On the sexuality note, did you hear about that article where they reckon that 1% of adults are 'asexual'? i.e. not ever remotely even attracted to anyone of either sex? I suppose thats an option too....

What...so there attracted to animals or something else thats weird?

No dude, 'asexual' just means no attraction to having sex at all. The freaky sh*t that you were implying e.g. necrophillia, beastiality, those who get turned on by smothering themselves with food (thank you Jerry Springer for enlightening the world on that one) has absolutely no resonance with them, it might even make them even more contemptuous of those who are 'normally' sexually active i.e. with other people.

I know that, im not that stupid :P

Sorry dude, didn't know if your question was genuine or if you were sarcastic :P

I can emulate a ultra-conservative right-wing rant fairly well:

"Sexuality is infuenced by the decadence and moral decay of people in our so-called 'civilised' society today! People need stricture, discipline, boundaries to prevent them from overtly expressing these filthy transgressions!"

"Those promiscuous kids these days need a dose of vitamin Church! That, or a few years of military conscription to set them kids straight!"

Its really weird on my part because, I'm a church goer, but I fully advocate the rights of people whatever their sexuality. I'm not at all conservative, but I really do stand behind the principles of community, support and leading a life of compassion, forgiveness and love that i think the church adheres to.

Did any of that make sense?

Anyway, I've been reading with interest on the on-going issues within the Anglican church (although I'm not anglican) about gay bishops and female clergy and the like.

Wow - you were quite convincing on the right-wing stance though Schnapps :P can you do it for the liberal left, too? :D

Well, Christianity. Im not deeply religeous, but I feel all religeons have something to teach us.

Doesnt matter which one you follow provided you live well and respect other people, and feel bad about the evil you do. As everyone makes mistakes. A good person regrets them.

Anyway, maybe religeon was put in many forms by god to give everyone a chance. Maybe there isnt a god? whatever, I dont believe that the religeon is the important bit, but more how you live. Even atheists should understand that they can learn things frim religeon.

I respect anyone who has a comitment like that provided they can respect my viewpoint too. As it doesnt really clash with theirs. I just ahvent decided on which religeon is most accurate or true. As I dont dobt for a minute that all of them have been corrupted by man. (like the homophobic element in the bible, i dont think it was even meant like that.... i mean i think the emphasis is on perverts, non homosexuals being gay and knowing its not natural for them)

Its not the kissing gods ass part that matters (dont take that as a put down its just my view of certain christains I have met, more concerned with praising god than actually caring about other people), it's following the principles he teaches. Theres no way it could be any other way. Gods by definition are divine and I dont see why constant praise is necessary, as anyone can pray, it takes someone who believes to act like it.

Or I hope so. If not, then there is no heaven, as it would be a bit lame.

oooh I forgot about this thread!

Yeah, religion. I'd go into it further but because its such a subjective topic that cannot be proven right or wrong (on so many levels!) I'd just leave it alone. I'm for religion, but only when it provides a spiritual fulfillment, and the like. I very much dislike how some people twist religion into saying what they want it to say for their own purposes, while conveniently ignoring others.

So.... religion is up to the individual, really!

Yes Schnapps, you are very convincing as the new One Nation or Family First candidate for the next election...

Anyway, on to my random thought...

I learnt a very strange thing today. David Jason... the crusty old fart from A Touch of Frost and The Darling Buds of (must vomit) May was the voice of Danger Mouse and Count Duckula - two of my favourite cartoons when I was little.

I think there's something in that for all of us...

Get out! Really? Danger Mouse AND Count Duckula?

I'm not sure if I mentioned it here on this forum, but do any of you guys know who Warwick Todd is (especially you cricket fans out there)? I discovered one of 'his' book diaries on my dusty shelf and am pissing myself laughing reading it over again  .

Warwick Todd is Tom Gleisner, former member of the ABC's D-generation, The Late Show, and current host of Channel 10's The Panel.

He wrote these books in the late 90's to take the piss from all those cricketers who decided to write tour diaries.

Another pisstake diary was "Mayhem!" by Tim May, former Australian cricketer.

Tom Gleisner also recently wrote a mock travel book entitled "Molvania: A Land Untouched By Modern Dentistry", which was a send-up of all these recently released tour brouchures.

Point of Interest: The man on the front cover, is Santo Cilauro's grandfather. He appeared in a fair few skits on The Late Show.

I've got the Champaigne Edition of The Late Show on DVD  . Hilarious stuff from the early 90s. Too bad it didn't keep going :( .

Speaking of that Molvania book, there's a website for it too (can't remember its URL). But Santo dresses up in some weird space gear for a music video clip parody, aptly titled "Molvania's Eurovision Song Contest entry".

Santo's grandfather (his name is Nono) appeared in a superman costume, as Santo who was made elderly by Judith Lucy's Rejuvinator machine, and played a lot of ethnically stereotyped elderly characters. One of my favourite regular skits was 'Shitscared!' with Rob Stich and Mick Molloy
