The Department of Dangerous Fauna Management now runs courses on how to celebrate Australia day - The dad2 way! Come in and sit down and learn how! Disclaimer - Guides like these may or not be true. When going out into the bush, it is advised that an american (preferably a few) accompany you. Safety in numbers is essential, and you know who's going to be the first to go..... 1. Drop Bear Hunting AKA Bush Cricket - The quintessential Australia Day Activity. Nothing like clearing the local bush of those unwanted bugger. Requires cricket bats, cricket balls, and of course 3 wickets. May result in damaged pride and constant bragging. 2. Let's find Skippy - Another essential way dad2 celebrates Australia day. In Let's find Skippy, the player must wander blindfold into the nearest kangaroo enclosure, and try to ride one. Requires drunken person, who complies with everything you say. Warning - Kangaroo's know how to box. Nut shots won't work on them, as they can retract them also (didn't know that one now, did you? ).3. Barbie-Q! - This is where you can sit back and relax and eat what you have caught today. Be warned, this meat may taste nice, but now the drop bears are out to get you so make sure you prune that nice new palm tree your neighbors put in next door (They'll soon make it over to your place! ). Happy Australia Day everybody! cheers Patriotic dad2 |

I totally need to get Luminal to make a rank for me like "writer" or something. Something funky sounding. "Drop Bear Hunter, Holy Father of Spin, Writer extrodinaire, The New Bear Grylls" etc etc. Hope you all had a nice Australia day Green and Opasx! Glad you enjoyed it! I'm always keen to do more writing and improve! cheers dad2 Edited by [ANWA]dad2, Jan 27 2012, 12:06 AM.

Cheers again Dad2! Unfortunately, I didn't read this before Australia Day and ended up getting attacked by the bloody Drop Bears (I think!) Anyway, I had to get stitches in my leg and I'm still looking for the drop bear to I can get my revenge! |

I'm English, but I'm a citizen of Australia (That's right. You can't kick me out :P). What exactly are we meant to do for Australia Day? All I saw was people getting drunk...

I'm not even an Australian citizen ![]() But most people just party while listening to the hottest 100, and others like to watch some fireworks or spend time with their family. There isn't really anything we are "supposed to do" for it, but the date commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet at Sydney Cove in 1788. (Correct me if I'm wrong) |

I'm from Scotland. I was born there and moved here with my immediate family when I was three, but I go back roughly every year to see my other family and friends (I come from a pretty small place, so everyone is very close.) What part of England are you from?

I see what you did there. And great write up dad2. I sadly missed this but my Australia day consisted of: Goin to the beach, then beach cricket and lamb on the BBQ on the balcony. |
