Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa (The Capital Building) January 27th, 315 RE Chancellor Markus Salrio stared at the woman for a moment or two. "If I a may be so bold Commander General it is clear that we both have served our countries on the front lines, and if you don't mind I would much like to get to the point. The dance politicians make is some what boring at times." Markus gave a brief smile as he observed her actions. He continued, "The Imperial Government namely myself and the Emperor are concerned about any launching of rockets above the region. One wrong mishap and the program could affect more than just So'Karsa. It may seem self centered but Mestra does not want to be involved in any incident which could have been prevented. The fact of the matter is, our government is fully in support of the exploration of space and we are most in favor of Synergist Industrial from working with your own Future Tech Industries. To be frank we want in, and it is as simple as that. The Imperium will help cover the cost of the program by providing monetary assistance, personal, training, materials, and our own technology. The true question is whether your government has concerns working with us. As to officially starting a relationship, the Emperor would request that trade between our two countries be supported allowing economic cooperation and growth. Beyond that and please understand this from one soldier to another, the Empire must take any future relations slowly as to evaluate who we have friends with. Our own current struggles against the Coralian Betrayers has strained our diplomatic and military core, but rest assure our sector of the region is stable." Markus leaned back into the chair to await the Commander General's response. |

"Thank the Gods you're not another politician. When I heard Chancellor I had assumed you were just another politician." she let out a laugh before she calmed herself and began speaking. "Since we are going to be straight forward Chancellor, what is it that The Imperium wants in return for said monetary assistance, personal, training, materials, and your own technology? As for the trading, I can sign off on that immediately." |

Markus relaxed a little as well, but not too much the old dog of war was always wary of his situations. "I am Chancellor by title and deed only I assure you. I was once an Admiral and adviser to His Majesties father. When the current Emperor took the throne he asked me to serve as his Chancellor, he said and I quote, 'the Imperial Senate lacks that stern hand and discipline to get things done, you are the man to remedy that'." Markus laughed, "The boy was only 14 when he told me that, its been a good past twelve years." Markus was off topic, but he felt comfortable with the Commander General, she reminded him of an old war buddy, one you could tell old war stories too. "I digress. In exchange the Empire wants access to the developed technology. Your terms of protection on 'unsafe' technology is acceptable, and the Emperor will sign whatever needs to be assigned to assure you that such technology will not be used to develop any form of weaponry that can be used against So'Karsa. His Majesty is eager to form a foundation for future cooperation and friendship, that I can assure you. We would however like to be involved in all discussions in the project and have an equal voice. I assume your still wondering what is we exactly want? Our primary concern is the economic and military growth of the Imperium, opening trade routes is important, but we want to promote growth and technology generated by the space program will help advance our societies. I suppose we request that any technology developed and created be sold exculsively by both Synergist and Future Tech Industries." |

The Commander General was definitely more relaxed and even enjoyed the conversation, learning a bit about the man before her. An old veteran of the Navy, in many regards similar to her predecessor Arcturus who was now the Vice Minister. The request was simple, surprisingly so, but something that could be accepted. "Chancellor, I believe we can agree to these terms. Your government will be allowed membership into the S.S.T.A. for the purposes of the development of Space Technologies. Perhaps though the name should be changed to the I.S.T.A. as it's no longer just a So'Karsan institute, but more of an International one. I'll have the Administration Corp begin working on a new version of the system to better facilitate this change. I feel that our nations are going to be working very closely in this, and that may be a very good thing Chancellor." As she spoke she was typing into a small computer and quickly a screen appeared atop what had looked like an oak desk. She turned the image around showing a several agreements. OPEN TRADE AGREEMENT The Republic of So'Karsa and the Mestran Imperium shall begin a more free trade between the two nations, to help facilitate this Tariffs shall be reduced by 75% on all finished products, and removed on all raw materials. They shall also work together to ensure that trade between these nations will not be interrupted via Pirate, rogue states, etc. I.S.T.A. MEMBERSHIP The Mestran Imperium upon agreement to this document will be granted immediate membership into the international Space Technology Association (Formerly known as the So'Karsan Space Technology Association). As a member The Imperium will be requested to provide a representative from the following; The Military Community, the Scientific Community, and the Government of the Imperium. These representatives will have an equal voice with the other members of the I.S.T.A.in the development of new Space Technologies. The So'Karsan government will share all non-dangerous technologies regarding space travel with members of the I.S.T.A. It is EXPECTED and REQUIRED that this technology will not be used against So'Karsa OR members of the DU (Democratic Union). She looked up at the Chancellor before speaking. "Go ahead and make what changed you require, as well as additions if you feel the need. In the Republic we call this a Living Agreement, and thus it can be malleable before signing." |

Markus read over the documents very carefully. He had been given the full power of the Imperium by the Emperor to conduct business and Markus knew that Nicholas trusted him, as he did him. "I have one change here," Markus pointed out the last bit. "I believe it should state will not be used against any member of the ISTA. If we are all to be friends of course. If that is agreeable do you have a pen?" |

Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa (The Capital Building) January 27th, 315 RE "Entirely agreeable," She makes the slight change to the document. "It's electronic Chancellor, here use this E-Pen, after you sign place a finger print in the lower right box." Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa January 28th, 315 RE Dr. Konmynn sat at his workstation awaiting the arrival of his counterpart from Synergist Industrial. They were going to begin working on the ship design itself, as soon as that was accomplished the parts would be constructed, tested, and then if all went right launched into space! Everything was happening so quickly, and with the aid of not only another corporation, but of another nation the odds of the project reaching the heights that the Vice Minister expected were increasing evermore. This would be good for the whole of the So'Karsan economy, as well as for the whole scientific community. the Doctor fiddled with his computer, designing and scrapping concepts as he waited, he was a half hour early, what did he expect? |

Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa (The Capital Building) January 27th, 315 RE Markus Salrio, Chancellor of the Mestran Imperium, Head of the Senate signed his name to the document and pressed his thumb to the glass. It was done, the future was now brighter. Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa (The Capital Building) January 27th, 315 RE Dr. Sasha Lexus was on her way to meet her Future Tech counterpart for the ship design project. She was 26 and was very attractive. Her brunette hair was in curls and she wore the typical librarian glasses. She had been a child prodigy and held several degrees from a variety of fields making her the best choice for the project. She was more than excited to meet Dr. Konmynn. In her hands she held a flat piece of glass, the newest and latest gadget from Synergy. embedded in the glass was the projection systems, and CPU, all clear and invisible. She wasn't sure if she was more excited to show off her tablet or to meet her partner. Edited by Mestra, Jul 10 2013, 02:01 PM.

Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa January 27th, 315 RE "AHA, Finally I have done it! I have figured it out! Now if only I could understand how I did it...." Dr. Konmynn was a bit eccentric, something of a mad genius. It was useful at times, dangerous at others. None the less he was the madman who designed the MK3 Heavy suit, and the only one who understood Cybernetics enough to reverse engineer the Zanarite designs they were able to get ahold of. The door opened up in a whoosh as Dr. Lexus walked into the room holding onto what he perceived as a piece of glass. "Shhhh! Be very quite little one." He walked up closely to her and peered deep into her eyes. "Yes.... Yes you will do. Welcome, greetings, salutations! I am Dr. Konmynn you must be Dr. Lexus, or was it Dr. Sasha? Well I'm sure it's somewhere in my notes." He looked back to his desk, a single stack of papers sat on one side, neatly crisp. In the middle was a simple type writer, and a computer as well. He seemed eclectic as he was currently wearing a helmet with several different lenses attached each having a different visible HUD. "Well it doesn't matter what matters is you are here! Now we can finally begin! COMPUTER! Quickly open a channel to Dr. Irezami!" There were a couple beeps from the computer and then a ringing noise. There was no answer and the energy that Dr. Konmynn displayed was suddenly lowered. "She never picks up for me." |

Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa January 27th, 315 RE Sasha Lexus was taken aback, this was her partner. The man was clearly mad and not all together there. She wasn't sure how she was going to work with this man, but she had been given a great honor and she had to do everything she could. Sasha felt sorry for the man, clearly whatever he thought was important and had to be shared and yet nobody wanted to talk to him? She could only wonder why. "Perhaps you should go see Dr. Irezami in person." |

Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa January 27th, 315 RE "Oh how I wish I could my dear Dr. Sasha, but alas she has been stationed far across the nation in a military fort. So I suppose we should begin on our portion of the work. Namely the space ship itself!" Dr. Konmynn looked to his counter part before going to the computer on his desk. "I feel that a modular design would be best, something that can easily be upgraded and changed! Removable engines even, or power cores! We should try and keep the exterior as close to one solid piece as possible." As he spoke he typed, and as he typed several projectors turned on activating a large holoprojection screen. He went up to it and was able to move parts of his design around as he felt. "Now Dr. Sasha, your thoughts?" Edited by Zanaro, Jul 11 2013, 04:35 AM.

Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa January 27th, 315 RE "That is all seemingly well Dr. Konmynn, but we should consider the size of the ship, how it will be assembled, and will it be launched in a single piece. I don't have any directive as to whether the ship is a small re-entry ship or a large scale exploration vessel. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to that. Based on modules, I would agree. I would recommend utilizing a similar system as submarines." Sasha tapped the piece of glass which lit up with a screen, from her pocket she pulled out a small emitter and placed it on the side table away from the main projection. She hit a few tabs on the glass screen and the projector came to life showing the classic design of a submarine and the ability to pull pieces out. "Engine and power cores would be much more complicated to be removable or even module, for that It would be easier to replace both together. Perhaps like this." She tapped a few screens and a rough diagram of an engine module appeared. "We integrate the engines and reactor core into the same separate larger module, which would require the entire rear of the ship to be replaced in order to be upgraded. I would recommend an entire ship build this way. We can use nano-polymerization to fuse the sections together to make a seamless hull, in the same way we can cut the hull open to remove entire internal modules." |

"Oooh! I like the way you think. The current directive is to build a simple ship for exit and re-entry. The concept of a submarine in space is intriguing, but since it does need to be able to exit and renter, perhaps more like a very sleek plane? Something I feel we need to speak about as well is the Booster Rockets, I think they should be built into the ship itself, which is why I support the concept of Nuclear powered boosters. "We will eventually work on another ship design, but we first need to get up there. We need to figure out exactly what we need though, power sources, engines, cockpits, crew sizes. So many things!" The man continued to fiddle with the base design, seemingly obsessed, and scatter brained on the whole thing. He needed a focus. |

"In that case I would still recommend using nano-polymerization to fuse the hull plating together and use integrate thermal barriers for re-entry, should reduce any drag on the bottom of the craft as it re-enters the atmosphere. We may be able to completly remove the need for booster rockets if we can redesign the fuselage and fuel injection chambers on the primary engine. Synergist can manufacture 97.3% pure Hydrogen Fuel which is normally used in hydrogen fuel cells. It could be adapted to provide enough power to the engine to allow us to remove additional booster rockets. Has Future Tech been developing any kind of ion-engine?" Dr. Lexus was punching several things on the Glass tablet which began projecting with Dr. Lexus' holo emitter the possible redesigns for the engine core. "Dr. Konmynn if we can incorporate the reactor core and the engine into a single system we can reduce the weight and size of the infrastructure needed. It would make the craft lighter. I am not entirely in favor of nuclear powered anything, the dangers can be immense. Let me do some checking we may be able to imitate a low level fusion reaction using the hydrogen fuel I mentioned earlier. The Mestran Ministry of Science has complete three generations of Fusion Reactors, we may be able to utilize their magnetic containment systems to contain and channel the reactive explosion." |

Dr. Konmynn listened to Dr. Lexus intrigued by many of her ideas, she was smart and would be very helpful to the project. "Yes, we have developed an Ion-Engine, the only issue is that Ion-Engines are only really usable in space so we've yet to be able to test it. As for the fusion of the reactor core and the engine the idea is intriguing and definitely something we can work on and test. The magnetic containment systems could be instrumental in the development of this ship. I should perhaps inform you why we are looking at using nuclear power, it's actually very simple. We plan to use it because it can last far longer then any traditional fuels thus allowing for longer missions in space. The issues I see though is the lack of any booster systems, we need them to exit the atmosphere, an Ion-engine wouldn't work sadly. Also the boosters could aid in steering on the way back into the atmosphere perhaps?" |

"Booster rockets would be unconventional on re-entry Dr. there would be a good chance the boosters could cause the ship to veer of course and burn up. Our best bet for reentry is to allow gravity to do most of the work. She is still a plane after all, we should be able to regulate the steering using flaps and a rudder. Perhaps we could add some sort of ballast system, that way we can increase the weight along the bottom hull to help direct the ship utilizing gravity." Sasha was now sitting at a desk working away on her Glass tablet, she couldn't wait to get to the actual design facilities. She had hoped Synergist would have a say in the computer hardware at least. She had put in a request to get the Athena-MCX model of Synergists' latest super computer, it would make calculations much easier. "Dr. I want to go back to the combined reactor and engine core. I feel that a condensed system would reduce weight and space needed. If we utilize a smaller more stable nuclear core to power general ships systems, we can use Hydrogen fuel as the main booster system. Our Magnetic containment fields can channel the explosive force of the hydrogen fuel to provide the necessary thrust. The system could be utilized in further system to protect the ship from stellar radiation." Ki'Tal City, So'Karsa January 28th, 315 RE Harmon Pope was waiting to speak with the head of Future Tech Industries. Synergist had approved the construction of a new Athena-MCX super computer and Harmon was to discuss the construction of new state of the art facilities including upgrading existing manufacturing plants. The updates would require mutual exchange of technology and practices between the two companies in order for produced items to be at the exact specifications of the ISTS. |
