girls are only weird because men don't understand. a man's world tends to be more simple (thats a statement, not an insult), while girls can sometimes overcomplicate things.

on the other hand, females tend to understand males quite well!

hahahahahaha!

almost. almost. but just not quite....

though simple, simple is good. My world is not simple. But then I guess im not an average guy, More of a one percenter, im a complete anomaly, just a little rare. Not necessarily all in a good way.

I can understand one or two people well, and yet never guess what they are going to do next, while i can predict certain people like clockwork (one of my female housemates comes to mind), but never understand them.

French absinthe-> illegal in france, but not here. I still have half a bottle and i have to say its a lot smoothert than the czech stuff (which is about 90% vol)

that was pretty random.

What am I doing here? (not a philisophical question, more of a why arent i doing something else? sort of question)

it was more of a generalisation than anything else. Of course it doesn't apply to everyone.

I'd like to think I'm a girl who likes to keep things simple. Complications mean you have to think harder :)

Actually, I would have figured that prediction would come with understanding (even if not the other way around). Or is understanding more helpful after, not before, the situation?

Is real understanding truly achievable?

Yes, that's me in a toga.
Don't go there with the understanding issue. Academics give themselves severe wedgies over that question, regarding whether the twaddle they're writing is really knowledge, or a real understanding of the world around us. There's a school called the History and Philosophy of Science who loves all this stuff, but it just complicates things for most people.

E.g. A Door. Is that door real? Can we understand the doorness of that door? Is it an ontologically abstract existence or does it have epistomological foundations?

.....sorry. This should go under Random Thoughts, and I'm still not in the best of spirits at the moment.

Complications, especially necessary complications, requires thinking. Keeping things too simple sometimes means more headaches and less desirable consequences in future.

...and given I'm still a little flu-ish, I didn't realise I made my comment under Random Thoughts after all...

Oh complications are good in the right circumstance. We can't really live without them. I just prefer to keep them out of the picture unless they're necessary otherwise i can get mixed up with whats going on.

you really do take it at face value! :) I was joking quite a bit.

THe idea made me laugh thats all.

Simple is still good. Complicated. ARGH! complicated people are okay if they dont have violent tempers. Unfortunatley my complicated housemate is a pretty little bomb!

Penguin's thoughts from the weekend:

1) If someone has consumed in excess of 40 standard drinks at a party, and you know that they can tolerate this (and normally do so), and they are dancing around like a git, hugging everyone and having a great time, then this is OK, and it is perfectly acceptable to offer them drinks and cigarettes. :D

2) If the same person then fractures their tibia and/or fibula after twisting their ankle, then falls over screaming in pain, rating this pain as 10/10, and then proceeds to vomit from the pain, while laying on the ground in a semi-conscious state (in their own vomit); then this is not OK and it is not a good idea to continue offering them cigarettes and alcoholic refreshments. <_<

3) Furthermore, if you are not a doctor/nurse/paramedic, and are not directly involved in assessing or treating the patient, or maintaining their airway, while the ambos arrive, then you really should piss off out of the way and let the people who know what they are doing, do what they need to do. If you are the host of the party, then it is a really good idea to turn the music down so the patient can be heard, and it is a really, really, really good idea to get all bystanders away from the patient. This includes histerical, pushy, slutty ho girlfriends.

4) If you haven't done a senior first aid course - go and do one.

If i'm correct in assuming that you're talking about yourself.... you better hope that your girlfriend doesn't see the above 'slutty ho' comment.

If I'm incorrect ... well....

Who was the snapperhead?

However, I too went to a all drinking bingeing house party... and got a total of two hours of sleep :(
