Been away for a bit. Still seeking graduate employment which kinda sucks. I've got a group task/written assessment next Monday. Only done that once. Still sweating it out for my Workplace Relations placement, of which I'll be notified of my success/failure in October. Really nervous as I have to try to get something this year. Beggars can't be choosers! My taste in music is still all-80s, but for variety I've been listening to a few other things. Hip-hop generally doesn't appeal, but I've listened to some 'old stuff' by Dr Dre and Ice Cube. Not too bad, but I still don't like hip hop/gangster rap in general. I remember some article several weeks back said that 'kids' these days (I consider myself to be old, crusty and surly these days) are more likely to have sex at an earlier age (under 14 years old?? Ewww) thanks to the prevalence and popularity of hip-hop and their sexually suggestive and persuasive lyrics. Do people think this is true?? And I'm listening to some Depeche Mode. Kinda in between late 80s-early 90s? Not bad, but a little bleak. |

yeah i read that article - it must be true, mustn't it?? it certainly aint making the kids go out and help old people across the street, or feed the third world, now is it?? when im more awake i'll come up with a more coherent argument. |

Well, since I'm already logged on the boards I might as well update what's doing in my life. (I still can't get over that bombshell in the UN Delegate thread. Jesus.) People probably already know I was almost selected onto a jury panel, and was amused at the way in which people tried to get out of it. Those with an ethnic background probably fared best- pretended that English was not their strongest suit. Had I reached back to my Chinese roots and tried to bluff the judge with some dodgy Mandarin or Cantonese I might've got out of it. In the end I wasn't needed. I've been through quite a number of recruitment and selection tests, and screwed up each and every one. Good practice though for doing a similar assessment in future, but I certainly didn't do my best to persuade the assessors I was their preferred candidate. Am awaiting 'the call' right now from DEWR or Centrelink. The two government organisaions I wanted to try out for right from the beginning. If I don't get the call within the next two weeks. Well, things aren't so rosy, but at least I can stop worrying about it and move on looking for a job elsewhere, or reapplying for grad positions next year. |

well it's time to tell all. On 11th April this year I has a breakdown due to work related issues. I've been clawing my way back to health and normality since then and even now am only working till midday 3 days a week. I apologize for my lack of contact over that time and hope to get back to my usual spamming very soon |

We hope to see you bouncing around soon Westie Oh, and as for me, I got notification for one of the grad programs saying that I was now placed on the reserve list, and may receive an offer if someone withdraws or declines. A maybe is better than a no. And as for the other one (DEWR), am still waiting. My head's in a tizzy waiting for 'the call'. |
