Hello everyone (who's left), Today is a sad day for me. After more than four years--AWP is just a shadow of itself. This is my fault--mainly lack of recruiting. I would like to thank all of you who are here still for your service to the region. In early 08 we had nearly 300 nations and 100 delegate endorsements. Even after that, through 2009 we had one of the largest and certainly the most active armies in the game. There was a time when almost any night of the week we could deploy 15 nations in seconds to free a region that had been invaded. We were able to hold all the warzones at once. Our forum has had more than 1,000 people register with many more visitors from across the world. We really started to fade as I had less time for the game in 2010. But remained above 200 nations for much of that time. I'd like to think that our presence was felt in the game. We were the leaders and core of the FRA for many years where we helped keep nationstates free with our allies and friends. Second only to TITO we were commonly listed as one of the most "evil" of the defenders in the game. We have been mentioned in two World Assembly Security Council Resolutions. But most of all for me--I dread our story being forgotten. I can't even begin to relate all the different sagas of our region. And I hope i remember to write them down before I forget all of them. I can tell you on a very personal note that I have grown up alongside this game. And many of my RL memories can be intertwined with it. I am sad to see AWP pass the way so many regions have before. This being said, I am not leaving the game. And who knows what can happen in the future. The Future: I think it has become apparent that I do not have the same amount of consistent time to devote to the game. My "rl" is going amazingly well and I do get very busy for large amounts of time. I am not closing the region. As in the summer of 2007 when our region was in a similar state of decline I am going to my home away from home here in Nationstates--10,000 Islands. I spent 2-3 months there in the summer of 2007 and have maintained my presence there since then in one form or another. I will turn delegate controls off here for the foreseeable future and leave neasmyrna here to watch over the region. I will be moving my WA nation--Petalumadom over to 10,000 Islands. A special shout out to the remaining nations who I have fond memories of that are still here. Cow Herders--my RL neighbor and friend Kelh--our former delegate and one of the anchors of the region. Thank you so much. You have been with me since 2007 and your presence here through thick and thin means a lot to me. Ethopia Ish--I didn't get to know you that well. But I remember recruiting you. Thanks for sticking with us. Death or Life--Also a friend and member since 2007. Thank you for your long service in the RDF. To the rest. Numero Capitan, Neanbear, Rucket, Wazzaville, Cross Sworf, Amdusias, Greek, Tothe, Zex, Amex and all you dozens who I have forgotten and thousand+ who lived and died in this region--Thank you. I will continue with my presence here in the region and on the forum--just won't be doing much work. Those of you who wish for a more active nationstates home. Please please consider joining me in 10,000 Islands. It is an exciting place to be with a great group of people. You will find me there as the nation of Petalumadom. This may not be the end of AWP forever. I have come back before. But it probably will be. Feel free to operate here as you have been and I'll be happy to assist anyone who wants to get things done here. Thank you all for everything and I hope to see you in 10,000 Islands. |

I hope AWP never dies and I will always keep Numero Capitan here. Thanks for posting this Neas, I am active in the South Pacific, but I will stop by 10KI now I am no longer involved in the FRA. In terms of military, should we look at functioning as a regional military through TITO now or retain our FRA membership and do it through the Ranger? |

WTF is this? We have a spambot, apparently. Anyhow, we're trying to get this region back up and running. Anyone willing to help with recruiting new members, send me a PM. Edited by Lord Tothe, 25 Mar 2012, 20:01.

| "Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything — you can't conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him." ~ Robert A. Heinlein | |
