(OOC: Where is the 5th right now?) Emperor Valus, S.E.S. Atlantis I read the reports slowly, tears streaming down my face, General Hamza stood behind me, I wasn't even paying attention to what he was yelling about with Masyaf. Enough was enough. I drew out my sword, a ceremonial one, but still a lethal weapon, an iron claymore, and drove it into the wooden table in front of me and screamed. I turned to the Generals, both silent. "I want all personel on the fronts, Bring down Atunael's hammer on these foes. I know who they are." "Who?" Masyaf asked. "The Buroh." I said to them. The color drained from their faces. "Call the Quatre Leaders." I said, "We will need all the help we can get." Edited by Valus, Jun 3 2013, 09:13 AM.

Gilmore Front Headquarters, Southern Buroh-Sylvarian Border 313, March 25 Six-thousand--the estimated number of casualties the Front took during the previous eight days. Two-thousand dead, and four-thousand wounded. The heavily wounded were sent home--commonly in the same convoys that carried captured cattle back. The lightly wounded were at base camp--here, at Mayzen's headquarters--recovering. Those losses were tolerable--light, in fact. Especially considering that reinforcements were now arriving. The 9th and 10th Army had reported for duty, the 9th Army maneuvering to join the 6th across the river, advancing in the hills. The 10th was to join the 5th, covering the 4th's southern flanks. New recruits, fresh out of training, were being sent to Ravenne, to relieve the 4th Army of Garrison... and to finish what the 4th began. All in all, his troops--all third of a million of them--would be ready to continue advancing early April. The battle in the air had died down. Neither the Buroh or the Sylvarians managed to achieve air superiority, though both sides managed to deny the sky to enemy fighters. It wasn't what he'd hoped for, but it would have to do... at least until the army began moving again. Northern Front Headquarters, Northern Buroh-Sylvarian Border General Hammerhard was a cautious man. He'd held off advancing his forces until a week after Mayzen--his more aggressive counterpart--had struck. He'd hoped that the Sylvarians would have focused on the south, allowing him easier advances. Of course, he couldn't quite see if his plan was working--intelligence from inside Sylvar was scare. Although, the advance seemed to be going relatively well so far. The 1st and 2nd Armies--the core of his task force--was making ample progress into the border. A day into action, and they'd already penetrated 40 kilometers. Of course, the Sylvarian resistance was token at best--the border forces hadn't been reinforced yet. He expected resistance to increase, the closer to Herucrom he came. He hoped the 3rd Army--ordered to radio silence, as it advanced through the forested hill--was advancing to schedule. Inper Highlands Front, Central Buroh-Sylvarian Border Winky hated the Sylvarian Valley--hated it almost as much as he hated his first name (Tinky). It was a very swampy place--mostly likely why settlement in the region was kept to a minimum. However, despite this, his commanders are home believed the region could be used for a flanking maneuvering against either the North or and South fronts--"unacceptable", he was told. Consequently, his 7th and 8th Armies were deployed to advancing along it--following the winding backwater roads northwest, to secure the flanks of both the Gilmore Front and the Northern Front. He was in contact with both. Hammerhard was being secretive, as was his nature, refusing to provide reports on the southern edge of his Front. It made Winky's job all the harder--he wasn't sure how fast to have the 7th Army, positioned on the western bank on the river, advance. At least Mayzen was being more cooperative, keeping him up to date with the 6th and 7th Armies's positions. The 8th Army was, consequently, advancing as schedule... through a goddamned swamp. Allied Pacium-Ardem Command - Assuria The Chief Officer of the Quarte Alliance was a Kingboroughian. The head of the Discretionary Council, he was the first to hear of the Sylvarian's plight. His first order of business had been to call an emergency assembly, followed closely by warning the Military Council, headed by an Assurian, to prepare for action. The Quarte Alliance didn't have standard deployments like the other alliances, however. It did, however, have first responders--a few thousand men deployed to each member. The responders in Sylvar had already been mobilized, and were well on their way to the front. Unfortunately, a directive from the Discretionary Council would be necessary to deploy further troops--troops transferred to Alliance Command from their sovereign states. So it was First Discretionary Council conveyed... ((OOC: Check out the OOC thread, QA gais.)) Edited by Lines, Jun 3 2013, 10:30 AM.

Private Ragen Deltar, 3rd Platoon, South West of Herucorm 313, March 26 We were moving north after circling around the forces headed to Herucorm, preparing an ambush between the trees and lie in wait until they came. They numbered roughly 60,000 men, we opened fire from both sides of the trees onto their forces, outnumbering them 4:3. Tank Sergeant Jacob Moreno, Cobra Platoon, West of Herucorm Approximately 80,000 men of the Ravenguard and Blue Dragons guarded the Hill Herucorm stood on, our intel told us a large force had penetrated the border undetected and was moving west. The city was on red alert after Ravenne was attacked, Fortifications brought up and civilians were prepared to evacuate, but we were heavily entrenched and prepared for them. |

3rd Army, Hills Southwest of Herucrom 313 March 26: 11:48 A.M. The 3rd Army managed considerable progress in a day. Relatively unopposed as well, though the entire Front faced that luck. The fact didn't phase Hammerhard, though it did compel him to request air force assets on stand-by. Contact was expected on the 26th, after all. And, so it came. Specifically in the one place where Hammerhard had wanted it least. Of course, Lieutenant General Po was no fool. His orders for radio silence only held until he ran into concentrated enemy forces--and, indeed, his troops were reporting concentrated enemy forces. Much like the enemy wouldn't miss his force of six-thousand, he wouldn't miss their eighty-thousand. Gunfire exploded a little past noon, all along the line. Within half an hour, Buroh attack helicopters began penetrating in support, flying in through the valley or from along the coast and emptying their guns on Sylvarian positions. The forest was thick--the risk of fire too great... for missiles, at least. Artillery fire opened up on Sylvarian positions from artillery units of the 2nd task force along the coast. Allied Pacium-Ardem Command - Assuria 02:20 A.M. "And so we have decided," the Chief Officer sighed. "The Sylvarian Empire will receive the military support of the Quarte Alliance and it's members." "Antova, Assuria, and Kingborough have also already reported their commitments," the Assurian representative interluded. "Their officers are awaiting orders from the Military Command. I have the list right here, in fact..." The man popped open suitcase, proceeding to distribute a few papers. "Shall we forward the directives to Military Command, then?" the Chief Officer questioned, studying his peers. "To pursuit the Buroh Empire out of the territories of the Sylvarian Empire and into their own, until peace is signed between said parties or the effort is otherwise terminated," said an Antovan. The rest nodded in agreement.

Emperor Valus Farlyre, S.E.S. Atlantis I read the reports from the Alliance, and I couldnt have felt more relieved, an army large enough to bolster our strength to push the Buroh out. Whoever it was that decided they could retake us, I would have their head embalmed as a trophy. General Batal, Contact in Hearth Forest "We've flushed out the silent ones," I reported as the helicopters made their strafing runs on us, barely 100 feet from my position "It's time the Raven eats the Snake." The Wolfires had pulled around from the south and in minutes were launching guided missiles at the gunships, behind them two Pegasus gunships came bearing down far behind them, soon we'd have the skies, unless you were entrenched in the trees with rocket launchers you couldn't hit anything in the skies, something i should have thought of earlier. There was no way I was losing this one, I lobbed a grenade into the clusterfuck that was in the clearing where we opened fire, Atunael knows what losses any side was having. |

3rd Army, Hearth Forest 313 March 26: 12:22 P.M. The missiles burst into the sky even as the Buroh helicopters fell. Though the troops in the hills couldn't return fire, the SAM units roaming the coast could--and they did, engaging the Sylvarian fighters and helicopters until the Buroh air force arrived. At that point, another air battle broke out. Skies Above the Border 313 March 26: 05:42 P.M. The Sylvarian air force had been allowed to survive for far too long. To date, it had done the most damage to Buroh forces--fighting tooth and nail for every inch of the sky, and constantly attacking Buroh ground forces. It's existence kept the Buroh Imperial Army at a standstill--advancing into territory tightly controlled by the enemy was inadvisable. Consequently, the Buroh commanders doubled their efforts to destroy the Sylvarian air fields. Another grand air strike was launched--over a hundred fighters penetrating the Buroh skies to engage the defenders in the skies. Another hundred weren't far behind, and even the bomber force was taking off from airfields across the Empire. Hundreds of kilometers from the Buroh coasts, the submarines that had disappeared days earlier rose from the depths again. Still remaining beneath the sea, they launched another four cruise missiles each at targets throughout the western Sylvarian Empire, before slipping back beneath the waves. Within minutes, key Sylvarian air force installations would find themselves assaulted. |

General Joreg Koch, Midway between Ravenne and Erundur April, 19th, 313 RE They had finally met up with the Sylvarian Army after a day of travel on one the Sylvarian highways, he had briefed about the situation that the Sylvarian were facing. They had already lost an entire city, and most of it's population, the enemy was slowly advancing day by day slowly taking more Sylvarian land. "Honestly, you need all the help they can get." spoke Joreg as he looked at the reports given to him by his Sylvarian Advisers. He then looked over to the other man in the room. His name was Batal and he was the man in charge of the Sylvarian forces, he had been recalled from the battlefield to have this meeting with to discuss their tactics. ''Well General Masyaf , are you ready to begin ?" Edited by Blacaria, Jun 17 2013, 06:54 AM.

(OOC it's Masyaf, Batal is up north) "We are well prepared to begin the march to take back Ravenne, we have half of our legions available in the south and are gathered a klick from this meeting, our Starfire and Vindicator Regiments will take to the siege lines, and our scorpions are ready to scout ahead. our Guardians and Crawlers make the bulk of our force and will join up with the Quatre forces up ahead, we also have roughly 80,000 footsoldiers on hand to roll in with the Flatback APCs, we can look at the plans our ops teams have reported from the city." Masyaf said spreading out a map of Ravenne, "Enemy SAM positions are in these locations, if we can take them out we can have air-support defend extractions and drops." |

Gilmore Pass April 20, 313 It'd been a long few weeks. The Buroh and Sylvarian Air Forces were still duking it out for the skies. After the Buroh attempt to crush the Sylvarian air forces, neither really made a bid for air superiority--as the enemy's SAM shields made any such attempts hell. The Bruoh forces on the front were locked in place, awaiting reinforcements as the population of Ravenne was taken away, never to return. Now, nearly a month later, the time was right. Buroh army troops had had a flurry of activity in the recent week, forces all along the front launching feint attacks, testing Sylvarian defenses. On the morning of April 20, the real attack came. Rocket artillery rained on the Sylvarian forces, with more tactical and surgical strikes being launched by the Buroh bombers, which let loose volleys of cruise-missile fire deep into Sylvarian lines. After the rockets, artillery rained, blasting into the forest edge that the Sylvarians had fortified over the month. At sunup, after the last Buroh artillery pieces fell silent, the Buroh Imperial Army moved. A full assault, along the entire line. All hundred-twenty-thousand front line troopers. Tanks lead the push, closing in on the main roads, through areas cleared of any mines by the artillery barrage. Attack helicopters were deployed, flying low beneath SAM radar cover. Hearth Forest The battle in the north had gridlocked as well, as the Sylvarians funneled reinforcements into the grounds. The forest itself had become a charred mess, mangled by artillery barrages from both sides over the weeks. There was a perpetual stench of blood, char, and metal. Indeed, the skeletons of armored vehicles dotted the killing field between the Buroh and Sylvarian lines. It had become a war of attrition, the force along the coastal plains unable to advance, the force along Hearth forest incapable of outflanking the opposition, and the force in the Sylvarian Valley locked in it's own battle. Ikariun Sea The submarines had remained silent over the previous month, biding it's time. Antovan, Assurian, and Kingbroughian vessels had joined the hunt for them, though none had the resources in the Ikariun Sea to actually find the fleet in it's depths. Consequently, they went undetected, until they rose to twenty-meters beneath the sea's surface and let loose another barrage, this time targeting the Sylvarian navy's fleet. |

S.E.S. Atlantis, Emperor Valus Farlyre, April 21, 313 The reports kept coming in, The Buroh Forces had nearly demolished the forest guarding them for so long and were making their final push into the homeland, the armies were prepared to make a counter attack on Ravenne to try and retake it and the army up north was still at a stalemate defending Herucorm. "General Hamza," I said as I entered the meeting room, "What is left for us? The Alliance sent us aid but so far it's still not enough, our intel sports that they outnumber us 2:1." He looked up at me with his cold grey eyes, we need better tactics, hit them from behind, we can try to find more allies to join our cause but for now all we can do is try to push back. Herucorm entrenchment, 100 km from Herucorm April 22, 313 The Starfires lined up again and released another salvo on the incoming forces. The artillery strikes had gone daily against the Buroh advancement, and Orca bombers were prepared to cause more trouble once the SAM capabilities of the enemy were disabled, but that would be a while. a rough 10,000 men died when General Batal planted the ambush on an army leading through the forest, the 70,000 had regrouped at the defense line, as well as an additional 7,000 Golden Falcons, finally summoned to the front, the best of the best as they say. General Batal was a very brazen man, willing to make unorthodox tactics against the enemy. As seen by the bold and daring ambush. The Defense Line was rigged with lines explosives for each fallback to cause more damage to the advancing enemies, a sound plan. despite the slow move from the Buroh due to the intense harassment by artillery strikes and more or less daring airstrikes armed with Area-of-effect weapons. |

Aberlein, Burohian Empire 313, April 23 "The front hasn't advanced, Sire." Kalo flinched, moments before he raised his broadsword and brought it down on a cowering man. The man's own blade rushed to block, though Kalo's brute strength easily overwhelmed him, knocking the blade aside as the broadsword jammed into the man's forehead. Kalo's strength pressed, attempting to cut through. It failed. Kalo kicked the body away from him, leaving the sword stuck. "Why? Why?? Why??" Kalo boomed. "We're supposed to be well into their blasted slave state already. And where are the new shipments?" "I apologize, Sire," the aid said quickly, stepping away from the towering man. "But the slaves seem to have grown in numbers and strength." "Bah! Where are the new slaves?" "We've spread them out, sire." Kalo nodded, scowling slightly. "But sire... I must point out, the people are growing restless. Since the invasion began, productivity has been steadily decreasing. There's even rumors of insurrection." The Emperor's eyes burned with fury, then. "Insurrection??" he demanded. "Who would dare rebel against my throne?" "I'm not sure, sire," the aid returned, stepping back again. He was beginning to sweat. The metallic stench of blood was also beginning to become unbearable, as the dead man leaked a sizable puddle on the floor. "Find out. Execute them." Ravenne Front Mayzen stared at the reports. The front had reached a deadlock. His forces weren't strong enough to push through, while the enemy was in much the same position. Casualties had reached a few thousand, simply attempting to penetrate the fortifications. The air force was incapable of crushing the opposition and, to make matters worse, supplies were beginning to dwindle. Indeed, the logistics line were thinning. Not significantly, but if the situation worsened, his troops would find themselves without bullets and food in very hostile territory. He sighed, reaching his the phone to his communications officer. The attack would be called off to conserve resources. The Buroh were now on the defensive. |

S.E.S. Atlantis, Emperor Valus Farlyre, April 24, 313 The Buroh were falling back. I couldn't believe the reports, "Proceed with a counterattack up north, move your army to intercept." I told Hamza, "Keep Masyaf moving with the QA army on Ravenne, we need to take the city back." Herucorm Defense Line With the Buroh army on the retreat it was easy to make missile strikes against them, they had yet to make a fight for inches but the Sylvarian air-sphere was moving ever so steadilly... Outskirts of Ravenne, General Masyaf We were out of the enemy's range for now, I ordered for a meeting with the QA general to discuss the battleplan. I had Several Gold Falcon teams on hand for my plans should they go through. I had the Emperor's blessing and two Death Squads available. |

((OOC: No... the Buroh aren't retreating... they just stopped advancing.)) Gilmore Front 313, April 24 Defend the gains. Those were the orders passed down from Mayzen's desk. Indeed, over the month, the Buroh had constructed their own fortifications--it was a natural part of war. They'd abandoned them to pursue an offensive, though were now forced to return to their positions and await the onslaught, to bleed the slaves. Several vehicles were dug in as well, behind dunes--only their guns sticking out from atop, all aimed at the west. Artillery positions weren't far behind, still within range to make a Sylvarian advance bloody. The line was well outside Ravenne. Herucrom Front The Sylvarian airstrikes met fierce resistance. Though the Buroh had retreated to their lines, SAM still covered their positions, with fighters flying in to intercept the Sylvarian aircraft every so often. |

Herucorm Front, General Batal April 26, 314 "GO!" I shouted, the trucks, being driven by Dishonored from Herucorm, were prepared to regain their honor in battle. The trucks drove at full speed towards the Buroh installations, most of them dodging the incoming fire the ones that didn't make it to the lines exploded in balls of flame as shells struck them at high velocities. The few that made it to the lines crashed into the walls, delivering payloads of napalm onto the structures, some having enough TNT to cause serious damage. Those brave men have made their peace with Atunael, may He restore their honor and grant them entrance to Paradise. The truck explosions were followed up by missiles from the Orca Bombers, Tachyon-5 rockets flew down past the no-man's land, the anti-missile systems targeting and disabling many before they hit their targets. The Short Wave EMP's went off, a range of 500m each, leaving large holes in the Buroh Defensive Lines. "All units, Advance at full speed." I relayed through the comm. Wolfires and Razerbeaks raced ahead, engaging the enemy aircraft that weren't grounded. the Vindicator Vanguard pushed ahead, all tanks engaging while moving, clashing on the front lines. APCs ground to a halt and disembarked soldiers into hot LZs. Edited by Valus, Jun 23 2013, 07:49 AM.
