Adapt or Die; Ankou Rasphale
Topic Started: Oct 22 2010, 03:15 AM (73 Views)
Fachtna

Honour is a lie. From the moment he was old enough to comprehend the spoken word this one concept has been drilled into Ankou's brain. Never surrender, never admit you were wrong, never break. Never break.

Adapt or die. Change is exciting and thrilling and inevitable and sometimes, change came only from sheer force. Change cannot be denied, it cannot be swept beneath the carpet, just as you cannot ignore the leaves turning in fall, you cannot keep change from occurring. The Unseelie have learned to live in this world they did not create, they have adapted. Change....or die.

From the moment he came wailing into this world, Ankou has been groomed, tutored, drilled, and molded to become King. The Unseelie heir, the perfect vehicle for Kedrick's revenge upon the Half-blood Queen and her Bitch Elf, a hatred burning inside him that was ignited by a man he can barely tolerate. Kedrick Rasphale has treated his sons the way he treats everyone, they are only worthwhile as long as they serve a purpose, Ankou is just as expendable as his half brother Carrick, and Ankou knows this....they both know it.

Inside Ankou Rasphale beats the heart of a poet and the dreams of a painted but neither pursuit will ever be realized, Kings do not recite poems and they do not paint, real men fight battles and bed women. His life is not his own, there are expectations, there are demands to be met. The world has spun out of control and the Seelie are to blame, Aurora is to blame and that is the only point where Ankou and his father agree; the Queen must be taken care of, one way....or another. Everyday brings them all another day closer to potential war. Life is a gamble and Ankou cannot afford to lose.

To the mortal eye, Lord Rasphale is an average man in a sea of average men who ebb and flow through the gates of Amethyst. Pleasing sea colored eyes with a hint of a smile upon his lips greet those who would be inclined to speak with him. Tall by the standard of the day, yet not so towering as to intimidate. A crop of brown hair that often times looks shaggy and unkempt; in need of a trimming, crowns his head, to some it may appear he has a receding hairline but it's mostly just the way he wears it. Dressed in the same fashions as the other male peacocks of court, dapper greys and all too serious blues, he blends perfectly into the crowd. If it were not for the smooth, rich tone of his voice, the man would more than likely go unnoticed, but it is the voice that seems to keep the ladies entertained.

His fae seeming is far more complimentary. Eyes far older than he could possibly be in years penetrate the soul as this man trapped within a spirit he cannot claim stares you down. Eyes the gleaming color of some far away sea pierce and hold captive the unsuspecting soul who dare cross him.Hair the shade of fresh earth turned by the plow in spring adorns the head of the would-be King, complimenting the richly hued sun kissed bronze of his skin.

Years of training and regimented military discipline have honed a lean, well muscled figure out of what was once a stout, slightly overweight boy. Towering over most at an imposing height of 6'3" with an impressive body mass to match that height, Lord Sunderoak has been described as a feast for the eyes by several finer ladies of court.

Dressed in the latest fashions and never ashamed to make a bold choice, Lord Sunderoak cuts a striking figure when in court. Silks and brocades in the newest colors of wine, plum and royal blue, no expense has been spared so he may play out his role of courtly gentleman, adept politician, and master manipulator perfectly, never showing any vulnerability or slip in the armour.
