Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa January 27th, 315 RE Dr. Lexus had it, an idea that would fix most things. "Dr. I just had a brilliant idea, we can incorporate booster rockets into the main ships design, but we can design them to be smaller and here is why. If we modify a super heavy aircraft we can mount the ship on the back of the plane. Upgrading the engines on the heavy we can reach higher speeds and a higher altitude. The booster rockets will just be needed to accelerate the ship past the velocity of the super heavy, basically a piggy back into the atmosphere. It would save on the amount of fuel needed to launch the ship from ground level. Thoughts?" Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa January 28th, 315 RE "Yes, Dr. Lexus had requested one of our newest super computers and we have agreed to supply it for this endeavor. The problem we are facing is a location suitable for the system, and for that matter we would like to integrate more of our own systems and technology into a state of the art facility. We wanted to construct a brand new facility here in So'Karsa that would provide mission control and R&D. We can convert over old large scale factories into the main manufacturing facilities for the items needed. It would benefit both our economies and allow us to both share the burden of the program. Kitsuko, Flores February 12th, 315RE I.S.T.A. Tower was once going to be a office building, but the shear size and scale led to it being incomplete, and mostly a skeleton. With the joint efforts of the So'Karsan government, Future Tech Industries, Freedom Aeronautics, Synergist Industrial, The Kitsuko Technology Council, and the Mestran government it was changed into something new entirely. The site was being redesigned, and redeveloped with the best technologies of all the parties involved, the funding was high for the hope of achieving something neither nation had done before. The facility would be protected by a So'Karsan marine contingent, as well as be reinforced in several different ways. A massive bunker system was built beneath the surface where the Mestran Supercomputer was installed., as well as thousands of servers to aid in processing the additional data that the facility would be going through. The I.S.T.A. was also given command over nearly a dozen additional building that sat around the tower, several had once been small research labs that Future Tech Industries owned, or small office building that belonged to the Kitsuko Technology Council. The entire area was redesigned to show the world that a bright future of multinational cooperation could exist, and that the future couldstart now. Fort Ina'Gu, Si'Krivv March 15th, 315RE The ship had gone through the design stages and everything showed green with the model. The ship was going to have a duel engine system, one engine system for in atmosphere and consisted of a smaller booster rocket system to help the ship escape the gravity of Oracia after being carried to the proper altitude by a large high altitude plane. The second engine was an Ion Pulse engine, it was going to be powered by a nuclear reactor using the Synergist Industrial Electromagnetic containment field system to increase safety. The ship would hold a crew of eight people, and would be used for extra-planetary exploration, the releasing of satellites, and for construction projects. Now that everything had been decided on testing and construction could begin for the actual ship. ![]() Model of the XRS-01 (Experimental Rocket Ship) Dr. Irezami looked out from the command bunker at the first design of the booster rocket. The rocket in the final version would be powered by the Nuclear reactor, but this current one was being powered by the Forts nuclear reactor. The rocket was connected to the ground, and twenty feet from the surface, hundreds of instruments surrounded the engine checking for instability, power, thrust, potential problems with over powering, under powering, only one engine running. They had to see how the engine would handle when put in high stress issues. So far it was showing green, but there was one small issue that Dr. Irezami didn't like. When the engine was in low power mode, such as at the beginning of turn on, and at shut down it sucked a large amount of power, well over 2x the amount when it was running at peak stress. It may be a small issue or a major one, when the initial tests were over she'd go over the information and check it over and over again. Efficiency was a major focus for the entire process, and so long as the Mestran government could design the plane to get them in the upper atmosphere all was going to go well. |

Fort Ina'Gu, Si'Krivv March 23, 315RE Dr. Lexus, and Dr. Konmynn had been called to Fort Ina'Gu by the head of the I.S.T.A. Special Projects Committee Dr. Irezami. The two scientists exited the plane soon after it landed at the fort itself. The Fort was partially above and bellow ground and covered a huge region of land. It had been used during the development of nuclear power and has since become the official testing and development location for all of the Republics new toys. A simple military Humvee was awaiting the doctors upon exiting the plane. "Greetings Dr. Lexus, and Dr. Konmynn, if you'll get in the vehicle we can get you out to the Command Bunker for the engine testing facility. Dr. Irezami is excited to see both of you." "Of course, of course! I'm well aware of her excitement, ooh how sweet it will be to see all these grand designs! I am so Excited! Aren't you Dr. Lexus?" |

Fort Ina'Gu, Si'Krivv March 23, 315RE Dr. Lexus had gotten use to the hustle that was always going on around her. She glanced down at her badge which had her picture, name, title, and of course the ISTA logo. She was proud to be apart of the ship's design process. She was glad her knowledge of aerodynamics was becoming increasingly useful. She had completed the modification designs to the Super Heavy aircraft dubbed 'Titan'. Now here specification for the new engines had to be built and tested before they could be strapped to the prototype plane. All was going well. She was excited to see Dr. Irezami. "I am most excited Dr. Konmynn." She smiled before getting into the humvee. |

"Excellent, Excellent, so lets stop this dilly dallying and go see these new engines!" Dr. Konmynn hoped in the humvee followed by Dr. Lexus. The Humvee quickly rode off towards the far edge of the complex. As they drove signs of new construction surrounded them, but the landscape was still dominated by the barren desert. The craggy and rocky terrain the fort was built on was part of the outer desert, but as you went deeper you entered the Sea of Sand. The Fort had been involved in the Tribal War that occurred soon after the Imperial War and it still showed some signs of the battle, mostly abandoned sections, though many had been repaired and re-purposed since the increase in technological research by the So'Karsan government. The humvee slowed down and stopped behind a small tunnel entrance with a steel door securing it. "Doctors, you'll follow the tunnel straight through. It will lead you directly to the testing bunker which is about a half-mile east, the second class will escort you to the building." A soldier hopped out of the humvee and opened the door leading to a barely lit tunnel. "Oh goody, more secrets and surprises." Spoke Dr. Konmynn as he attempted to lead the way. After a few minutes ofw alking the Second Class opened a second door leading to the large three level bunker. Beyond the door were hundreds of computers each manned by a scientist or researcher, each one working on the data from the different engines. Dr. Irezami walked up to the three. "Greetings, and welcome to Bunker Alpha-3." |

Fort Ina'Gu, Si'Krivv July 5, 315RE The rockets had complete the tests, and the ship ha begun construction. It would be completed in early November, and represent a monumental change to the way most So'Karsans saw the world. With construction underway for the ship, so to now was the transfer of the high altitude carrier craft that would bring the Space Craft into launching range. The world was changing and So'Karsa meant to help it along. |

Carson, Mestra August 23, 315RE Final testing on the new engines were underway for the super heavy airplane. The engines were being mounted to the re-enforced wings and the mounting dock had been completed successfully in a few days testing would begin on drones to determine if the system and its safeties functioned at 100% efficiency. The plane itself was a former cargo plane that had been modified to suit the ISTAs needs. The craft itself didn't look much different minus the new engines, and the mounting dock, but the inside was the most changed. The inside had been gutted and two massive fuel tanks had been secured, which would fuel the six Archon engines. The cockpit was now pressurized to provide breathable atmosphere when the plane took off and neared the edge of its reachable atmosphere, a height upon which they could see the curvature of the planet. The plane had radiation shields build around the cockpit and the hull. Radiation was a factor in traveling into space. Lastly on the day of testing, the pilots were strapped in, the cabin pressurized as the rest of the plane was turned into a vacuum to lighten the load. It took 20 minutes for the plane to reach the designated testing altitude at 52,000 feet. The Drone fired up its rocket engine, the docking clamp released and the drone took off towards space. All was a success. |

Fort Ina'Gu, Si'Krivv November 9, 315RE The I.S.S. (International Space Ship) Eternity had been mounted atop the Mestran plan. Ownership of both now belonged to the I.S.T.A. and was a sign of the joint work and effort the nations had put forth to develop space flight. Dr. Irezami sat in the cockpit of the Space craft, along with two Mestran Scientists, a So'Karsan Airforce Pilot, several Future tech Industries Engineers, and a couple Synergist Industrial Engineers. The Eight man crew had been trained for a few moths in a mockup of the cockpit to get them ready for this day. "I.S.S. Eternity this is mission control, all systems are showing green. When you reach 52,000 feet you will be set for launch into space. Flight-197 you are clear for take off!" The captain of flight-197 a man from Mestra began the sequence to launch theplane into the air. The six Archon Engines began to fire up and soon the plane along with Eternity zoomed down the runway and began the twenty minute flight into the upper atmosphere. "Ground control, this is Eternity captain Dr. Irezami. I am begining prelaunch sequence. All systems show green, if Dr. Konmynn and Dr. Lexus are there inform them they did a fantastic job." "This is Dr. Konmynn with ground control, we read you loud and clear captain, may Kairi guide you." 20 Minutes Later "Releasing clamps in 25 seconds. I.S.S. Eternity prepare for release in 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1... Released!" The Dual Booster Engines launched the spacecraft from the back of the plane as it began to exit the atmosphere. Flight-197 began its return flight to Fort Ina'Gu. Upon exiting the Atmosphere the Dual Booster engines turned off and quickly the ships Ion Pulse Engine activated and soon the ship began its flight into space. "Ground Control, this is Eternity, all systems green, power levels green, air supply green. Mission one is a success, I repeat mission one is a success." Cheers erupted at ground control and many scientists and engineers began hugging. The joint effort was a success, showing the world that it could be done, that a peaceful effort between nations was the future of space technology. "Good Job Eternity, you've shown the entirety of Oracia the power of joint missions like this. Proceed to Mission Two Eternity." "Understood Ground control, we'll proceed around Oracia twice. As well as gather information regarding Lunar positioning for the eventual Lunar missions." I.S.S. Eternity completed it two passes around Oracia before reentering the atmosphere, Dr. Irezami looked at the hull readings during reentry as well as their speed of discent, angle, and aproach vectors to the Ina'Gu I.S.T.A. Runway. Everything continued to show green, the parachutes were released the landing gear hit the tarmac and Eternit slowed down and came to rest. The ground crew swarmed the space ship and the crew were hailed as heroes. ((OOC: The Aftermath of this will be as follows if you agree to it Mestra. All actual spacecraft will be constructed in So'Karsa for the I.S.T.A. neither country will own its own spacecraft as the I.S.T.A. is our joint space program. All High Altitude planes that will be used for the spacecraft will be produced in Mestra for the I.S.T.A., each country can own their own High Altitude planes. You can launch your own I.S.T.A. missions from Mestra, just remember they are an organization dedicated to peaceful development of Space. Mestra can own its own satellites, but space-stations, and Lunar Bases are likely to be I.S.T.A. owned and operated. Are you willing to agree to these terms?)) Edited by Zanaro, Aug 7 2013, 02:41 AM.

OOC: I can agree to most of it, but if it is truly a joint operation then there needs to be a significant amount of work being done by each nation at least to start off with. I agree to having all spacecraft constructed in So'Karsa and the High Altitude Planes being built in Mestra. Not sure what you mean by each can own their own planes though, what would be the purpose? It would be easier to launch Satellites via rockets rather than how we launch the heavier Eternity. Also the Archon engines should remain classified for the time being, if you agree. Having our own Satellites is acceptable, but I would like to propose future joint programs such as launching an ISTA GPS system, Agreed to the ISTA owned space stations, and bases. I would like to have a majority of the R&D to be done in Mestra, we can build a new state of the art facility custom designed for R&D for the ISTA. Be similiar to how NASA has the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, so in this case most of the R&D is done in Mestra, with fabrication and construction being done in So'Karsa. If you agree to this of course, it would be sharing the work load, though this facility would be built by Mestra and given to the ISTA. We can also construct buildings for Synergist and Future Tech as this new base. |

((OOC: I can agree to the Joint Research facility being built in Mestra, Ground Control and Administration will remain in Kitsuko were it was originally placed if you are willing to agree to that. The reason for the High Altitude Aircraft was for your own military reasons, but if there is no worry of that then we'll keep it as is. A joint GPS system would be a good next project, we can use the Eternity for Space Station Construction as well as for Lunar Travel when we reach that point. If you want you can start the GPS thread, or even request a Space Ship to be built and sent to Mestra for ISTA purposes. I plan on keeping a list of all current and retired Space Craft and what design they are.)) |

((OOC: I agree to having Ground Control and the Administration in Kitsuko with the primary R&D facility in Mestra. I would ask that Mestra be able to launch rockets if needed. The process would be similiar to NASA, the shuttles were launched in Cape Canavral at ground control and then transferred to mission control in Houston. If we did that ground control for the launch of rockets or what not would occcur where the launch was occuring, and once the rocket or whatever was in orbit or past a point it would switch over to mission control. The High Altitude Craft I wanted restricted or so is because I'm basing the Archon engines off of a Mestran military design for its future high altitude bombers, while the designs aren't the same the basis is. The Archon engines provide a greater thrust which would likely rip a bomber to pieces, and the Archon engines are designed for higher altitude flight. I can agree with the rest, I already have a few designs/ideas and names ready for the GPS system :), so I agree to that if you agree to my stuff. So we can get this show on the road. )) |

November 9th, 315 RE I'balan, Mestra Imperial Palace The press were all situated in the throne room waiting for the Emperor to deliver a speech. Finally Nicholas arrived. He walked into the room quickly before he could be announced, his excitement barely hidden. The gathered press barely had time to stand before he was at the podium and motioning them to sit. "Citizens of Mestra and foreign members of the press. I stand before you all today to simply state my excitement and pride in the successful launch of the Eternity space craft. The joint project between the So'Karsan and Mestran governments including several of our nationally based corporations is a testament to the success of peaceful operations. Our own commitment to the ISTA will only strengthen as we look to strengthen our own bonds with the So'Karsan people. Construction on the new Anvaria Research Facility near Carsan is progressing at an accelerated pace. With thousands of workers building, constructing and landscaping the new facilities for the R&D division of the ISTA we look to further our understanding of science and our own future as a united people in our exploration of space. Let us look not at this day as a day that we achieved space flight, but rather a day when two sovereign nations set aside their differences and joined together to accomplish something truly remarkable. Today I am not only proud to be a Mestran, but I am proud to be a friend to So'Karsa. Thank you." Nicholas waved to the cameras and left the podium as the press stood yelling out questions to which Nicholas ignored. Their questions would be answered in do time. |
