Saw '300' - the acting is gosh-awful, really truly bloody terrible but the spec effects are great - the action scenes are really cool and the story-line works [well, it did for me!].

All in all, I liked it - hey, what does anyone know about the Rodriguez/Tarantino double feature? That is exactly my kind of cinema experience [we are HUGE Rodriguez fans here, Tarantino is pretty good - loved Kill Bill].

A few friends have been talking up "300", and I am now wondering why?

Anyway, went and saw the Dylan Moran show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival last Thursday night: it was brilliant.

He went on and on about the Germans - solid gold!

arghhh! B&B, I affectionately hate you!!!!

Dylan Moran tickets were sold out in Brisbane immediately upon release - both shows. Not happy, Jan. Absolutely fuming jealous that you got to see him.

All my fav Irish comedians are in Melbourne right now, even Ardal O'Hanlon *tears up and cries likes a baby*. Oh my kingdom for a Dougal.

I just hope they come back next year, I have plans to run away to Melbourne for the comedy festival in 2008.

And, Anarch, my dear, we must do something about your film education. What has Robert Rodriguez done?!!!!! Just kidding, he's not as well known as some. From Dusk till Dawn [a must see], Desperado, The Faculty, Spykids, Sin City...he's a cool guy, good sense of humour and likes to do things his own way.

His motivation to succeed was a letter he received from the mother of an ex-girlfriend. The letter basically told him in no uncertain terms that he would never achieve anything in his life. He stuck it above his desk where he would see it everyday. The rest, as they say, is history :).

Has anyone ever met anyone whose favourite colour was brown? I doubt it :) so a hip hip hooray for the underappreciated colours that do their job without any notice or fuss :D

No, can't say I have.

In the tradition of Billy Connolly [whom I love dearly], I am an enemy of beige :P .

It is not a colour, it is an illness.

One of the topics in the entertainment thread is worst ever business names. The following business names are perfectly fine but somebody didn't proof read how they'd look in a web address.

Quote:

The top 10 unintentionally worst company URLs

Attn: Entrepeneurs

Everyone knows that if you are going to operate a business in today’s world you need a domain name. It is advisable to look at the domain name selected as other see it and not just as you think it looks. Failure to do this may result in situations such as the following (legitimate) companies who deal in everyday humdrum products and services but clearly didn’t give their domain names enough consideration:

1. A site called ‘Who Represents‘ where you can find the name of the agent that represents a celebrity. Their domain name… wait for it… is www.whorepresents.com

2. Experts Exchange, a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views at www.expertsexchange.com

3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at www.penisland.net

4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at www.therapistfinder.com

5. Then of course, there’s the Italian Power Generator company… www.powergenitalia.com

6. And now, we have the Mole Station Native Nursery, based in New South Wales: www.molestationnursery.com

7. If you’re looking for computer software, there’s always www.ipanywhere.com

8. Welcome to the First Cumming Methodist Church. Their website is www.cummingfirst.com

9. Then, of course, there’s these brainless art designers, and their whacky website: www.speedofart.com

10. Want to holiday in Lake Tahoe? Try their brochure website at www.gotahoe.com

I've heard bad things about 300 but I don't really care. I just finished reading 'The Lord of the Silver Bow' by David Gemmell. I'm really in the mood for a Bronze Age Greek movie right now.

Also I really recommend that book. Get it and read it. Now!!

*shakes fist threateningly*
