I'm guessing too many treats and not enough pellets.

Hay is good to give daily, but the other treats should only be occasional.

He might just be molting, or maybe he had a matt there and he pulled it out in one patch when he was grooming himself. Or maybe he's trying to get some attention from the ladies LOL

Has he been wormed? just because you don't see worms doesn't mean they are not there. I'd worm him just in case, can't hurt. I'd give him some ivormectin, just in case its fur mites, and maybe even corrid if nothing else helps.

I hope he starts feeling better :)
I know he means the world to you :big-hug:

That wont work, I dont give him treat often I just started 3 days ago this has been going on for a while so It can be those

As for Mites or the molting no he is constantly brushed and my fuzzies rarely get mats unless they are jrs. no mites because I would definately have noticed them!

I'll try dewormer but thats more than likely unecessary. I probally would have noticed if it was worms but you can see some like you said, but thanks for the tips!

Megan

you dont suppose its an intestional problem? Or internal like stomach?

thats what the corrid is for - tummy troubles, like some kind of internal irritation.

you can also try baby gas drops too - if you think it might just be an upset tummy.

If he's eating, drinking, peeing and pooping I would just monitor him closely. But if he's not doing anything else you might need meds. Metocloprimide (SP?) is a good medicine to restore a lost appetite, and we have used Critical Care to force feed. It comes in a powder form, like crushed rabbit pellets and hay - you mix it with water to make it as thin or thick and you need it to be.

We've never had a worm issue, but we do preventative maintnance. I was told that they can have them w/o you knowing because they might just be eating the poo that would have the worms in them.

good luck with your little man ;)

Hello Fuzz,
have you thought about Coccidiosis?
You may want to treat for that. Also:
Be sure to sweep the cling-ons from
the cage floor within 24 hours. It takes
that long for the Oocysts to become infective.
Coccidiosis will cause a rabbit to be rundown
left untreated it can easily lead to death.

hmmm, his cage is always clean and I always keep his food and water bowls clean no fur or poo. How long before the rabbit dies. This has been going on for about 2 months. However I am very happy to report that his fur is 70% back just a little more growing but I did see him try to pull some out yesterday but I stopped him and gave him hay to munch on. He stopped laying down and seems to have grown larger which is a good sign. I hope he keeps improving!!!
