Located just north of Providence, Rhode Island's capital, Bayside is a neighboring residential area, an area with plenty of history and excellent scenery. Most visitors pause here on their way through the state, usually grabbing a hotel room in the infamous Z's in Downtown. The shopping center in town is one of the biggest in the area and the school system is renowned. blah blah...to be edited...

Winter Weather Still Strong as Ever!

As we enter the second week of winter, we at the Gazette would like to continue to encourage all of those in town to visit the Frozen Pond at some point or another in order to go for a quick skate or even organize a townwide hockey game. Captain Randall is always up for a game, as we've discovered in the past, and perhaps this could be the year we finally get Commissioner Gordon to join in on the fun!

As winter has officially arrived, we here at the Gazette urge all to stay away from the waters of the Beach. Hypothermia is never fun!

Wishes of Safety
Gazette Staff is pleased to announce that intern Jordan Dover has officially left for his season long correspondence with the New York Times in Launglyn. His writing on the happenings in war torn Launglyn will help us all to keep on top of the current events and happenings. Every safety to him as he makes his journey and we'll be glad to see him again towards the end of Spring!

Police News

Commissioner Gordon would, once again, like us to inform you that skinny dipping is bad. Remember, Gordon's one to look on the legal side of things and...well, who would really want to go for a dip in the Ocean during the second week of winter?

Other than that, Bayside's looking good on the police front!

Weather

Sunday: Winter hits full force today, flinging frozen rain and frigid temperatures at us poor saps living in Bayside! Unfortunately, temperatures will drop towards midday and we encourage everyone to remain indoors for most of the day. The evening includes the first full moon of the season, yet the weather will be just as poor in the late evening, causing visibility problems that will make it difficult to even see the full moon.
Monday: Monday will warm up, but only just barely! Our frozen rain will have mostly dissipated, offering a weak and slightly hesitant sunshine by midmorning. Temperatures will drop to rest in the high 30s by midevening.
Tuesday: Unlike Monday, Tuesday offers no sun and a freezing wind. Prepare yourself! It should snow come midday, the flakes falling until late into the evening, perhaps even carrying on into Wednesday.
Wednesday: We at the Gazette are predicting a snow day for all students (not including those at BVU!) for Wednesday! The rain and snow from Tuesday will, most likely, have created ice on the roads and conditions to risky for buses to navigate. We suggest remaining indoors with your families and enjoying a cup of cocoa or even building a snowman.
Thursday: Thursday offers the warmest day of the week, even going so far as to offer a bright, sunny morning. Temperatures will hover somewhere in the high forties, perhaps even low fifties, for the most part. But don't think that signifies the end of Winter. Temperatures will be right back down in the thirties come late evening.
Friday: Flurries will continue throughout the day on Friday, coupled with winds that will whip at your face as your walking down the sidewalk. Though the temperature will be in the low forties, it'll certainly feel much colder with windchill.
Saturday: Saturday will begin nearly as warm as Thursday, but temperatures are expected to drop fairly soon. Come midday, the temperature is expected to be about 37 at highest and the weather staff here at the Gazette are saying to prepare yourselves for quite the storm that evening.
