since when do we stop doing things because they're not good for us?
*hugs* I hope you feel better... its not long to go now. You can survive a few weeks! Incidentally, by the time this was posted, I was already in my exam. I know I've passed, but certainly not with flying colours or anything like that. And yeah, i find Seinfeld strangely addictive... Actually, I like the song that they played when they had the last episode. |

Thanks for the hug. And good luck with the exam results. You would love the German Uni system. There are no final marks for a course, you just pass or fail... there is no difference between doing the bare minimum and achieving perfection, which is very frustrating for me, who feels that anything below a distinction average is a failing on my part. The problem is, that lecturers deliberately make the courses extra hard to compensate. As a result I have had to drop one course citing high stress levels. I might take it back up if I feel better after the next two weeks (I have half of my semester's assessment due in this period). Okay, I am off to try and prepare for my apartment inspection. Afterwards, a film, and then off to a house party across town, with a big bottle of Absolut and ingredients for my famous scientifically designed shooter. |

I just had a uni fetish night out! Yes, went as Abe Lincoln a la gaybar video. Was fun. Id like to point out its basically a fetish themed fancy dress with porn playin on the screens. Lots of alcohol and lots of staring at scantily clad "french maids"... |

ahh procrastination - we've all been there! hope that alpal is feeling better Westie :aspro:
No - I have some crazy innate sense of drive, achivement, and wanting to excel (i think partially ingrained into me by my parents) that I can't get rid of no matter how indifferent I try to sound. I still at least try to do well. The thing was, not only do I get bored of studying by the time the day of the exam comes around, I only needed 9/50 to pass the subject (I've done pretty well with other assessments). Those compounded together to result in me not studying so hard for this exam. Anyway, thanks for the good luck The wishes are returned with your uni and stress levels and whatever else you may be needing the luck for!
by the time I get my results I'll be on holiday and I probably won't care
You Europeans are such party animals! :cocktail:
hahahah
Sounds mighty enjoyable - why don't we have that here??? |

A certain melbourne university has a problem with such degrading behaviour. Heck, they even banned Machine Gun Fellatio, for the wrong reason too, had they done it for that "Rollercoaster Toaster" song that got repeated ad nauseam on mainstream radio, I wouldn't have been so pissed off. Anyways, I will write something more meaningful when I recover from this hangover. Too... much... vodka... |

Random Thought: Hot damn it's going to be 42 degrees tomorrow in Sydney
 ! Tonight the weather's calm and cool from the sea breezes that are gently wafting into the 'study room'. It's the calm before the storm: some schools are already recommending the kids not to go in tomorrow on account of the expected heat and the lack of decent A/C or substitute devices. Blackouts possible. I hope we don't have the situation that occurred in Paris that time- I forgot how long back it was (this year?) but all those elderly French people passed away from the extreme heat wave- they didn't have enough provisions for them nor adequate facilities to stash their corpses temporarily  . Hope that doesn't happen. |

Oh yeah, my costume's completed. I don't know how on earth I can sit down in it, or how to comfortably take a whiz whilst wearing it, but it looks okay. |

your wish is my command (i'm using princess purple because it logs me in automatically from home, i culdn't use it atwork because i had forgotten the password) as for video games, as stupid as it sounds they are actually very good for developiong hand eye co-ordination in kids ... mind you by the time you reach 32 that's probably a pretty lame excuse for playing them, but at least its an excuse thathas been scientifically proven! |

Yes, that's me in a toga.

And even if it isn't scientifically proven to be so for 32 year old shoot-em-up or RPG gamers- there's always some excuse that can be conjured up: - re-living a childhood deprived of the benefits of computer games? - becoming more aware and understanding of the kind of games one's own kids will be playing in future? - keeping up with the times? (this could be extended further with some creative thinking and selective contexts) - falling prey to the corporates who are drawing older people to such gaming through hypnotic or shrewdly-targeted marketing and game-genre ploys (corporate greed theory)? - To make us eventually become indoctrinated to do the will of the game's creators through their wonderful games (conspiracy or South Parks' BOMB PEARL HARBOUR! theory)? |
