HELLO GUYS! Infinity Ward have finally released a trailer for the next DLC that is apparently the first of 9 which will come out every month! The first contains two DLC maps: Piazza (set in ITALIA :D) and Liberation (set in New York) See what you think ![]() |

Watch this be the same price as normal map packs from previous COD games for those who haven't subscribed. Glad I returned MW3 since they are pretty much forcing people to subscribe if they want the most out of it. |

I was and still am upset that the DLC is working this way. Some of us don't want to pay money just for some extra content every now and then. I am willing to pay for DLC but coming out like this seem just stupid.... |

Why do people always complain about Cods Map Packs having to be purchased? Most games make you pay for their DLC. Anyway, looks like they have put a little more effort into map packs now, looks good and looks like they have really cared for the subscribers. |

Sorry if this all sounds fanboyish, but it is perfectly logical. MORE EFFORT? They are releasing two maps, not four, for what will probably be the same price. If not, it will most likely be $12.99. For that price, in BF3, you got four, higher quality maps, 3 new vehicles and 10 new weapons. All I am seeing here is your typical CQC map and a map that required no effort at all, just ripped straight from real life. The reason everyone complains about CoD DLC, is because they charge you more than double what you should have to pay for the maps. It isn't like they are ever anything special, besides the CoD4/CoD5 maps/remakes. BFBC2, seven map packs, FREE. What they charged you for were the expansions. Vietnam was 5 new maps, 5-6 new vehicles and 15 or so new weapons, and was the price of one CoD map pack. Cared for the subscribers? More like tried to force you to become a subscriber. Also, other games do charge you for DLC, but not as blatantly, or they reward you for pre ordering, like Dead Island, or BF3. Yes, you could pre order CoD + Elite, and save some money, but its not like you were rewarded with FREE DLC, you just got a discount. I do think that there will be one Elite Premium only DLC, and the others will be combined two at a time into a 4 map pack for non subscribers. If they do charge the normal price for these individually, then it will be over $180 for these map packs for a non subscribers. What would you rather, two new games, or 9 map packs for a game that was a map pack. //Rant over. |

I think it is a poor effort to have "DLC game modes" That really shits me off we have to pay to be able to play game modes with more players in them. 2 maps a month with some game modes. for 80 bucks. how is that worth it cause Elite is not worth it |

I have Elite, and would say that it is very worth it. It has awesome features. Anyway DLC game modes, aren't they just game modes using the DLC maps? Who says the maps in BF3 are of higher quality? That's an opinion. They are releasing two maps, but you need to remember that DLC will come every month. You say no effort at all, but you try and make something look almost exactly like what it is based on. Not easy. Anyway, back on topic. |

I don't claim to be able to do that, but as for effort, I very much believe that there is little effort involved. Anything out of bounds (give or take 20m-50m) in a CoD map is 2D. Anything out of bounds in BF3 is 3D for around a kilometre, by which point it becomes 2D. The amount of effort involved in making the HUGE maps of BF3, with texturing all of it, not to mention coding the destruction, seems to me to be far more effort than replicating something in real life, on a tiny scale which in terms of 3D work is much easier than developing from scratch. Trust me on that one. Thats the kinda stuff I play with in my free time. My final opinion on this is Call of Dollars: Money Wasted 3, but each to their own. Back on topic, I wouldn't buy those maps. I would wait for the inevitable CoD4/MW2 map packs. These maps don't look fun to me, but I know how much fun the old Modern Warfare maps can be. One of these looks spray and pray, the other looks like camp my ass off in my wookie suit. ![]() |

Not saying there is more or less effort than that of the BF3 maps, but a lot of effort would be needed. Anyway not a lot has really been revealed about the maps, but I can already tell that the New York one will be a sniper map, so bring it on and it's about time MW3 had more sniper maps. |

If you paid for Elite then it's not bad value! The whole DLC thing does annoy me but Activision aren't going to stop when consumers keep eating it up! It will be interesting to see how long Call of Duty can keep recycling their content but many of us still look forward to anything Call of Duty and I'm bored so DLC is most welcome! |

It'll go the way of Guitar Hero I reckon. Milked so long and hard it becomes a dry old shell that no one ever touches again. But that will be a while yet. If they develop a new engine/take on the franchise, than it might be worthwhile again. Might. |

Guitar Hero's fate is sad, but it didn't stop it from being a mega seller in 2011. Thanks to the chart Lum posted haha! Anyway, a good thing to have would be DLC for a cod that includes an online Demo type version of Cod4. Few maps, less perks and weapons. |

As long as this generation continues Call of Duty will be a force to be reckoned with but new hardware, engines etc can change the status quo! It's amazing how many big games of the PS2 generation no longer have the sales so things often do change! However Mario is still going strong after 25 years so Call of Duty might just be here to stay for a long time yet to come! However expect Battlefield to only get stronger! |

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO ADD: The maps are coming out two at a time ONLY for Elite! They will come out in normal packs of five for non-subscribers (well that's what I heard) Remember Elite get the maps first and they get two a month ![]() I do like the look of the Italian map I don't know if any of the maps will be good... but if they do remake a map from CoD4 or MW2 history suggests it could work (CoD4 probably not but MW2 maps would work)

THANK YOU SCOPE. I was reading through the responses and not many seemed to realise that it is not even possible to buy this DLC separately. It is for Elite. Which is a good deal if you want ALL the map packs anyway. You get it slightly cheaper, every month. (1 month delay for PS3). It will be the same as it was for non-Elite. DLC every 3-4 months. The Italian one looks like my type of map. Maybe I can get a gold shotgun on that map alone haha. We shall see. I like the colours of it though. Bright! |
