As per Dom's request, I've posted a question and answer thread for Tyras.

To address the whole "Union" issue, let me try to explain that. I'm more or less trying to act out a scenario that I never got far with in a couple rps, tweaked somewhat to fit this world's rp. Those other rps had Tyras being multiethnic, the "union" came from the union of various ethnicities under a common banner. Currently though, the "union" arose from Tyras being historically split between two nations, the one taking over the other by force. Both were ruled by separate ruling families, the conquered one, Patrioni, kept some of the local holds. Thus the union at present arises from the forced union between these two dynasties. The conquering family line is the Artani's.

At some point there is no Artani male heir to the Tyrian throne, and there is a fear of the Patrioni being able to take over the throne. The Artani comes up with the idea of marrying into another royal house, the Bondes, hoping the influential Bonde family would be able to stabilize the political situation. This backfires when the military coups the monarchy over perceived foreign meddling in Tyras and attempting to make it part of the Lanlanian "Empire." The Skeletons in the Closet rp is supposed to deal with this subject some. The "Union" part of the name was just carried over more or less.

My original scenario had little to do with a royal family or monarchy, so I'm still trying to work some things out in my head. :P

Ah ok that makes sense. I may arrange for Jandrean officials to make a visit up there sometime.
