![]() Staff- Torchevon Kolinar Numero Capitan ![]() -"War ought to be the only study of a prince."-Machiavelli ![]() Thursday will see increased snowfall and many businesses and schools are already declaring they will be shutting for the day. Many homeless centres are being hastily set up in the North to try and prevent the blizzard from wreaking havoc in city centres by providing a warm place to stay the night. Highs of 34 and lows of 24(potentially) Friday is expected to have a consistent amount of snow fall, though nothing like the previous two days, levels of snow should stay constant though. Highs of 37 and lows of 32 Saturday is expected to see much less snow and it would be the ideal time to clear snow away from driveways and sidewalks. Highs of 38 and lows of 35 Sunday should be very cloudy and areas in the South West could still experience some fairly heavy snow fall. Highs of 39 and Lows of 33 Monday is expected to be a bit warmer in the south and there should be only light snowfall throughout the region. Highs of 42 and lows of 34 Tuesday- We can look forward to a white christmas in AWP, with light snowfall throughout the day, highs of 38 and lows of 36 Wednesday will hopefully see some sun peep through the clouds, although dont be fooled, it will be a cold day. Highs of 35 and lows of 32 ![]() Senate Matters The senate voted unanimously to reopen nominations for the Delegate elections and the incumbent Kelh is standing as the IPP candidate with Orea Oceana(Nitty) challenging and perhaps others. Senator Numero Capitan is attempting to revive the Constitution and will put it to the Senate if there is no further amendments that citizens wish to make. The Senate is expected to vote on this after the winter break. December has seen a number of nations CTE with our population falling from 235 to 192, but thanks to prolific efforts by recruiters we now have 214 nations once more! Foreign Matters December has seen a complete revamp of the Department of Foreign Affairs, spearheaded by our Minister, Greekamerican. Greek has appointed new ambassadors to Europe, Lazarus and The Genesis Federation where we have new embassies! Defense Matters This week has been a good week for the RDF who have successfully liberated 3 regions in as many days. We hope that Austria, Yorkshire and Beyond will stay invader free in the future. Congratulations to the wonderful effort put in by RDF members and our allies the FRA Rangers! ![]() Today was an eventful day in the U.N. We had the resolution Repeal "End Slavery" pass with 7,324 votes to 2,027. In addition 5 proposals have or are very likely to be removed from the floor. These were: "Abolition of Slavery," "All Open," "Aiding the disabled," "Freedom of Diet," and "Public Broadcasting Act." As one who is always searching out trends and patterns, I have come to notice that many of the U.N. proposals deal with gun control. This suggests that it is a hot topic, and one with certainly a lot of information available upon. With so many proposals involving guns and their dispersion in societies at vote, perhaps it would be a good time for one to procure some research on the topic and develop solidified views on the topic. There are always things one can do to become involved especially here on the forums. If the U.N. interests you, please visit the AWP U.N. Corps. An initiative to create a voting bloc to pass legislation through the U.N. General Assembly. Everyone is encouraged to get involved!! ![]() This weeks spotlight is on Hatesmanville. NS Profile: Nation Name: The Pooh of Hatesmanville Quote: "Super Duper Ally Ooper Tigger Wigger Bounce" U.N. Category: Compulsory Consumerist State Civil Rights: Some Economy: Powerhouse Political Freedoms: Few Overview: The Pooh of Hatesmanville is a huge, safe nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 710 million are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night. It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Religion & Spirituality. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 63%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Gambling and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. Strategic bombers are being converted into preschools, history classes are mandatory for students, the country is preparing for war, and programmes of questionable content are shown at peak-hours. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Hatesmanville's national animal is the pooh bear, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the tigger tiger. Hatesmanville is ranked 154th in the region and 52,601st in the world for Largest Agricultural Sector. 69 minutes ago: The Community of Wuvables arrived from The West Pacific. 3 hours ago: The Pooh of Hatesmanville arrived from The Pacific. 3 hours ago: The Pooh of Hatesmanville departed this region for The Pacific 6 hours ago: The Federation of Raconda arrived from The Pacific. 6 hours ago: The Colony of Lleknek arrived from The Pacific. 7 hours ago: The Kingdom of Dracula Human Slayer arrived from Gatesville. 9 hours ago: The Armed Republic of Numero Capitan arrived from The North Pacific. 10 hours ago: The Dictatorship of Aroostook County arrived from The East Pacific. 10 hours ago: The City-State of Petalumadom arrived from The West Pacific. 11 hours ago: The Kingdom of Mythical Things arrived from The West Pacific. ![]() What Your Resume Really Means I Take Pride In My Work: I blame others for my mistakes. Sorry about that. My usual Dillbert comics kept locking up my internet (this isn't the first time I had to make this issue) so I chose a quick back-up, wont happen again. |
