Random thought for the day - I had some surprisingly lucid moments during my mate's bucks extravaganza last week . Lucid moments interspersed with a lot of haze and cloud.

My random thought: is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that board's advertisements have been advertising "find your lesbian match"? |

I knew I wasn't the only one seeing them - 'Free Chat Rooms' featuring a banner of saucy young girls. |

Sounds like a rippin' trip. Last time I went to China was 88 or 89, several months after the Tianamen incident. A much more industrially transformed country since then. And Hong Kong is always great - just need to be able to hold your own in the hustle and bustle of the crowds on the street. |

true....it is crazy but gotta love those trains - i've heard their subway system was designed by an Aussie (or Aussies) - amazingly efficient and fast, trains every two->five minutes it was a big shock going to a mainland city and discovering zero trains and the worst traffic i've ever seen e.g. five lanes in a three lane freeway (in the middle of the city) with bicycles, farmers carts, donkeys, Maseratis & Porsches next to buses and electric scooters - organised chaos it was totally mental and i loved it ;-) i think you could live there for years and never get a handle on it - it would be very hard to be bored in China |

Another random thought - yesterday's bucks party seemed to be relatively mild. Probably because we didn't have ridiculous quantities of alcohol on offer. Probably because we held it at our mates' house and wanted to treat the interior and exterior furnishings and fittings with respect. Primarily because I wasn't drinking on account of a head cold. I'm over travelling up to Sydney - I'm keeping my fleet planted in Canberra until Christmas! |

Some of my mates at last week's bucks party are looking for a place in Sydney too, preferrably around the Eastern Suburbs - the place we grew up at and where they still live. They're looking away from our current localities further south towards Chifley and Hillsdale. Houses down hat way are still in the high $600k+, regardless of the mortgage pressures on families. |

it's all a bit depressing just before Christmas - i think i may take my hard-earned cash, buy the kids a Wii and go on a holiday actually, i am going to Sydney for Christmas - Sydney's not my fav place but quite a few of my favourite people are there - bring it on! NOTE: what is this ridiculous crap about how teachers shouldn't use red pen when marking school work??? oh the humanity! |

I agree with the whole "not using red pens": we've been doing this Tasmania for few years now. I like to use green pens ![]() I also like the idea of not using crosses as a means to identifying incorrect answers. How can a student learn if all they are getting back is ticks and crosses. |
