Govindia has asked me to take an appeal on the decision made by the courts on Apr 30 2010, the original decision was made here http://z3.invisionfree.com/A_World_Power/i...448&st=30&#last and the ruling of the case was:
It is believed that Givindia didn't get true representation and would like the trial to be conducted with all three judges providing debate and questions and not just one, he feels that this will help a true decision to be made and that it will help his case, he also feels that the actual punishment was too harsh and that it was unfair that the prosecution didn't turn up most of the time for the session in court which hindered the trial meaning little debate was had and that the trial was spoiled by waiting on prosecutions and witnesses. He has asked me to take on the case and I have accepted. |

What? He asked me to do it. By true representation it means that because he could not see the debates it was unfair on him, it's not about you. Sorry if it sounds like that, and also you can't post here, it's against the "rules". |

You do realise by nominating AV to act as his defense he gave up his right to post in the trial himself. He had full posting rights here throughout the duration and when his defense was discussed so could have defended himself if he so chose. If Govindia feels that he chose a bad representative to make his case that is not sufficent grounds for an appeal, it is something he can argue with AV. The format of the trial was also discussed openly before it began and Govinida could have made his concerns known then. The punishment is actually less harsh than the senate agreed punishment if he lost the case which was being banned entirely. Therefore, this appeal is denied (and Liberty try not to take on a case before it is accepted as valid by the courts). |

I have only opened this to write this and this is just a question asked at Bassy, or Biain. What was the exact law/rule/thing he did to get banned? That is his reason for an appeal, there was: A) No clear reason to ban him other than being "annoying", which in retrospect is changeable person to person. B) Was not clear whether he was charged with a criminal or civil case. C) Feels the punishment was unfair. Those are the official grounds that he thinks he was punishable for and can you re-base your decision on those three. |

A) Not only was he annoying, he was persistent, and caused at least 3 very influential and important members of the region to leave. Furthermore, all the bickering that he caused looks very bad to new members of the region. A majority of the members of the region voted to ban him. Also, you say that there was no "law" that he violated, when a senate bill (proposed by you, if I am correct) voted to ban him. An act of the senate is equivalent to a law. B) Please read the subtitle of the case's thread. C) The punishment is nothing greater than what he was tried for; I even gave some leniency. However, I do believe that your voice shall be heard; I would allow you an appeal, provided you could get Biain to agree. |

1. Neanbear is still active-ish. Ranholn is Ranholn, and gets pissed VERY easily. And who is the 3rd again? |

Rucket, and Nean comes on very scarcely, but I agree with you on the Ranholn point. However, remember that this is not a debate over Gov or whether the ruling was right, merely over the potential of an appeal. And can someone please warn AV? |

Irrelevant posts have been deleted, lets keep the arguing out, I personally think an appeal is BS and won't change anything, and all people here are doing is trying to lobby to change the judges opinion. I will lock this until Biain has a chance to post. |

Apologies been in Israel on holiday for the past week so haven't had chance to respond. In regards to an appeal I have seen no new evidence to suggest that the judgement handed down was unfair therefore, I believe an appeal would still be a waste of time and is not appropriate. |
