Information:

Founded in March of 2007, A World Power was once one of the largest regions in Nationstates, and is currently re-building to its former glory! We as a region hold no specific political ideology, but nations organise themselves into Great Houses of likeminded individuals. The leaders of the three largest Houses form a Triumvirate which is responsible for leading the region. We believe in open elections for all citizens of our region and operate a one of the major defender forces in the game, which protects regions across Nationstates from invasion.

Welcome to A World Power!

Our forum acts as the hub of our community, and is where our Government, Citizens Assembly, and Regional Defence Force are coordinated. But it's not all serious business! Senator Elections

The region is currently preparing for Senate elections, with the political parties debating who to back and starting to work on campaign material. The current outlook is that Ranholn, the incumbent, will remain the Independent Peoples Party's candidate in the South as he is Chairman. Running against him is likely to be Minister for Foreign Affairs, Greekamerican, as DCAPCOMR's candidate.

In the Northern District, Numero Capitan is not running for a second term due to his appointment as Minister for Defence, in his place the IPP will have given their backing to Turlmanistan, an active member in the RDF. Ballypete will be running against him despite his failure in the previous by-election. This time however he will be endorsed by Biain the First, our delegate's party, DCAPCOMR.

The elections will be held this month, but the dates haven't been decided upon by Neasmyrna and the Senate yet. It could mark a major shift in the political climate with both IPP seats up for grabs and the recent change in the Delegacy from IPP to DCAPCOMR might be a sign about what might happen. Candidates can now announce their intention to run on the general board and it will be if there are any independents standing.

Department of Immigration Re-opens

After about a month without any activity, efforts in Immigration are starting up again. Amazingly, AWP's population has remained at around 230 throughout this period. We've seen some new members become active on the forums, perhaps more notably our second regional sibling rivalry with Lord Tothe's sister, Zextheria, joining! We've also had a welcome visit from our allies in Lichentia, TripleKO and Hammer, who fortunatly arrived too late to nominate Hammer in the 2007 awards!

"Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything — you can't conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him." ~ Robert A. Heinlein
