4.5"x3.5"x1.5" This small dish has a predominately red glaze, with streaks of black and brown and a gloss white underglaze. I've not seen this glaze before but I believe that the script bmp mark on the base was the one done by Dennis Tupy and that would date it to sometime in the 50's. ![]() ![]()

What a rare color, never seen this freeform dish in red. It comes in 2 sizes, I believe Kim pictured the large size under blob dish. Alan, is yours the small 4-1/2 inches by 3 and a bit inches. #18 or #19 in the 50's My large one is in what I call tricolor, the little one is an early blue possibly aurora borealis and it's unmarked. ![]()

It's the smaller one Grace. I'll add the dimensions to the post. If you find out the catalogue number please let me know and I'll add that as well. I was very pleased to get hold of it as I thought there was going to be a lot more interest in it. It arrived just in time for me to get some pictures sent in for the BMPCC red project. |

My large "blob" dish is here: Click here <--- I have a small one now too, but just in the regular green color. Mine is also unmarked and the hole is very rough, not like Alan's dish, which has a very smooth one. I can't tell from the picture; does yours even have a hole, Grace (the small one)? It's also very unusual with the white underneath. Grace, I've seen the glaze which you call tricolor also referred to as "Turquoise and Plum". |

I don't know which catalogue Grace is looking at but in the ones I have these show as 18a and 18b. The larger one is the "A". Very nice find Alan

It is an interesting dish, mine has probably a smaller hole than Allan's (1/2") and no white glaze on the bottom, it's just unshiny from the grinding off of the stilt pieces. Must apology for the picture as the camera batteries died before I got a clear shot. Catalogue does list them as 18a and b as Diana says, but, if this is the free form dish, it's listed on another list as #19. I'd go with the catalogue #18 thou. |
