What is the FRA? The FRA is the Founderless Regions Alliance, an alliance of several regions, which was founded in 2006. We're often called a 'defender alliance', but that misrepresents our role in NationStates. We are dedicated to the protection and stabilization of founderless regions across the NS world - this means that we do more than just defend regions - we provide them with additional help, so that they can sustain themselves. Who are the current member regions of the FRA? For a list of regions who are currently members of the FRA, please consult this forum: Member region outposts. Inside you will see the outposts of current member regions. Do you only have embassies with member regions? No - see the embassy row for the full list of embassies. We will open embassies with most regions which are prepared to keep their embassy active. The current policy on embassy exchanges is determined by the Foreign Affairs Minister. Are you aligned with any other organisations or regions? We do not currently have any alliances with other regions or organisations. However, we do work with other defender-orientated regions/organisations, and we will consider requests for treaties and alliances. How is the alliance run? Power within the FRA lies with the Regional Assembly, which contains two representatives from every member region. The Regional Assembly votes on laws, alliances, and elects Cabinet members. However, day-to-day running of the FRA is dealt with by the Cabinet. A full list of Cabinet members, and their deputies can be found here. For more on how the FRA is run, please read our Charter. How do I get involved? It depends what area you want to get involved with! Generally, your best bet is to contact the Cabinet member who runs the department you want to get involved with. However, some places to visit are: -Ranger applications forum -Ambassador applications thread -Redevelopment Clerk Sign-Up thread, and Refounding Squad Sign-Up (both part of the Development department) -Intel department application forum (PM to the Intel Minister only) -NNCS applications thread (the FRA Newsblog) -RRO Scouts applications thread (Regional recruitment) How does the FRA benefit its members? The FRA can benefit your own region in a number of ways. Not only will you be able to take an active role in a successful and established organisation, but it will also boost your reputation on the main political stage of the NS world. It will also help to bring activity to your regions armed forces as well as the social aspect. Other benefits include access to our extensive military and intelligence services, which will watch your back and keep your region safe from any threats. Of course, its not only the selfish needs which are to be considered here. You will gain the satisfaction that you have helped to not only protect the innocent regions, but to also rebuild those who need it via the redevelopment programme we have running here. Does membership of the FRA mean a region giving up its sovereignty? The first part of our Charter says, "The Founderless Regions Alliance is an organisation founded on the principles of sovereignty and freedom of all regions in Nationstates", so it would be a little silly if we interfered with the sovereignty of our member regions! We have a policy of not getting involved with the internal affairs of member regions unless invited to. Those member regions who do sign up for our redevelopment program may find their sovereignty slightly 'under pressure', but membership of the redevelopment program is entirely voluntary, so no-one is obliged to take part in it. I have a question that is not addressed above. What should I do? Either post a question in a new thread in the Arch Chancellor's Office, or send a Personal Message to one of the Cabinet members. Edited by Northern Chittowa, updated later by Sedge, and then entirely re-written by Sedge. |

So, that's what the FRA is. But what do we do in it? We are currently the largest region besides The Rejected Realms and the most active. We have two representatives to the FRA assembly (currently me and Numero) but we have several other nations from here who are members of the forum. The FRA forum hosts the Ranger Barracks where missions are posted and organized. We usually do not advise new RDF or RDFEF nations to sign up there until after a time where they can get a better idea of how defending works. If you have any questions feel free to ask me or ask them here. |
