Hmm, close enough. A lich is really someone who uses dark necromantic rituals to prevent their death by binding their soul into a phylactery, typically an amulet or a ring. Again, by destroying the phylactery (spellcheck in firefox recognises phylacter but neither spellcheck nor firefox :P) you release the lich's soul and they can then be kill conventionally. However this is often difficult as a lich is usually a powerful spellcaster.

Yeah I didn't think of it like that but I suppose its a pretty good analogy.

Almost done this last lab report, soon freedom. To study for 6 exams.

It certainly is. We have to take the rare occurrences when we can.

My random thought: does anyone else think that the Chaser Guys have lost the plot, and have been flogging the dead horse for too long?

re. the Chaser

1. out of touch with their audience - Aussies love a dig at anyone, including ourselves. But if you're going to kick the underdog (quintessentially un-Australian), then it'd better be bloody funny. It wasn't. Didn't find the Fritzel family sketch humourous either. Very grubby.

they are free to do what they like but so am I - not interested in having my entertainment time wasted

2. why do people still call them boys? they're older than I am

3. they remind me of a little kid with a dirty word trying to shock......i don't find them shocking, i find them boring and disappointing......they used to be clever, original and very, very funny.....seems like they've lost their Muse, hope they find the crazy chick soon

What have they done this time?

I don't have a TV, so I haven't seen any of the new season.

This discussion is depressing though, they used to be unbelievably funny, I don't want to think that they've lost it...

This is not because of outrage from the bad taste, but from the lack of creativity that I brought this up. What I want to know is this: they take an 18 month break from production, and this is the best they could come up with? This is mediocre crap, and it's obviously that they're scrapping the bottom of the barrel to serve that up on a weekly basis. If this is the best they can offer, then maybe it's time to call it quits.

I could have come with a better punchline for that joke than them - they could have had it as Make-A-Recession-Wish, and changed the angle from what they had it at to, things the average person can do on a shoe-string budget (a la Pissweak World from the late show) . . .

i.e: instead of Disneyland, take a trip Westland (Shopping Centre)?, why go to Warner Brothers' Movie World when you can go to Angus and Robertsons' Book World?, etc . . .

I actually think its bizarre that the make a wish is the one thats upsetting people. I thought the muscular dystrophy and the dig at heath ledger would upset people more because apparently hes a saint now.

The problem is that they're bored with it and didn't want to do this season. They've spent the last two weeks chasing the shock and basically its turned into a satire of the satirical process, whether or not they realise this is a another matter.

my beef with them is about lack of originality and humour

Chasers, I like your old stuff better than your new stuff
