I wish the chat room had an alert system. I keep missing people because there's no way of knowing when someone else is on apart from looking. Sorry to whoever I missed this morning.

that's a good point....most chat-boxes have an alert option of some sort ok i've had a look in the bowels of the forum and it appears to me that there is no such feature - anyone else have a clue? i don't claim to have a great deal of tech savvy when it comes to forum settings but i can't see any option regarding alerts Edited by ninjapenguin, Jun 17 2009, 11:48 AM.

David Eddings passes away aged 77 ![]() "I'm never going to be in danger of getting a Nobel prize for literature, I'm a storyteller, not a prophet. I'm just interested in a good story." Thank you for the stories, Mr. Eddings. Rest in Peace. (Re. President Obama - he swatted a fly in an interview with Mr. Miyagi-like concentration and it made news across channels this morning. wt??) |

I quite enjoyed the Elanium and the Tamuli actually but realisitically the plot and even characters are very similar. That said, I think his best was the Redemption of Althalus, regardless of what everyone else tells me. |

I was introduced to David Eddings when I was 13 by my best mate, Thom. I wasn't allowed to read any non-Christian books, especially not fantasy. Thom would lend me his to read at school and occasionally I'd sneak one home to read under my blanket at night (yes with a flashlight ). Eddings' stories made a difficult portion of my life bearable. It's a shame this world has lost his physical presence but he won't be forgotten.
