****. What causes brickloss, and what interesting brickloss storys have you? Any way of reversing it? Discuss.

Isn't it 1x1, 1x2 and 2x2 smooth tiles? I dunno.

Brickloss is usually caused by I/O buffering problems, as far as I can tell, though it might be some weird race condition. Certain things might be forgotten when written to the persistence file due to either of these, and then some.

" -marks in brick messages.

Some maps have usually crapload of ghost bricks saved to .persistence every time you save, at least my RTB isles do so. So I load it once, check console to see the id of first crap brick, and delete it + every brick in the save after that.
Pretty much every save can be fixed with notepad or similar.

Had the same prob.

1. Close RTB ONLY from menu. DO NOT CLOSE IT FROM THE BLACK SCREEN!

2. Dunno why, but when i've moved RTB from D to C the brickloss has stopped right away.

I'm not sure if it will really prevent from brickloss, but so i herd.
Remember to make backup.
If you have bac's pack, the persistence.cs file u need to replace is in rtb\server\scripts\PTTA folder.

Edit: If you use the character -> ' <- , the bricks saves. But if i put a message using "s, the brick with that message didn't save :o So if you want to make ", use 2 ' and u won't probably have brickloss(as i see)

Yes true dat. Every brick created after the brick with the " in brick message wont load. Ive had that problem, it's easy to fix if you know what brick you are talking about, just open the persistence file and search for the brick message and change it from there.
RTB player Sep '09 - Feb '10. We had a good run.
My Minecraft server has been running 24/7 since 2010!

The quotes thing is probably valid as well, though I've had problems where half of the entire fucking file was gone, and that clearly wasn't due to quotes.

>_> Huh. I replaced the quotes with 's and now there are no brickmessages anymore.

They're still in the data, but...

You can always upload the save and try to find someone to either steal it or fix it.

Eh, I'm replacing it all by hand. Isn't that hard, just time consuming.
