Melbourne Victory record first win under new coach!

Melbourne Victory have come-back from an early goal to win their first game under new coach Jim Magilton in one of their best performances against the table-topping Central Coast Mariners.

It started horribly for the Victory, when in the 9th minute Tom Rogic split the home-sides defence and scored a brilliant first goal in his career after only three games, and put massive pressure on the Victory.

The Victory didn't seem to be fazed however, and they hit back seven minutes after Rogic's goal when Rojas cut the ball back to a surprisingly in-form Carlos Hernandez who was free, and a brilliant shot from outside the box hitting the upright on the way in put the Victory back on level terms and gave them a fighting chance.

Both teams had their chances in the first half, and Carlos Hernandez was very unlucky not to score a second goal when he was 1-on-1 with Pasfield, who made a great save with his feet to deny him.

The second half started with a bang for the home side, when in the 50th minute an overshot corner by Carlos Hernandez for Harry Kewell was seemingly well defended and looked like it was going to be clear, but Marco Rojas was able to head the ball upwards to Harry Kewell, who finished with an amazing left-foot volley putting the Victory up 2-1.

Trent Sainsbury was then given a straight Red Card for a very dangerous studs-up challenge on Victory's star defender Fabio, and that gave the home side a massive advantage.

Both sides really pushed for a goal, the Victory to seal the game and the Mariners to get a point out of it, but the Victory were able to hold on to their lead in what was a very entertaining game!

While I can't watch the A-League games at the moment because I've cancelled my Cable, I'm really missing it now!

I hope this is the start of something better for the Victory. I think they are now in 6th place but they play Brisbane next week which will be tough. They really need to win as many games as possible to make the finals.

Luminal if you really want to watch the games, I would strongly suggest you get a membership for the next season!

It is a little expensive, but in the long run it is cheaper than buying tickets every week or even cheaper than cable!!! If you get General Admission you can sit in the orange areas in this photo:

I sit at the back on the Southern Terrace, literally right behind the main Southern Terrace Cheer Squad :D The sides are very boring because not much cheering goes on, but the Northern Terrace can be quite dangerous because the Wogs get into a lot of fights lol! Southern Terrace FTW ♥

If you want, I am sure we are getting memberships next year and I can find out prices when they release them! They don't charge for seating like last year thank god ;)

Who knows maybe we will see each other :D hahaha

Anyway I don't think the Victory will make the finals this year, but with this level of improvement could mean an almost certain finals spot next season, which will be great!

I know Scope I really want to go see them play but like I said none of my friends are really into it! At least I have cousins and work mates interested in the Footy but Soccer is a harder sell.

Hopefully one day in the future, A-League will come to Free to Air...then it will get more popular for sure!

I have the same problem, my family and one or two of my friends would actually come with me to watch a game, which is why I don't have a membership anywhere.

Anyway, it's not surprising to see Melbourne win with more shots on goal and possession.

As you would like to know Dugandzic is currently overseas with the Olyroos trying his HEART out to help the Olyroos qualify for the London 2012 Games.

And as i try not start something if think you have some points about the A-League
