Yes, that's me in a toga.

:drink: is a schooner of Guiness or Tooheys Old. The black beer is a top one, much better than the New or normal amber-coloured beer, says I. (I really can't make a genuinely helpful comment Abral; I know nothing about dating, rejection or anything regarding the whacky random world of relationships. Was never something I pursued with any girls. And vice versa . Perhaps go easy on the drinking? Actually, one of my crazy friends is actually in an embryonic relationship with an equally crazy girl, but they're taking it easy and slowly to let the relationship build and foster on its own accord.) |

Yeah, dont worry, I dont drink too much. Well okay I do. But Im a student. I think Im going to lay of drinking unless Im happy when i start, as being unhappy when you sober up is just horrible. And Id rather be sober than go through that. Plus my wallet keeps hurting and leaking uncontrollably... |

Ouch. Not good. I went out and got drunk, again last night. Oops. Still was fun, the joys of uni include going to random people's flats then finding out who they are while downing shots. I was a sober person and one of the few people who wasnt insistant of groping the poor hostess. I really hope she went to bed and slept last night, but seeing the way those guys were acting, (I was the only person who stopped her to pull her top up all night) Im quite worried. But they were too drunk to see reason or morals. I was woken at, now 8.50am to do some hoovering. I only went to bed at 3! |

What Uni are you at? That sort of behaviour is not cool. Nice to know that you were a gentleman about things, even if other guys are doing the reputations of men no favours. And as for money, I have been too free and loose with my wallet, and now I pay. I still have to fork over €70 (AUD120) for a textbook, and I can only hope that that is the only one I have to buy this semester... not likely. The only upside is I am going to a party this week that is: 1 - in a Baroque-era Palace 2 - full of people I know 3 - fully catered by somebody that isn't me, so free food and beer. Sounds like fun, enough to help me get over having called my former girlfriend in Scotland last night and getting the hard word on our relationship. But I knew it was coming. |

Woo Im from sunny Guildford, Surrey Uni. It can be a nice place, but I get disgusted by the way the "Men" and "women" treat eachother here sometimes. But Im sure its the same anywhere and there are nice poeple too. I was asked why Im not bitter and nasty last night. I am. Im angry with the world for being so upside down. Okay, im done being bitter... Jervis Bay: Have fun at the party, you sound like you need it. Though I think you even posted you were worried about your girlfriend a few months back. If distance split a long temr relationship apart, she obviously wasnt the right one for you. You might not know it, but you can do better, find someone who really appreciates you. Im sure she was lovely girl, but obviously not the best one for you. |

Abral, I used to live a bit north of there, in Putney, Wandsworth Borough, though I spent most of my weekends making mischief down in Sutton Town with my friends. I heard in the Guardian the other day that students over there were living on Baked Beans because their loan payments hadn't come through. I hope you aren't one of them. |

No loan yet.
 But I have a big overdraft, that til recently was a virgin one. Cant wait for my fees though as I will be bankrupted by a £500 bill right now. Its mostly Kentish students who havent had their money yet. But I had money at the start of this semester and books, rent etc later Im still eating well. I ate a whole pineapple yesterday because it was reduced. Im always cheap, but Im okay. |

Damn, I wish I could do something. Someone ought to start a charity for poor students. I used to joke about it in Australia, but the current situation has made it serious. I guess you will just have to avoid the M&S food and stick to the Sainsbury's Economy fare. Random thought for the day: My knee hurts. I put it out of joint last night while longboarding, and it is all swollen and painful and I am limping everywhere. I'll be fine though, I do this every 12 weeks or so, and after a week of ice and rest I am back to form. The last time I did this, a week later I skated 35km along the Rhine river. |

I stuffed my knee skiing when I was in my 20s A total knee reconstruction later saw me back with mobility but it was weak and I neer could run like I used to. Three arthroscopys later and I need a full knee replacement ! I'm in pain 24/7 but refuse to have the op till I'm at least another year older. I'll be off work 6 to 10 weeks they say and I only have 3 weeks sick leave atm Next year I'll have 6 weeks so with summer hols I should make it. If our house was finished I could hae done it this summer but dobt we'll be in by then *sigh* another year of pain and an added problem....a walking stick I think |

This is why I am not very big on the idea of an Arthroscopy. Once the swelling on my knee goes down, I will be able to run, walk and skate as far as I please. It's only on the occasion that I take a bad step that it becomes a problem. Medical science still has very little understanding of how the knee all works and functions, and at this stage I am not willing to place my trust in someone who may very well screw things up even further, even if their intentions are good. Plus, icing it for a bit and changing my shoes to a pair with better arch support seems to have reduced the pain somewhat. |

It came through today! And its tesco value stuff I live on! OR reduced stuff. Unfortunately. a) Im depressed B) I have an infection in my foot, which makes walking agonising, is causing swelling, and came from some overactive athletes foot. I now need antibiotics, so i cant drink (my doctor said that with that one I can, but not too much) FOR TWO WEEKS!! ARGH! I cant dance and im going out tommorow as its the alternative/rock night downstairs in the union... Im not sure if I want to laugh or cry. Still I guess at least after the antibiotics treatment ends it should go away. Sounds really horrid westie, I think places of work should be more sympathetic to injuries like yours, but its all about the money these days... |
