I feel that we should start using a jury for court cases. This would be the layout: For all cases that are between to people, and do not involve the state, i.e not like the gov case, the jury consists of two citizens and the judge. For cases like the Gov case then it should involve the three judges and four citizens. If there are only two judges then three citizens and then if only one judge two citizens. So to put it in a formulae (maths geek :P) it would be c = j + 1 (c being citizens, j being judges) to form the jury. Hope this isn't confusing. Then we need to think of a way to pick the citizens. Bassy also likes this idea. I was thinking that if we trial this in the gov case, permitting Biain being ok with it, if he isn't there should be a case to trial it soon so no worries there. |

This came up when I wrote the rights in court law, unfortunately we do not have the man power for this. Also with just 3 people and how forums work, a person who doesn't agree can stall a case for months |

I disapprove of this idea as well. You have the citizens outnumbering the judges, the individuals (supposedly) selected for impartiality and knowledge of the law. Also, I do think there is the issue of activity on the forums. Requiring 7 individuals to sit in, for example, the Govindia case, is impractical, with 2 more as attorneys, and Gov. You would involve the effective entire active regional forum population (or more) in each major case. I say let the judges do their job. If you have a problem with how they do it, propose an impeachment. Just be prepared to show GOOD reason for it. |
