CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION 1. What is the name of your nation in the region 00000 A World Power? Protoprussia 2. Do you have a nation in the World Assembly (WA)? If so, please state the name of that nation. Yes. Roborussia. 3. How did you find out about our region? If you found out via a recruitment telegram, who sent it? Through Neanbear and the FRA. I do not recall ever having been recruited. 4. Have you ever been involved in any other NationStates region(s) in the past? If so, please elaborate on your prior experience. Yes. I have been WA Delegate, Quintumvir, Interior Minister, Senator, and Leader of the Social Democratic Party of the region of Sapientia. I have also been ambassador to several regions and alliances, including this one. In addition to political duties, I have also served in the intelligence service (but don't tell anyone), acted as forum architect, served as a public defender, and spearheaded Sapientia's military, which was at least for a time noteworthy for a relatively small region. I may be forgetting some of my duties and accomplishments, but I hope that it will suffice to say that I have performed a variety of roles. 5. What aspects of the region are you most interested in? (regional government, community, military, roleplay etc.) My primary interest is in performing my duties as a foreign dignitary. However, this is the only region I have ever held a personal affinity for other than my own, and as such I hope that you will humor me if I take an interest in the local gossip and politics. I find both very alluring. Also, I'll do whatever it takes to get a fancy red name tag like the rest of your citizens. 6. Define the meaning of life in ten words or less. To protect the world from devastation. I don't know if dual citizenship is allowed, but I am not renouncing my citizenship of Sapientia nor am I defecting, I simply feel that the "member" tag is degrading. I hope to come to know you all as I do the citizens of my own home region and I look forward to my time here! |

Thank you, Numero! Great to be here and even greater that red is my favorite color! To be honest, I was hoping I'd be rejected on the basis of being already a primary citizen of another region so that I could file suit. It's been so long since I got to research and argue a good NS case. I'll take this outcome too though! Especially since I have absolutely no idea where to even begin with your judicial system. Who presides over cases?

Well, thats a big hole in our constitution (we deliberately left a lot of blanks to give us flexibility to work out as we go, only adopted it last month). Historically it's been decided by consensus in the Citizens Assembly private chambers, occasionally Neas (or more recently me) has taken action with an authority and power I'm not convinced either of us have ever really had I've generally found the best way to mess a region around is to invest power in a judiciary, its always been a great thing for espionage purposes, having unrestrained despots is way safer |

...something about that logic seems off... or is it just the phrasing? I think I get why we don't have a formal judiciary. I do think it would be cool to have more structured debates on occasion, though. Arguing is fun! (Well, it is when the arguing is more complex than screaming "Yes!" "No!" "Yes!" "No!" "Yes!" "No!") |

I think it's just phrased oddly, but I understood what he's saying. By nature a Judiciary is an adversarial position to the rest of the government. Barring some sort of civil lawsuit, NS courts spend most of their time interpreting the legality of the laws themselves and just sow the seeds of chaos by tearing apart what would have otherwise been considered the law of the land. In a region with no Judiciary, a strong executive can quell any such talk about the quality lacking in a region's laws and enforce them however they like without weighing any complex merits. |
