I'm not going to be so gauche to assume that if you're in here that you're new. Everyone needs to know something every so often.

So basically, if you have any questions about NationStates, the forums or what exactly we do here, post away and everyone will do their best to answer you.

Of course, it is entirely fine to ask NS/Forum based questions. However, there are limits. We certainly aren't going to be telling you where babies come from. This is the internet and there are plenty of sites besides this one to satisfy that curiosity :split:

So post you questions and we'll try to help you out. :flag:

Just PM any of the moderating team, and they will reply back with the password for the Member's Lounge.

I've moved to Australia, but I can't post a regional message. Why is this?

Depending on length and content, there can be restrictions on postings. Otherwise, I don't know why there would be restrictions on postings . . .

Have you done anything in the past (in other regions) to have receive any form of reprimand?

from the NationStates FAQ pages:

Current Bugs & Issues
This page was created to keep players up to date with game problems and bugs. Originally the forum served that purpose, but then it developed its own problems. Ah yes, cruel irony.

If a problem is listed here, then admin is aware of it and working on a solution (at admin's own glacial pace).

Forum: There's currently some weirdness going on in relation to validating e-mail addresses for the Jolt forum. We don't need bug reports for this as the logs are automatically accumulating data. Update (09-Feb-05): Fixed erroneous "This account has already been validated" messages.
Forum [server says it sent a verification e-mail, but you haven't received it]: Most people are getting their e-mails, so this is most likely a problem at your end. Make sure that you entered your e-mail address correctly (typos can be sneaky). If you or your ISP run a spam filter, try to make sure it's not catching the NationStates e-mail; if you can, whitelist "nationstates.net".
Issues not updating: This used to be a common bug, but is now rare. Nations find that their populations are not increasing and that issues sit forever waiting to be either dismissed or have their legislaction enacted. If they endorse another nation, their endorsements vanish the next day. They are not included in their region's list of all nations. If you are affected by this bug, you can manually fix it by changing regions, then back. This works because the fundamental problem is that your region has dropped your nation from its list of members, and this procedure adds you back. As mentioned, this bug is rare, and generally only crops up in very populous regions (e.g. the Pacific regions).
Population rapidly increases: The famous (and much coveted) 'population bug' is actually the flip side to the 'issues not updating bug': instead of being updated zero times per update, nations with the population bug are updated two times. This means they gain population at twice the rate of other nations, receive twice as many issues as they request, and, if they are WA members, are doubly affected by WA resolutions. When we're sure we've got this bug squished, we'll run a job to scale back everyone's population to where it should have been, so it's only a temporary boost.
Forum (You don't get logged in): Jolt upgraded it's forums to the newest, latest, and greatest version. Unfortunately, they broke our connection in the process. We're actively working on this problem. Until then, you may be able to login by going to the forums directly at http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1235. You can login in the upper right with your nation's name and password. I don't promise that this will work though.
Forum (You are "banned" permanently with no reason given): This is the other side of the "You don't get logged in" problem. We're working on fixing this. Please check to ensure that you've set an email address with your nation. If you still get that error, please submit a Getting Help request.
