Does anyone know what the significance is whether a piece has a raised mold mark (as most pieces do) vs. having an incised (indented) mold mark? I think I read somewhere this means that the piece was an original that a mold was made from, but that doesn't make any sense to me. If a mold was made from an incised piece, all the pieces made from that mold would also be incised. Also, I have several of these pieces in my collection and although my collection is fairly large, it seems unlikely that I would have so many "originals". Can anyone shed some light on this? |

Hi Kim, The incised marks are the earlier mould marks. I've also been told that some of the pieces were marked by hand so they would have the very early incised marks. Hope that helps answer your question. Diana |
