Socceroos and Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer is facing up to six weeks on the sideline after he suffered a neck injury. After consulting a specialist, Schwarzer, 39, has been told to rest until late January after he was injured during the defeat against Swansea, however he should be fit to play the Socceroos' vital World Cup qualifier on February 29.
Pretty unlucky and possibly an eye opener for Schwarzer. He is lucky that he gets to play the world cup qualifier for the Socceroos and even luckier that he's only off for six weeks! The video of the injury really does look bad and it could have been a lot worse. Hope he gets better soon! P.S Mark Schwarzer once told me to hurry the f*ck up! ;D Read more and see the video of the injury HERE |

Long story... Not really. Back in the day when I was much, much younger I was the ball boy at one of the games he was at. I didn't know whether it was a corner or goal kick, so I hesitated to throw the ball. It was a goal kick and that's when he told me to hurry the f*ck up

Well this was many years ago, I can't remember how old I was but I was probably only about eleven or something Besides, I was just happy that I could brag to my mates about how Schwarzer spoke to me XD

As long as he will be there for the World Cup. But honestly I don't know if we will have a good run this time. Not that the Soceroos ever were potential contendors haha. |

Well Australia's performance in the last two world cups surprised the hell out of me, they played pretty well. Although I'm not a serious fan of them I wish them luck and would like to see them do well. |

I disagree with you Brett!! The performance of the Aussies surprised me in the 2006 World Cup in Germany, but the performance wasn't too good during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa lol (and I swear if you lecture me about Italy's performance in the 2010 World Cup I will be happy to compare how many stars the teams have :3) |

I'm not gonna lecture you on anything haha ![]() I think that it only seemed as if Australia didn't do well in the 2010 world cup because of how well they did in the 2006 one. Even qualifying was doing great for Australia a couple of World Cups ago. |

Wow that was a really bad fall, it could have turned out worse than just 6 weeks on the sidelines. Hope he recovers fully though because spinal cord damage is pretty serious nonetheless! Bolton just got hammered without out Schwarzer so it's not just the Socceroos that need him to return! |

I can imagine. He is one of the only players in the Socceroos that I am actually a fan of. Most keepers don't do too much to a team, but he is really a great and important asset to the Socceroos. |
