Herucorm Front

No man's land was a very dangerous place. Over the month of constant artillery bombardment, infantry advances, and missile strikes, the terrain had become very broken. There were craters throughout the grounds--craters which helped the Buroh deflect the truck attack. Indeed, between the preliminary missile strikes that began when the potential assault was noticed, the artillery barrages that thundered to life as the trucks appeared on the battlefield, and the IFV and tank fire that erupted as the rage closed, very few trucks made it through.

Buroh fighters had been scrambled when the assault began and the first Orca bombers were detected taking off. Consequently, they were in the region when the Orca bombers started appearing. The fighters engaged, forcing some bombers to abort, while a few stubborn were shot down. Some pierced the shield, unleashing their missiles into the hundred-kilometer wide front.

The effort was less than resoundingly effectively.

The Wolfires and Razerbeaks arrived then, engaging the Buroh fighters in heavy dog-fighting. The Buroh aircraft retreated, allowing SAM sites on the ground to open fire on the Sylvarian aircraft.

As the Sylvarian ground forces advanced, the holes in the Buroh lines were filled by reserves. The Sylvarian armor advance found itself facing a heavy artillery volley all along the line, while already struggling through very battered and broken terrain. Some vehicles became stuck in a crater, an easy target for Buroh artillery--and they would be taken, once the combat died down.

Until then, the entire Buroh front ripped alive as the defenders unleashed hell.

The vanguard smashed into the Buroh Lines, taking casualties and crushing lesser vehicles. But once they broke through the line everything became close combat. Vindicators fired on buildings and tanks, reducing them to rubble and charred metal as Crawlers moved with ease over the terrain and destroyed structures, using mounted flamethrowers on infantry. A volley of Starfire Rockets slammed into the front line again, targeting the closest SAM sites. while the scorpion tanks maneuvered no-mans-land with ease, strafing and engaging with the line. Guardian Tanks moved in at the rear-guard, taking the brunt of artillery-fire. Up in the sky the airplanes broke off and pulled back enough to support from out of range.

Today the armies of Sylvar bit back with force.

The Forces of Buroh took many casualties as they began to pull back to the last stand point. Many stood their ground feebly as the aircraft pounded their faces in and the tanks rolled over their bodies. Soldiers began to commit suicide as a means out from the fate they would face in captivity. History was coming back to bite them in the arse, and the commanders knew it better then anyone. One lesser noble, who was younger and didn't yet have his fathers slaves ran out and surrendered to Sylvarian troops...begging for mercy and forgiveness. He showed that he had no slaves..and he was just a young boy...with a young bride. He was spared and arrested for the time being. Many other nobles met a different fate....beginning to be attacked and killed

Vengeance was done

S.E.S. Atlantis,
Emperor Valus Farlyre,
April 30, 313

There were cheers all around as the report came in, the norther Buroh army was completely crushed and routed. I convened with the generals, Batal was displayed on a screen as well as Masyaf, Hamza and I were in the meeting room.

"This is a great victory for us today," I said, "but make note that this is not the end. We still must take back Ravenne and teach our vile enemy we are not to be crossed. Hamza will take control of half of the Northern force and move down, we are going to take back Ravenne with as many men as we can. Atunael knows what horrors lie in there, I want all the Gold Falcon squads on a stealth recon mission."

All the other generals looked back at me and affirmed that they heard me. "They will head into the city when it is darkest."

Captain Roach, Karskin Squad
Ravenne Outskirts,
May 1, 0000 Hours.

It was pitch black as night. Karskin Squad moved up through the tall trees in the north of Ravenne, slowly moving south on command. We got to the first checkpoint, using the darkness of the forest we swung behind them, I crept up with ghost behind the two guards and put a sleeperhold on them, then we dragged them off into the woods and gagged and bound them. Moving onwards we met little resistance, each time silently neutralizing the enemy. We finally got into the city after using silenced weapons on the gate guards. We moved into the first building. Guard on the left, creep up behind. Twist head. His neck cracked satisfyingly as he fell to the floor. We worked our way up to the top of the building and set up camp. A team of 17 we were. Operation Rattlesnake was underway.

Ravenne

The city was having a peaceful and quiet night. The streets were mostly clear, and the bomb shelters were empty; most of the civilians had already been taken back to Buroh, never to be seen again. The Military Police were running patrols, searching for survivors, and the Military was stationed all around the heavy city streets. Tanks patrolled in the night sky, as well as the local palace guard was on alert and the palace on lockdown.

(OOC: I know its bs but i cant think of anything better T_T)

By the third day the SAM sites were rigged with C4. Karskin squad had completed their part of the operation. On the signal, all SAMsites were destroyed in explosions around Ravenne, signalling for the counterattack to start. With no AA coverage the Sylvar Legions had the upper hand. Crusaders taking up the front, the forces marched head on into the city, Razerbeaks and Wolfires flying overhead in coverage.
