youth now had to show the strength of not only his tribe but of all of the Republic. It was alot of responsibility to be thrust upon him but he knew he could handle it, and if things turned sour he was sure he could escape thanks to his two allies that were prepared to intervene if the winds changed. The region was warm, but not nearly as hot as the Sand Sea in So'Karsa, yet in someways it felt like home, a home before the Republic came and showed them a better life. That is exactly what the Khan sought to do for his people, give them a better life. So'Karsa would stand beside the Khan if he called for their help, something that may happen but the hope was for a peaceful transition from the old raider ways to the new ways that the Khan preached. |

Casimiro was slightly nervous about the Clansmeet. He had overheard some servants speaking about rumors that many chiefs didn't like the thought of foreigners among them much less dealing with them. Even so, he put on his best suit, that is, the one extra one he had brought along. The region was warmer than back home in Imonda, though he thought the'd be able to manage. Casimiro was familiar with some traditional Koradan greetings and a few customs of theirs, but not all too much was known about the Khanate - or, at least to him. So he spent the time he had in between dressing himself and the Clansmeet doing a bit of research on Koradan customs. |

Katherine Corza, the newly appointed Mestran Ambassador to Khorada was a strong diligent woman who had spent most of her childhood outdoors on excavations of ancient ruins with her father. She had been in a few fights in here time, and she had one all of them save one, but no one ever mentioned that one. Katherine sat reading up on Khorodan customs, she was fairly sure she could handle herself and represent Mestra and the Emperor's interests. She was surprised to receive a visit from the Emperor himself asking her to accept the appointment, how could she refuse? Now here she was sitting, anxiously awaiting the upcoming clan meet. She had to secure Khoradan forces for the Emperor, everything was riding on the securing of allies for Mestra. She hoped the chieftains would accept the aid deal, but she was unsure if a few of the factions would accept the modernization. |

The day for the Clansmeet had come. The Diplomats had been assembled, including the one who would bring the request from Nicholas. How would the Clans react he did not know. Khan finished his prayer and stood from his place in the center of Khor'chera in the center of his Palace. As he made his way to his chambers, he passed his children's rooms and saw each of them being prepared for the coming festivities, so few of them understand the importance of this specific meet. In his Chambers two servants rush forward to dress him, but they are waved off. "You are dismissed for the night go back to your quarters." After the pair leave Khan goes over to the clothes laid out. A Sea blue light robe that was far to small for him and a white hattah with a golden trim. Next to that a pile of jade and sapphire jewlry arranged in the way he was to wear it. On top of that pile though sits a golden pendant in the shape of a stylized war hammer. Khan continued gazing over it until he was satisfied with what Serah and Hande had picked out for him to wear. Then he shifted his gaze to the armor rack to his right, the ceremonial Chest plate of the Khan shining like the sun even in the poorly lit room. The helmet atop the rack is a golden round helmet inscribed with blue designs that goes from the base of the skull to the forehead; golden links spill from the back of the helmet to the shoulder of the chest plate covering the back and sides of the neck. The gold and black greaves are more flexible than riding greaves, but still filled their purpose aesthetically. The drawback of course being that they were no where close to being as protective. As he finished dawning the armor and began wrapping himself in the robes. As he finished putting on the hatta he turned to leave the room and join his family in the initial parade he stopped himself and turned to an old weapon rack on the wall. The massive rack was filled with an assortment of weapons from all over the continent that previous khans had acquired in their travels. He picked up the one that looked like his favorite piece of jewelry. |

The meet was fantastic, vendors from every corner of the Khanate, Riding hounds bred and raised to race in the track that's built in and around the Meeting grounds, the Chief's entourages displaying teh prowess of each tribe in bouts of showmanship. In the center of of all is The Great Pyre a single structure centuries older than any other for a square kilometer. ![]() The Khan and his family arrived at the Pyre exactly as the festivities began. From there the Khan led the foreign ambassadors into the Pyre and introduced them some of the Clan heads. The Tyrell and zhag, whom the Imondan ambassador had already met on the boat ride over, clan heads warmly welcomed the newcomers while the allied clan heads were more cautiously. After the short meet and greet Khan left everyone to there own devices, with a guard, as he addressed the Meet. The Meet kicked off with a race featuring the Khan's oldest, Culpah, on her albino Jeren hound as one of the lead riders. The festivities continued well into the night and as the roar of the crowd the other Clan heads started assembling at the Pyre for the discussions. |

When the moon neared its apex and the final Clan head came to the Pyre the True meet began. "I am glad to say that I have the pleasure to bring this clan meeting to a start" Khan announces as he sits in his throne in front of the Clan heads and there guests, the diplomats arranged beside him. Khan received a combination of looks ranging from admiration to open disgust. Each Clan head proceeded to pay respects to the Khan and in kind Khan greeted and complimented each. Khan opened his mouth to continue but a old man with and angry yet blind gaze raised his voice to interrupt him. "I find that it is most unusual that foreigners participate in this holy event." Another older man with long white hair stopped him, "Given the circumstances currently faced by the tribes I think we can make an exception." The man begrudgingly agreed and the tribes got to work, first they discussed how to end the feud between the Undrian and Grezor clans. After half an hour of arguing the two clan heads came to an agreement. Discussions like that went on for about two more hours, until later that night the inter clan politics was done and Khan rose to address the Clan heads. "Now I know many of you don't approve pf my gestures to the outside world but please understand that everything I d is in the interest of the Khanate, and now I would ask each ambassador to come forward and introduce himself to the Tribes." |

Casimiro decided that he might as well be the first one up, so he took a step forward. "I am Casimiro Helder, ambassador from the Imondan Confederation, representing President Claudio Ezequiel to the Khanate. In my country we have great respect for your people, and we wish that you would in return give us the same. We hope that through mutual respect for each others people and power, that we can create a stable region for all of us to live in." |

The So'Karsan representative stood up next, ensuring his tribal dress was well straightened before he spoke. "I am 1st Emissary Yukii Amano, representative of So'Karsa and a proud member of the Ia'Triv Tribe. The Republic comes before you to offer its aid in these changing times. We are a nations of tribes, city-states, and refugees. Yet we are united ,and we are strong, we want to help the great tribes of the Khanate to achieve strength and honor they'd never seen before. I come before you as a friend and an emissary of the Republic." Yukii bowed and stepped back. |

The Foreign ambassadors had seemed to make the assembled Khoran's agitated, especially the guests of the Inokhan Clan head. Even the Clan's allied with the Khan seemed disquieted by the foreigners. The White haired man looked to the Khan deep concern etched in his features, but Khan just held up hand in a sign of reassurance from his shadowed throne. Khan then nodded to the Mestran ambassador, he and her had spoken to great length before the Clansmeet about the Khanate's intervention in the war. And he had grown confident that the woman was competent enough not to get herself killed... you know probably.

Katherine Corza inhaled sharply before slowly exhaling. She stood and walked to stand before the assemble clans meet. "Realm of Khorada, great Chieftans I am Katherine Corza, ambassador of the Imperial Republic of Mestra. I come with the blessings of the Emperor who has commanded me deliver the following:' Katherine pulled a small letter from her pocket and broke the seal to indicate she had no idea what it said, she began to read, "Honorable leaders of Khorada, may the great hunt be upon you. I have sent my ambassador to stand before you to deliver this message. I request upon your great people their support in the War against the traitors of Corali. You may scoff at the idea of Khoradan warriors aiding a foreign power, but I assure you that this is in the best interests of all our peoples. Your men will receive modern military training and be supplied with the necessary equipment to bring Khorada into the modern century. We will grant to you machinery to help cultivate your fields, to produce energy, and open up our markets to you. Lastly, I as the ruler of Mestra, do now and forever forgive all actions and debt of the Great Clans of Khorada committed against or owed to the Mestran Imperium. We open our borders to you as friends, now and forever more." Katherine was startled by what she had read, forgiven actions and debts? She knew the Emperor meant the great raids committed by the Clans centuries before. It was a great device of politics to forgive what many nations still condemned, she wondered how the Chieftans would take the message. |

For a few moments the assembled Khoran's sat in silence, Khan gazed over his subfjects from the shadows of his throne with a steeled gaze. Ambassador Corza peaked up at the Clan heads and gaze a small smile. Then all hell broke loose. The Chiefs stood and started getting in each others faces, a few drawing weapons. The more elderly clan heads began pointing and screaming obscenities each other in their various dialects. Khan's and the Inokhan's clan allies already began to come to blows. Khan leaps forward and yanks Corza to the ground as a hand axe sails threw the air where her head once was. Khan then storms forward and pulls two armoured High Chiefs off of each other as he screams at them to stop fighting. Corza looks up at the melee dumbfounded, "This is barbaric!" One of the three Chieftess's in the chamber that was sitting next to the ambassador rubbing her temples responds, "Oh give'em a minute." The site of the Khan tossing around the two armored High Chiefs caused the blitz to quiet and stop. A tall man in silver armor steps out of the throng of people and approaches the Khan. "You dare bring these foreigners into this our most holy of events then you let them insult us with these pleas from the North. Perhaps Chief Iyliad was right you have been tainted by these supposedly civilized Mestrans." Khan took another step forward and confronts the dissenter, their armor shining off each other. "If you have a point Genghis then get to it." "I think Kora was mistaken in her choice, I think that you're not fit to rule over the Chiefs or have the honor of being in contact with Kora." Khan's glare could be felt emanating from the "Say it." "I instate the right of Jorhek'tar." The light murmurs that had permeated the Pyre chamber ceased instantly. The Clan heads and chiefs back away and form a circle around the two men. Khan turns around to face the Chiefs as he begins to address them. "What's wrong? Isn't this what you wanted I thought you wanted me gone. Well I accept and Who will stand with Genghis." At first the Circle remained unbroken, but then one by one the armored chiefs stepped forward. With the first few Khan remained standing confidently, but as more and more came forward the Khan's posture slowly became more nervous. At the end over half of the Armored chiefs had come forward and Khan muttered beneath his breath, "Oh I made a terrible mistake." |

Katherine Sorza began to panic, she hit the small button on her bracelet as she backed towards the other ambassadors. Now all she had to do was wait. In the distance, a loud boom could be heard but it was ignored by the confrontation on the floor. Katherine was close to the other ambassadors now, she knew what would happen. It was clear that the Khan's position was severely at risk, and while the Khan himself was logical in his desire to bring the Clans into the modern age, the remaining clan chiefs were ignorant, their way of life would soon die as the world pushed forward without them. What good was their armor when facing a tank or even a trained soldier with a gun? Before all hell could break lose again, lights filled the sky as loud sound rang throughout the theater. Above the landmark was a Mestran Dropship, a single rope descended from the ship and a single man came down to the ground. The man stood next to the Khan, his full height being utilized. He placed his right arm upon the Khan's left shoulder, as the Drop Ship pulled away from the landmark. "I will stand with you, my old friend, for as long as I am able." Nicholas Alexander, Emperor of the Mestran Empire, stood unarmed next to the Khan. Edited by Mestra, Jul 10 2013, 03:56 PM.

The drop ship was a bit startling but Nicholas dropping down next to him was downright... surprising. The circle widened slightly to allow the Emperor to have room. Khan turned to Nicholas his eyes widened behind the visor of his helmet. "Hello Nicholas, shouldn't you be fighting a war." |
