Did someone say patch?

The 3rd ever patch for the Wii version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has gone live! Here are the changes.

Patch #3
 
Improved the ability of AI-controlled killstreaks to track and shoot targets
Fixed several map escapes and exploits – notably in Outpost and Seatown
Implemented various weapon balance changes that affect the shotgun/grenade launcher attachments for assault rifles, the FMG9, akimbo weapons, shotguns, the Type 95, the ACR, Semtex, and silenced sniper rifles.
Fixed an issue that was causing the Pavelow killstreak to not be damaged or destroyed with lock-on missiles
Fixed an exploit that allowed players to purchase items with Prestige tokens they had not earned
Fixed a bug that allowed players to call multiple MOAB strikes with a short period of time
Fixed a bug that allowed players to assign weapon proficiencies to weapons that should not be able to have them.
Fixed an issue where players reported that certain air support units could not be shot down in the Free-For-All game mode.
Fixed excessive cooldown time on sentry turrets
Fixed objects that can be placed not appearing red when they are in an invalid placement position immediately as they are pulled out
Fixed an issue that caused the laptop to get stuck on screen when a player’s Assault Drone was destroyed immediately after placement
Improved performance when multiple headsets are in use
Fixed several low frequency crashes
Implemented several miscellaneous performance optimizations


Many feared this wouldn't come but it's here! Enjoy the assualt strike package!

Yeah it is.

Certainly makes me more excited about the game.

I read some topics or the cod boards and it looks like most hackers are cleared out too. But new codes will come..

Yeah well it will certainly encourage me to try it again after the patch! Hopefully this will further improve performance!

Well apparently from the Wii guys, and from the look of all these patches, it's about time!

Hope this gets the Wii members a little happier with their MW3 game.

I may be tempted to try & salvage my MW3 profile then.
I still think it's my connection that's the problem though.
If so MW3 will gather even more dust before they finally roll out the NBN.

Is it just me or is it that the Akimbo FMG9 is still overpowered? even after this patch.

it seems that the patch said that they would lower its recoil dramatically. but.....

There was actually a hotfix update to an profile overwrite glitch implemented on the 24th of February too.

I have not played MW3 since 2 days after it's release on Wii.
I guess I should chuck it on to get the updates at some point.
But I still don't plan on being very active on this game.
I just don't like it, not after playing BOps.
I still like W@W & MW:R & BOps much better than MW3. :okay:
"Bring On BOps2" I think I would prefer something like that anyway. ;)

Ninty hurry up & release the WiiU I need something really new to play!!!

The lag over in Melbourne isn't that bad really unless we are versing Americans or something. Also i still think its overpowered takes like less than second to kill with the FMG9 and you can't kill them unless you are lucky or from far away its annoying

Allow me to illustrate:

Direct Distance Melbourne to Sydney = 713 km.
Direct Distance Melbourne to Perth = 2,727 km.
Direct Distance Perth to Sydney = 3,297 km.
Direct Distance Melbourne to Los Angeles = 12,782 km.

All these distances are direct distances. In reality, the distances would be more than what is listed.

So even when someone in Melbourne is playing against against a host in Sydney, the Perth guys have 4.624x the ping as they do. Perth lag against aussie players is roughly 25% of the lag that a Melbourne player will experience against someone in LA.

This explains why the moment I get host, all the players on the enemy team leave the game. It happens all the time. It happens because they cannot stand the lag that I have to deal with every game where I am not host.

I don't know why but COD games on Wii play very differently in lag to their Xbox 360 and Ps3 counterparts! However it's not always as simple as saying 4 bars is better than 3 and so on!

On Black Ops Wii, I could host at my Dad's house. 4 bars and everything was basically lag free. At my old place, I couldn't host and lag made it much harder to play but I still got 4 bars displaying on screen!

On MW3, I had the game early. On 2 lag I was getting a K/D ratio of above 2.0 on most games. Then the Aussies jumped on, my bars went up to 4 but I had more trouble hitting enemies with supposedly better lag!

The game is just strange and I think the experience we all have with COD games is different based on where we live. However for whatever reason, these issues are amplified on MW3 and as such is not as popular on Wii as Black Ops was/is!
