1. i agree, B&B, i work in Learning Enrichment in high schools & primary [a pc way of saying Spec Needs] and mixed ability sucks - its a bureaucratic ideal that is stupid and unfair to teachers and students. Streamed classes are a dream come true - I didn't think I'd see it in my time. End of my rant
2. I KNOW!!!!!!! I heard him the other day - it's truly bizzare, particularly considering that the competitors in the game I watched were teenage girls! |

As long as there's bacon and egg involved, I'm happy
Random thought: I received this in an email today THE FINAL WORD ON NUTRITION After an exhaustive review of the research literature, here's the final word on nutrition and health: 1. Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us. 2. Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us. 3. Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us. 4. Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us. 5. Germans drink beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than us. CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you |

lol - there are some lovely cafe districts here in Bris but some are a little 'snootier' than others. I love good coffee [Brisbane brand Merlot is fantastic, a definite must if you can get your hands on it] but I often fail to understand the snobbery of some wait staff in what we fondly call the 'swish' suburbs. I am always polite to hospitality staff [done my time already in that industry:)] and enjoy tipping for good service but I don't get the 'holier than thou' attitude. I mean, there's no shame in being a waitperson but it's not like they're saving lives. Hold that thought - maybe they are as there is a good chance someone could sustain a serious injury if I don't get good coffee on a regular basis.

there is a little cafe near me called Serenity - they do fantastic coffe and the most delicious orange almond cake - big, soft sofas and cool music - and the staff save lives without making me feel like something they scraped off their shoe

A swig of schnapps? Well, food is generally more expensive in Canberra (or appears so as back in Sydney I lived nearby the uni which meant the restaurants nearby were often cheaper to cater to the student trade) so I have toast at home. Boring. And breakfast isn't offered at lunch or nighttime here, so far as I can tell. But as I haven't been able to afford such frequent breakfasting here I can't verify my claim. |
