I'm waiting for a report from our Foreign affairs minister. I assume you've been talking?

Not for a few weeks. He left a message when he just got into the post, but haven't heard anything since.

Prime Minister / UN Delegate – Chaucerin
Population: 190 Nations
http://www.equilism.org/forum/index.php?act=idx

The new administration has recently announced its nominees for its cabinet. They nominees are now at a vote, and they include:

Executive Branch
Vice President: Tse Moana
Military Minister: Adyndril
Minister of Intelligence: Westwind
Minister of Foreign Affairs: Neo-Conservatism
Minister of Immigration: Equility
Minister of Internal Affairs: Zapvilla

Army Commanders:
Westwind, Equility

In addition, the new judicial nominees have also been announced, and are up for a vote as well:

Chief Justice: Bismarcia
Justices: Tse Moana, Grothistan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Neo-Conservatism, has launched a re-hauling of the department, aimed at taking a long hard look at what type of alliances we should involve ourselves with, who should be granted an embassy at our forums, and similar questions.

The UN Resolution “Universal Library Coalition” is at vote, and is currently down 14-0.

The Equilism members have also had quite a bit of fun lately, particularly in the popular threads Who will post next?, and the Word association game. The region is also forming a fantasy baseball league, with a draft slated for next Saturday.

Lastly, the E-Army has seen action in both the regions of Space, and in Seattle. The E-Army’s own Sub-Actuality has also graciously created and offered to add official E-Army rank insignia’s to each soldier’s avatar.

Thanks for the Happies. I'm sorry I've been away but that situation was beyond me. But I'm here again. And I present the UPDATE.

The Cabinet selections for the new administration, announced last week, have been ratified by the populous, receiving the overwhelming vote of 17-0.

The Judicial nominees have also been ratified, 17-1-2.

In other election news, Koona, our former Immigration Minister, has been voted into the office of Senator, receiving a vote of 18-0-1.

Two other members, one old face and one new one, Grothistan and Taywood have announced their candidacy for Senate. They are currently answering questions in their candidacy threads.

Due to unfortunate occurrences, our very own Senator Notherfork has resigned from his Senate seat. His resignation notice can be read here:

In UN news, Equilism voted against the UN World Organ Donor Center 0-13, and the current UN resolution, the International Court of Justice, is now at vote, and is down 2-13.

The E-Army has participated in the defense of The New Roman Empire, once again showing that the E-Army is one of the most professional and effective fighting units in all of NationStates.

Lastly, the Equilism Fantasy Baseball draft took place over the weekend, and the season is shaping up to be quite competitive and lively indeed.

I hope tha talks go well.

Here's the WU, and its been another week with no word from you all. I hate to keep pressing this, but as there's all ready some hesitance in my government on heading into an alliance with you all, I'd really suggest you guys get moving.

I definately support an alliance, but the longer it takes, the more doubt will creep into my government

As was announced last week, Grothistan and Taywood announced their candidacy for two of the vacant Senate seats. Voting on them has been completed, with Grothistan being elected by a margin of 20-0 while Taywood was voted down.

Zorn Uzkul has also recently run for Senate, and voting on his bid is currently underway. His is up 16-0 at this point.

Due to the election of Moldavi as Senator in the Meritocracy, Equilism has closed down its embassy in the Meritocracy, as well as the Meritocracy’s embassy in Equilism. The full text of the announcement can be found here:

Sub-Actuality is currently taking the E-Army Officer’s Course.

On a lighter note, the finalists for the Miss Equilism 2005 contest are at a vote. They include Tse Moana, Moo-cows with guns, and Grothistan.

Other popular contests include the create-a-caption, which is in its 8th incarnation, and the seemingly endless word association game, now on its 103rd page.

Zorn Uzkul has been elected to the Senate. He passed by a margin of 16-0-2.

On the UN front, Equilism voted against the Eradicate Smallpox UN Resolution 1-12. Voting on the UN Peace Prize Resolution is currently going on, and is tied at 5-5.

Culminating a three-week long Foreign Affairs summit, Equilism is proud to announce new guidelines that will be put in place regarding the establishment of embassies and consulates, as well as the approval of alliances. The idea is to create a uniform system to equally evalute the pros and cons of each level of relations with another region. The documents themselves can be found here:

Immigration is kicking off a new recruitment drive, and it is all ready paying off. The region grew by over twenty five nations in the past week alone. Great job guys!

Some very passionate yet civil debates have been going on as of late. Two especially notable topics have been the Schiavo case and just what to do with Saudi Arabia.

The Miss Equilism 2005 contest is over with Moo-Cows with Guns being our new Beauty. :D
