January 4th, 309RE Fort Katine, Si'Krivv Commander Kameko Ina'ta looked out from the fort, the hot desert sun blazed across the sky. She had grown up in the desert as a tribesman, never allowed to fight. At least until the republic appeared looking for abyone willing to fight some great evil near the sea. She signed up immediately, she had heard of the Republic from the hushed voices of the elders who ruled her tribe. Apparently the Republic was a large joining of tribes and cities to fight against those who would harm them. She had been trained at Fort Tal'Riah, and fought in the defense of Cheolas. When the Zanarite forces were defeated she was given the opportunity to leave the military as a citizen. She chose to keep in, and to fight against other foes of the republic. Now here she was assigned to a small fort in the desert surrounded by tribals. She was once one of them, but now she was something more, something better. She looked around in her MK2: Stealth Suit, the suit adjusted the brightness and allowed her to better see the surrounding area. The gate to the fort opened and a Combat battalion began to exit. The military was beginning to setup for a full scale incursion into the deep desert. Recent satellite reports had shown the potential for a large Oil reserve to be located out there. There was also talk from some tribesman of a rocky region that lead to people dying. The tribes of the area avoided it like the plague, but there was a small chance it could be a Uranium deposit. Commander Ina'ta had been place in charge of the Stealth Units, they were to scout ahead and keep the rest of the Company protected. She smiled and looked out at the group of soldiers as they departed, she loved her job. Edited by Zanaro, Jun 26 2013, 11:57 AM.

January 6th, 309RE Si'Rindral, Si'Krivv The Battalion had arrived the day prior at the edge of the nation, this lone city, the capital of the state and the last stop before entering into the deep desert. Commander Kameko exited one of the sandstone buildings that made up a majority of the city, the streets were brimming with people everything from traders to tribals to soldiers of the Republic. She put her helmet on making the blazing desert sun disappear and the world change around her. The H.U.D. immediately kicked on giving her up to date information about the surrounding area as well as showing her a minimap with the locations of her men. She looked about the village ensuring her men were prepared to leave, they were heading out three days in advance. She departed the city and met up with the platoon she had been assigned as the lead of. She looked at her men, ten had been assigned MK2: Stealth Suits including herself, two MK2: Assault Suits, and two MK1: Logistics Suits, in addition to her troops she had been assigned six Wildcat SAV's (Stealth Assault Vehicle) each designed to carry three people comfortably. The Platoon was designed for stealth missions, and to be able to move quickly if needs be. "Platoon Attention!" spoke one of the men, quickly the unit stood at attention as Commander Kameko approached. She looked her men up and down, ensuring they were all in proper uniform. The man who called the unit to attention saluted the Commander, she returned the salute sharply. "Sub-Commander Veriss at your disposal Commander" "As you were Veriss", the man dropped out of attention and began to follow the Commander. "I'm sure you're aware of our mission?" "Yes Ma'am, we are to survey a portion of the deep desert for the construction of a new Fort. We are also to be on the lookout for movements of Roc packs, and the deep tribes." "That's correct Sub-Commander, but there is more. We are also to ensure the safety of the rest of the Company." She then faced her unit once more. "At ease Platoon!", the men relaxed and began to follow their commander. She looked them over again before continuing. "This is a dangerous mission we are embarking on, travel to the deep desert has been heavily restricted due to the lack of water, high heat, and dangerous wildlife. We are going out there to expand Republic influence, to gain access to the resources of the deep desert, and to continue to unify the Cardohesian Tribes under the Republic. I want it to be known, it is likely we will lose men out there. It could come from improper hydration, sand storms, Tribal attacks, or even by being eaten by a Roc pack. I was raised a tribal and I know the dangers of the deep desert, that is why I have been assigned as your commanding officer. I expect every last one of you to fight for the survival of the Company, as well as for your own survival." She let the words sink in, turned to the sub-commander and nodded. "Platoon, Attention!" The platoon snapped to attention in perfect lockstep. "Mount Up!" The men quickly fell out of formation, gathered their gear and got in the Wildcats. Their journey into the wastes was about to begin. January 9th, 309RE The Deep Desert (ZA24) Commander Kameko looked out from her Wildcat SAV as they traveled deeper into the desert. They had already spotted a Roc pack, but it was headed further north, they reported the location then continued on their way. The Wildcats were driving single file to more easily conceal their numbers. She looked behind her at the other five Wildcats, everything seemed fine so far. She quickly tapped on the right hand console and opened a channel to the entire platoon. "Platoon, this is Commander Kameko. I need a quick analysis on supplies, location, and ensuring all gear is operational. Report." Her voice echoed through the Wildcats and they began to respond according to the wildcat designation. "Wildcat Alpha-12, all Green." "Wildcat Alpha-13, all Green." "Wildcat Alpha-14, all Green." "Wildcat Alpha-15, Weapons Green, Supplies at Yellow." "Wildcat Alpha-16, all Green." "Wildcat Alpha-17, all Green." "Wildcat Alpha-15, why are your supplies at Yellow?" spoke the commander, they should all still be at green it was only day two. "Ma'am, it appears one of our water tanks had sprung a leak. We were able to patch it up, but not until we lost a third of the water." "Understood, keep your eyes on it for further leakage." The drive continued for another two hours before a call went out. "Commander, this is Wildcat Alpha-17, we have spotted a tribal band to the east, approximately five miles out. Orders?" "Platoon, all vehicles halt!" The vehicles came to a stop and the commander donned her helmet and jumped out of the wildcat. "Wildcat 15, and 16 you'll be sending two men each to accompany me on a scouting mission. The remainder of the platoon will set up a overwatch position here. Make sure the Wildcats are kept secure. Sub-Commander Veriss you are to take command of this position." "Understood ma'am." Spoke the platoon in unison. The man dismounted and began to setup the overwatch station as the Commander and four men entered the desert, leaving behind the unit. Edited by Zanaro, Jun 26 2013, 11:57 AM.

January 9th, 309RE The Deep Desert The group of five moved slowly and quietly towards the Tribals keeping low to the ground, they finally crested the dune that looked out at the Tribal band. The group appeared to be armed to the teeth, from their location they could spot RPG's, various types of machine guns, assault rifles, grenades, and mortars. The group seemed prepared for war, and they were heading towards the Company. Commander Kameko set her HUD to focus on a small flag, as it zoomed in she realized what it was. The flag of the Tribal Independence Movement, the same group that rebelled only a few short years earlier. It seems they had escaped into the deep desert wastes to recoup. "Alright unit, we'll be taking out these tribals as quickly and quietly as possible. Spread out and prepare to snipe from five angles. If our locations are compromised move in. Activating Protocol Charlie seven." As soon as she finished saying the protocol a song began to play in each soldiers helmet, only audible to them. The five began to fire upon the group of nearly fifty tribals taking out five in the first barrage, and another five before they could recoup from the initial surprise attack. The tribals grabbed their weapons and began to fire wildly in the way of several of the shots allowing for two MK2 soldiers to suddenly be attacking within melee range. Using several knives and switching to two barreled pistols. The battle was short and the tribals were defeated in only a few short moments. "Good job men, grab any water they had we need to get Wildcat 15 to green on supplies. Also grab any ammo to keep us at green in weapons." "Yes ma'am." "Sub-Commander report to the company to be on the lookout for T.I.M. soldiers in the area. It appears they've been using the deep desert as a hiding ground." Edited by Zanaro, Jun 26 2013, 11:57 AM.

January 15th, 309RE The Deep Desert "Commander, report from the Company. It appears that they have found what they call an 'ideal' location for a base. It appears to be atop of a platou, from reports it has cliffs on three sides and a sloped entrence on the fourth side. Easy to hold against attack and it also commands view of a large area. Our orders are being altered to making contact with any and all nearby tribal settlements and begin making arrangements for them to send a representative to the location of the 'Fort'." spoke Sub-Commander Veriss through the comlink, he had switched to Wildcat Alpha-17 after the last encounter with T.I.M. soldiers. Commander Kameko had retained her spot in Wildcat Alpha-12 mostly because it was the front vehicle and she believed in leading by example. "Understood Sub-Commander, lets set course for this 'fort' so we can refuel and resupply. Do we have word if they had called up the construction battalion yet?" "No word yet ma'am on the construction battalion. We'll make our way to the 'Fort' for resupply, no sign of any T.I.M.'s on radar scans as of now." "Good, keep me informed sub-Commander. Platoon keep your eyes peeled for any movement out in the sands, or among the outcroppings we don't want to be caught with our pants down. If you have any issues go ahead and report it, otherwise I'll give us some good tunes to listen to." The radio remained silent for a few seconds. "Alright, I hope everyone enjoys this one." The music began playing and the platoon continued on its way through the desert. Edited by Zanaro, Jun 26 2013, 11:57 AM.

February 8th, 309RE The Deep Desert Commander Kameko was speaking yet again to another tribal leader, she was one of three in the unit that could speak Si'Krivv fluently and thus she often was the first person the leaders would speak to. This was the fifth tribe she had spoken to, and so far all was going well. They liked the idea of the Republic, and had decided to send a representative to Fort Ia'Trin where the temporary capital of the region was to be. Several other teams had been sent out to search for a suitable location for the actual capital city. She finished her discussion with the Chief and returned to the platoon. "Commander, we've received orders to return to the Fort." Spoke Sub-Commander Veriss as he leaned out of his Wildcat. "Understood Sub-Commander, did they give a reason?" "No Ma'am, just that we are to return to the Fort, perhaps they don't want us to keep combing the desert? It's very difficult to find even the smallest of tribes this deep in the desert." "No, it's likely something else. It doesn't matter though, Platoon Mount up! We're heading to Fort Ia'Trin!" The platoon members quickly got back in their Wildcats and began moving back towards the Fort. February 9th, 309RE Fort Ia'Trin, The Deep Desert Commander Kameko and Sub-commander Veriss stood at attention before the General of the operation. They were in a rather large tent while construction continues around them. "Commander, you've done a very commendable job. You've taken out several T.I.M.'s and have made peaceful ontact with five different tribes outtheir. Top Notchwork in all regards Commander. I'm sure you're wondering why I recalled you back to the fort if you're doing such top notch work. Well the answer isn't an easy one. You're Platoon is being reassigned to Si'Rindral to oversee the supply and construction battalions protection. In fact you're being assigned your own company to do so. It means more work, andless frontline action, I know how much you enjoy being first on the scene but we need you in Si'Rindrall while we get our presence established out here." "Sir, I thank you for your trust in me to do this task. I would prefer front-line action but I understand the need." "Good, you and your men are to leave the Fort first thing in the morning. Congratulations." |

May 1st, 309RE Si'Rindral, Si'Krivv Commander Kameko sat at the head of the table, today the different Commanders of the brigades involved with the development of Kal'Riv was going as planned, the new colony was small and the local population consisted of only 27 tribes. The commander of the Peace Corp divisions assigned to the task sat to Kameko's left, to her right sat the Commander of the Engineering Corp that was assigned to the project, and finally across from her sat the Commander of the Admin Corp. General Takewa had been recalled back to serve the majority of his division, leaving command of the region to Kameko. The resources they had at their disposal were few and far between, but they still were to complete the assignment. "Commanders, I call this first meeting to order. As I'm sure you are well aware we have gotten the 27 tribes of the Kal'Riv region to join under the republic banner, a difficult task completed by Commander Droverr of the Peace Corp and his team. The completion of Fort Ia'Trin is a major priority as it will help stabilize Republic influence in the region as it holds a central location. Commander Juarez what is the time till completion on the Fort Proper?" "Ma'am, currently we have a majority of the Admin buildings completed, as well as have begun installation of solar cells on every building. We are currently looking at completion early 310. The biggest issue we have currently is the lack of a proper road out to the Fort, which is taking valuable time from construction. If there is anyway we can get additional funds and men we can get the road built to the city which will greatly improve the speed of the construction process." "I'll pit forth the request commander. Commander Yomato, how is the Admin Corp settling into the Fort?" "Very well Ma'am. We've already begun ensuring the Fort is running as the colonial capital until we can found the capital city." "That brings us to our other issue, we've found a location that should be able to serve as the capital. It's Far Deeper into the Colonial region then I'd like, but it has access to the water table beneath the surface as well as some very solid rock for a foundation. We've already setup a small encampment in the area. As soon as the Fort is completed we'll begin sending men to begin serious construction in the area. As per the governments plans the first major governmental building will be the Capital tower. Commander Yomoto, we already have the colonial government designed correct? "That's correct Ma'am, but I feel Commander Droverr would be better to be able to go over that, as it was his team that worked with the local tribes to develop it." "Commander Droverr, if you would." "It'd be my pleasure Ma'am. The government is a similar style to that in Si'Krivv. The biggest difference is that Tribal members vote for the High Chief not the chief council. We'll inform them that they can begin meeting at the fort for government duties until the capital is completed." "Excellent, now onto the final order of business. Their have been reports of oil in the region, and the corporations are getting antsy to get their hands on it. Make sure we can get the colonial government together to decide how much they will be taxing the corporations for the use of the land. As soon as that is done I can send in the report. Dismissed." The officers began filtering out the room, leaving Kameko alone in it. She hated not being in the front lines sometimes, but she couldn't deny she was good at her job. She had been in Si'Krivv for four months. It was time for her to get back to the Fort so she could take proper command from a more forward position. She sat down at the computer and began writing up the request. |

January 21st, 310RE Fort Ia'Trin The final touches to the fort were being put in place, it had been a nearly year long project but the hard work was about to payoff. Several months earlier oil had been pinpointed to a large portion of the desert, and the Colonial government had passed the law allowing for the use of the oil. Thanks to the income from the oil the speed of the construction of the capital city was going far above expectations. The current High Chief was very supportive of the new national government as well as the colonial government. Commander Kamiko had only met him twice since he was elected into office, but the man was a reasonable sort, and was very supportive of the military. He'd even made it a point to ensure that recruitment stations would be present in the capital, allowing for those who wished to serve the Republic to have that opportunity. Kamiko looked out from her office out upon the vast desert, from atop the plateau it was truly a beautiful site. It reminded of her of when she would travel on the back of a Roc over the desert with her tribemates. She gave a slight smile as she remembered thos days fondly. Sub-commander Veriss entered the room and saluted, Kamiko returned the salute sharply. "Ma'am, we have reports from Ao'Ris. The High chief is requesting a garrison of soldiers to be placed inside the city in case any T.I.M. revolutionaries decide to attack." "Inform him that I shall put in the request for a Garrison in the city. Sub-Commander, before you leave I have a question for you." "Ma'am?" "Have you ever looked out at the desert and ask yourself why the republic would come all the way out here to spread democracy?" "I can't say I have Ma'am, I mostly just go where I'm told. Why do you ask Ma'am?" "No reason Sub-commander, your dismissed." The Sub-commander stood at attention, saluted, then departed the room. Kamiko went back to looking out at the desert, this was her home. |

August 3rd, 311RE Ao'Ris, Kal'Riv Commander Kamiko sat in the office of High Chief Ir'Reken, with her sat none other then Commander General Arcturus, one of the Triumvirate. The two had been invited here by the high chief to begin the discussion of Kal'Rive becoming an official So'Karsan territory. Arcturus seemed calm, he was wearing the uniform of a Warden from the Black Thorn movement, for the most part they had become the Vigilance Party and their uniform was synonymous with it now. A servant set down two cups and tea was poured for each of them, the rich aroma filled the room as the High Chief arrived. "Commander General Arcturus, I am happy you could arrive for this meeting. Allow me to introduce you to Commander Kameko, she's the CO of Fort Ia'Trin to the East. I am High Chief Ir'Reken, dutifully elected by the 27 tribes of Kal'Riv, and speaker of the tribe of Dal'Rokar." "Thank you for inviting me to this beautiful city High Chief Ir'Reken. I'm sure there is much for us to discuss. Commander Kameko, it is a pleasure to finally meet you, I've heard good things about your work out here." "Yes, yes, now Commander General The Kal'Riv colonial government would like to officially petition the So'Karsan government for Territory status. It is an important first step towards achieving statehood, and that is our current goal." "I can understand that High Chief, but I would like to hear the Commanders thoughts on the colony before I will even think about it. Commander?" "Sir, the colony is a harsh region with scarce water, and a hardy people. There are wild Roc packs, and the occasional T.I.M. warband, but their is also a large amount of oil, and some amazingly beautiful rock formations, and large sandy seas. In many ways its similar to Si'Krivv but perhaps even more wild. We currently have the one major road that goes from Si'Rindral to Ao'Ris. As well as a the road put to the city of Vi'Derik near the Oil fields, the region is developing and I feel it may be ready to become a territory of So'Karsa." "High chief, I feel the commander has made some good points. I shall fight for your cause in the capital. You will be a territory by years end." August 24th, 311RE Fort Ia'Trin, Kal'Riv Commander Kameko looked at her desk, upon it sat two letters with her name. One was addressed from The Triumvirate, the other from the Vigilance Party. She opened the one from the Triumvirate first.
It was almost surreal, she was being granted one of the highest awards in So'Karsa, AND being granted control of all military forces in Kal'Riv. Most generals would be dying to get the job she was doing now, she smiled and knew she was doing her best, and she was being rewarded for it. She looked to the second letter and opened it.

Halvadag International Airport, Halvadag, Länlania 313, November 15 Soren sighed, running his hand through his hair. The wind was blowing strongly in the coastal airport, brushing his golden hair across his forehead and into his eyes. Despite the strong winds, Soren seemed rather comfortable in his his light clothes--a pair of shirts and a grey tartan shirt, the buttons flying freely with the shirt in the wind. A Royal Guard was carrying his luggage up the steps into Eagle One--the Monarch's private aircraft--while another few carried those of Bastion and Soren Dominick. Indeed, Arcturus had taken the liberty of inviting the two Soren on Bastian's summer trip. Soren's mother had stumbled onto the letter and, together with his sister and child, had effectively hounded the king until he yielded and agreed to take the vacation. He didn't want to, of course. He had much to deal with at home, both in the Commonwealth and abroad. Word was spreading in Commonwealth political circles of reform, to change and transform the Länlanian Commonwealth to be more representative of it's new demographics. That, and the Iron Nations' movements throughout the Southern Hemisphere, demanded the king's attention. And yet, here he was, about to board a flight to a nation thousands of kilometers away, with his entire government refusing to keep him to date until he got back. He found it a little amusing; they were sparing him for a few days... only to drown him in files afterwards. Yet, as both Bastian and Dominick ran from the convoy to the helicopter, both of them crashing into him and shoving him up the steps, Soren couldn't but smile. Neither could his mother, who smiled sadly as she watched half her boys disappear into the aircraft. Edited by Lines, Jun 29 2013, 05:50 PM.

Ao'Ris, Kal'Riv 313, November 16 As Eagle One approached Ao'Ris it could easily be seen the shear scope of its development. Large Casino's covered the downtown of the city, and fountains could be seen throughout the city. A gem in the middle of the desert, where nothing around it even existed. Eagle One slowed at it descended to the runway, the sound of the wheels locking out, and the captains voice over the radio confirmed the descent into the city. The sun beat down upon the plane as it came to a halt upon the runway. Workers quickly put down a ramp for the royalty to walk down. So'Karsan guards crossed the burning asphalt as they approached the plane, quickly forming two columns. After a few moments Arcturus Kroviun, his wife Aiko Sile Krovien, and their two children Rose Sylvia Kroviun and Arthur Mal Kroviun exited the airport to great their royal visitors. Arcturus had a beaming smile as the Bonde family finally departed the plane. Prince Bastian Soren Kreim Kroviun ran off the jet and hugged his uncle, his two cousins quickly embarrassed the young prince and the three began to smile and waved over for Dominick to join them. "Soren, I'm very glad you could make it, we have quite a few things planned for the trip. We've got sand sailor rentals set up, as well as Roc riding lessons out at Fort Ia'Trin, and of course enjoying the beautiful city of Ao'Ris and it's multitude of shows, and casinos. I know this will be a fun and relaxing vacation for both of us. I know I've been in need of one." Arcturus motioned across the runway to the airport where guards stood on either side. "Shall we your grace?" |

"Indeed," Soren answered, joining Arcturus in the walk across. The children were leading the way excitingly, sharing news of their adventures at home. "The times have been busy as of late. Quite stressful as well. This break will do us both good. "I appreciate the invitation." |

The two families entered into the cool airport which sat at a nice 72 degrees Fahrenheit. The airport had many tourist walking through it, but the So'Karsan Guards kept the people at bay as they traveled through the airport to the limo that awaited to take them to the hotel. "Soren, we'll be staying in The Golden Sands Hotel Penthouse, it's the nicest hotel in Ao'Ris so I felt it was appropriate. Also don't worry about paying for anything my company is covering the trip." The Limo drove for ten minutes through the desert before it entered the city proper, already several large hotel casino's had been built and the Tower that stood as the capital for the state was completed, and silver and blue replica of the one in Ki'Tal city. As they neared the hotel it was easy to see the extravagance that the city had begun to develop already. A massive garden surrounded half of it, another quarter had a massive fountain that displayed shows hourly, the last quarter was a large parking garage that was even designed to be pretty. The Limo pulled up to the front of the hotel and the door was opened by the bellhop as nearly a dozen workers came out to help carry the suitcases and bags up as well as to take drink orders if requested. Aiko looked to her husband and spoke in a soft voice with a thick so'Karsan accent. "Is it truly ok for all of this? It's not to much?" She spoke in Zanarite,a language she learned so their children would know the language of their ancestors. "It is, we have more then enough money to afford this, we do own the hotel after all." He returned in the same tongue. The two families entered the hotel and immediately one of the concierge workers walked up to the group. "Mr. Kroviun so good to see you made it safely. The Penthouse is prepared for you and your guests. If you'll follow me." |

"Quite a grand city you've built," Soren murmured, after their little exchange. He'd picked up some Zanarite in the years since the Imperial Republic joined the Commonwealth, though made no gestures that he understood their conversation. Instead, he studied the lobby around them. The bellhops didn't seem to be the only people in abundance; there were many guests present, the majority of whom were taken aback by the sudden appearance. Soren studied the inside of the building, even as the guards moved to shelter them from the crowd. It was as extravagant as the outside, a garden of Cardohesian Desert Violets being the centerpiece of the room. A family of Cartic Finches stood among the leaves, huddled together, yet stretching their wings in pride. The finches were largest than life, which drew the attention of the younger children. "Quite fitting," Soren continued, falling in line behind the concierge. He snagged Dominick on the way to the elevator, with the Kroviuns not far behind. "Daaaad," Dominick called, squeezing into the elevator as it filled. "We're gonna share rooms with Bastian and his family?" |

Arcturus smiled at Dominick's question, the 'room' as stated by the young child was far more then that,is was a two story mansion inits own right. The concierge put a card into the elevator then looked to Arcturus who handed him a second. When both cards had been input the concierge pressed the button for Penthouse and the elevator rose up. The ride was short and the speed was somewhat noticeable. The doors opened to reveal a truly breath taking view. A massive two story window opened out before them, with a large gathering space, on the other side of the window was a large pool that sat on the balcony. A table was slightly off the central path and their sat President Takashi drinking a small glass of Champagne as the two families entered the penthouse Arcturus smiled. "Welcome Soren to So'Karsa." Stairs led to a higher level, a large kitchen was on the 'first' floor as well as several bedrooms and a personal sauna and steam room. The second floor had more bedrooms as well as a large fish tank that went along one wall. The living room had a massive TV that could well rival the one Soren had at home. The desert could be seen from the window, but so could the beautiful city and the massive fountain bellow. |
