Information:

Founded in March of 2007, A World Power was once one of the largest regions in Nationstates, and is currently re-building to its former glory! We as a region hold no specific political ideology, but nations organise themselves into Great Houses of likeminded individuals. The leaders of the three largest Houses form a Triumvirate which is responsible for leading the region. We believe in open elections for all citizens of our region and operate a one of the major defender forces in the game, which protects regions across Nationstates from invasion.

Welcome to A World Power!

Our forum acts as the hub of our community, and is where our Government, Citizens Assembly, and Regional Defence Force are coordinated. But it's not all serious business! The legendary Rucket Park is full of polls, spam games and nonsense chat, our Role Playing Pavilion is the place for all your roleplaying needs, and the A World Power Center is where we get to know each other.

Their Secretary of the Exterior has asked me to bring to the attention of the Triumvirate and Minister of Foreign Affairs that they wish to pursue closer relations with AWP and have requested an embassy on NS. The Western Isles is a large, active region of 500 members.

For clarity their policy about in game embassies is to accept all requests and they have some 180 embassies already. Their policy is -

"Some claim that embassies are a way of expressing good relations. The Western Isles, on the other hand, treats embassies as a first step on the path to good relations, rather than a declaration that those relations already exist"

Militarily "the Western Isles maintains a squad of nations called The Western Isles Militia, which may be used in foreign military operations. We are open to mutually beneficial alliances, and we are currently engaged in none." This could be a good opportunity for us to form a mutually beneficial relationship with our greater experience and involvement in military affairs and their (currently) larger numbers and activity in the World Assembly, for example.

I thought it would be good for us to discuss what would be the best areas to work with The Western Isles

I'd be interested to see whether there is any potential for making our RPs cross-compatible. They both take place outside of RL geography and their RP has some nice features, they have a currency exchange rates system for trades for example.

It would rely on the two being two separate distinct regions within the same planet, but it might create some unique opportunities. Nations in our RP could be quite isolated within the regions but might have allies and trade partners outside the region, for example.

Will the fact that the region does not have any offsite forum of their present a problem? Also, in a region of 500+, their military force is only 3 members strong.

No offsite forums at least means we don't have to post updates on theirs :P It sounds like a fairly low-commitment embassy. I had thought it preferable to avoid those, and focus only on regions we're really interested in, but on the other hand at least this would be a low-maintenance relationship.

I'd be a liar if I said I've never considered a "Rainbow Division" of sorts in my militaries before.
