Cordillera. 12 years ago, the enigmatic nation disappeared behind the mists of the ocean. Events in the rest of the Nysan world drove the Cordillerans into isolation, and the nation was not heard from again. Until now. 313 RE 23 DECEMBER (4045 CA 32 VIRAYA) CORDILLERAN CAPITOL BUILDING - Cártána, Cordillera "My pharaoh, the policies instituted under your predecessor cannot continue to stand. Cordillera continues to remain isolated from the rest of the world. Though we can sustain ourselves, we cannot continue to turn a blind eye to the events gathering in the outside world. I implore you to gather national representatives to witness the rebirth of our great nation on the international stage." The young queen of Cordillera glanced at her advisors. "I have forseen such an event. I was not a supporter of Morganna's move into isolation, and I still move that we must return ourselves to unity with the world. I shall organize a state dinner, to be held over three days at my palace outside this city, and will write a dispatch to such end. Please excuse me." "Of course, my pharaoh." Her advisors departed. ![]() The KARMIC UNION of CORDILLERA TO: Any and all national governments FROM: Pharaoh Azada of the Karmic Union of Cordillera From the Cordilleran Union, I salute all the rulers of the realms that dot the world. I also note that many of you might not recognize this great nation. Twelve years ago, the Karmic Union of Cordillera pulled itself off the world stage to escape the state of the world at the time. Since then, we have lived in isolation, but as I am now pharaoh, I feel it is time to reconnect. I would like to invite every national leader to a state dinner and summit in Cártána from January 4 through January 9. I shall look forward to replies, and hope to see delegations from every nation at my palace on the 4th. ![]() Pharaoh AZADA I By the Grace of Mother Arynnia, Queen of the Karmic Union of Cordillera and all its Realms |

Saint Helena, Western Falsea December 24, 2013 Louise Rourke briskly walked down from the temporary stage built in the heart of Saint Helena. The man had just finished delivering his annual "December speech" to crowds of various Falseans who actually had a religion they ascribed to, Saint Helena having one of the largest concentration of Hadarists, Kalorists, and other faiths in the whole country. The speech, one that would make the wholly atheist ruling party shudder in disgust, was a way to rouse non-atheists to throw their support of the party and not invite anarchy. Or in another perspective, was just a subtle way of reminding religious fellows to give their gratitude to the government for not lining them up in walls and having them shot merely for having a faith. One of his public relations adviser, an elderly statesman who looked like he came out of the Falsean revolution that happened fifty years ago, approached him as they made their way to the President's motorcade for his next destination, carrying a piece of paper in his hands. "Sir", he wheezed as he tapped Rourke's left shoulder. "You might want to read this.", he added as he gave the paper toward his superior. "What is this", questioned Rourke, glancing back at the official curiously, before the piece of paper. "It's an invitation from the Karmic State. You know, the massive island country to the east that Premier Gradenko was accused of attacking with a massive bomb back in the seventies." The President nodded slowly as he read the letter from the Pharaoh. Cordillera and Falsea have held horrible relations in the past, and due to the country's isolation that prevented reconciliation, this continued even into the present. Now was the perfect moment in order to mend these wounds. "This is a rare opportunity we cannot miss. Make sure to contact Minister Hopkins and send her over once January comes. In these ever-changing times, it is very imperative that the People's Republic maintains at least cordial ties with everyone. You never know.", he said after, a mischievous grin in his face.

DATE: January 2, 314 TIME: 12:30:00 PLACE: Royal Palace, Ninsk LOCATION: Southern Kalonia, Pacium Union Isara Nortaius "I don't understand how you have so many damned bills." "Er... I paid for everything." "Al... what did you order?" I raised an eyebrow and leaned forward, not completely sure I wanted the answer. He blushed and whistled, looking at Alessia, then at me. Oh boy, this couldn't be anything too good. I drummed my fingers against the kitchen table and glared at him silently. "...Ehehehe... maybe I ordered a trampoline?" Oh brother. I slapped my hand against my face and groaned loudly. No matter what office my- our really- husband was in, he was still somewhat a kid at heart. Slowly, I tossed that bill to the side and looked down at an envelope that looked like it held urgency. Slowly, I opened it and- OH ALMA NO. NOT THEM. I looked up, horrified at the name and gulped. Al raised an eyebrow and motioned for me to hand him the letter in my hand. I was about ready to fight this one... but I knew it was beyond too late. Slowly, I surrender the enveloped and he read the top. "...Oh Alma. Not these self righteous assholes again," I heard him say. "So... Cordillera has magically appeared once again. Swell. Alessia dear, the Cordillerans are inviting us to some Conference in their homelands... though I remembered hearing about their reputation as self righteous assholes." Self righteous assholes? I leaned forward and placed my hands on the table in annoyance. "But Al," I began, "we're currently engaging in a liberation of the Nova Ikaria islands on the premise of liberating it from the evil clutches of a fascist government. Have we a right to call them sel righteous assholes?" He looked up and eyed me curiously for a few minutes. Then, he looked back down and cleared his throat to answer. "Never said we're not hypocrites." ...Oh bloody Hell Alvino. That's bull shit. I shook my head and groaned, looking at Alessia with pleading eyes for help. |

A Collective Regime Of Peace And Love

This was the communique which was sent. The balance of power had shifted in Ardem. Twelve years ago, the Carpathian government would have clawed for such an invitation. Back then, the Allied States of Carpathia and Moldova were an insignificant, but ambitious state which had just emerged from a brutal civil war, which ended several decades of capitalist, then theocratic dictatorship. Now, more than a decade later, it seemed that their ambitions had served them well. It all started with the war against the fascist regime of Thalamore. Carpathia's emerging military and the communist rebel underground in the former Greater Elven Reich, simply brushed aside the fascist army and turned Thalamore into a communist satellite state of Carpathia. Then there was the Three Day War with Medina Tharsia. It was called the Three Day War, because, after a failed nuclear attack from the Medinese plutocracy, Carpathia responded by simply obliterating the Medinese through use of nuclear and especially, biological weaponry. What finally and firmly established Carpathia's new status was the breakup of the former State of Battlion, due to a severe economic crisis. The predominately ethnic Carpathian provinces of Battlion broke away and formed the Monroe Republic, a constitutional dictatorship with a provisional government which slowly started to guide the country back on track. This was the second Carpathian satellite state to emerge in Ardem. Battlion left behind a massive power vacuum. And Carpathia rose to fill it. Now, twelve years later, the Allied States of Carpathia and Moldova were the country with the highest national GDP in Nysa, a founding member of one of the most prominent three military-economic alliances and one of the dominant superpowers of the Mirovian Ocean. Twelve years ago, their diplomats would have clawed for an opportunity to send a delegate to Cordillera. Now, their government didn't even bother to answer. To them, Cordillera was now just an obscure state somewhere to the East, that no one really cared about. Instead, they sent their lapdog, Sebastian Monroe, of the Monroe Republic, to handle the diplomacy. The message was clear. In their silence, the Carpathian governing politicians, said to Cordillera one thing: We're too busy to deal with you, please talk to our secretary, instead. It seemed they preferred to focus on their summit with the other Trilateral Alliance members, as there were talks regarding economic policies going on. It was curious, though, who would be the envoy of Thalamore, who's identity Monroe omitted from the communique. |

"Send that letter fast, we need to get it there before the dinner!" Reginald said. "Right sir!" the courier said. "Hopefully the Cordillerans don't mind the tardiness" Reginald thought. |
