HELLO ALL REVIEWERS AND READERS OF REVIEWS! I have come up with a couple of main rules for the review section and for writing reviews that are going to be in place IMMEDIATELY! FOR REVIEWERS: 1. No Game can be reviewed twice (this rule may change if a 'Second Opinions' Sub-Forum is created 2. If you wish to review a game, please PM me to let me know which game you are going to be reviewing (removes the chance of someone reviewing a game twice as I will have a full list of what games have been reviewed) 3. When your review is complete, PM me again and tell me which Genre it is under, so I can approve it. 4. Reviews MUST have some sort of overall score (out of 10) as it is a very important aspect of reviewing a game. Scoring the gameplay, graphics, sound etc. is not important. 5. Reviews must NOT be copied and pasted from another site like IGN. It must be your own review. 6. There is no current limit to how long, but it shouldn't be 2 or 3 lines. 7. Any review that is not up to standard (I will be lenient) will not be approved (I will PM you nicely) and you will be asked to add more to it when you can. 8. There will be no vulgar language, or any comments that may offend someone in these reviews. Our section is viewed by a lot of guests, so this means we are on show! (if you must, put some *, for example f***) FOR COMMENTING ON REVIEWS: 1. No putting down a person if you don't think the review is up-to-scratch, or you don't agree. Any trouble will result in a warning. Receive two warnings and you may be banned from posting in this section. 2. There will be no vulgar language, or any comments that may offend someone in these reviews. Our section is viewed by a lot of guests, so this means we are on show! (if you must, put a *, for example f***) 3. Do not post over a new review! All reviews will have a fair time on display (at least 3-4 days, maybe more, maybe less depending on how many reviews come in) and older reviews will not be on the main forum page again! 4. Do NOT start a conversation with a person and start to go off-topic. Any of this will result in a post-reduction for spamming. PLEASE tell me what you think of these rules, and please leave some suggestions on some more ![]() Also I am figuring out who my review partner will be. Suicide did a good job keeping this section tidy while I was on my break, but he has other things to do (YouTube etc.) so he will no longer be a Moderator for this. My Review Partner will have to be more on the Editorial side of things; writing reviews and commenting on reviews, as well as helping manage all of the reviews that do come in, and when I am away to take over and keep this forum running! Also once they have been picked, you will need to help me in making a proper Template for Reviews, mainly for people who want to give it a go and don't know where to start I have one person in mind, but if you are interested in being my partner (Suicide if you want you can as well), please PM me, and we shall see how it goes ![]() Thanks guys! I have said it before, and I'll say it again, Green should be the Co-Manager or whatever name you want to give him. I'd be happy to do a management side of things when needed though, e.g. approvals etc. I like the rules. |

Yeah i would like to say i would be interested in taking up this role. As for the template, well i like to see a reviewer have their own touch to it. Like i would be against someone trying to make my review into something i don't feel comfortable with

I think they are a good set of rules. The 2nd opinions sub-forum idea is still not confirmed though staff have had discussions about it! It really needs to be determined if games will ever get reviewed more than once but if someone feels strongly about a review and has a different opinion then they should they are encouraged to make an alternative review. |

Yeah thanks Lumi I did take around an hour or two to come up with these bahahaOh and Green the template isn't going to be for every single reviewer to use. It is only going to be made so new reviewers that aren't sure where or how to start can use it and guide them to finishing the review! |

Oh right sweet thanks for clearing that up. Then i am all for the template being made. People should have the option to find out what is acceptable lets say and what is not. |

Very nice Scope, but I'd watch the 3-4 days rule. It could stop a review being made by someone who only had the mood to do it at that particular time, meaning that you lose a review. I'd bring it down to 1-2 days, but it's obviously up to you! |

Green I must say a template is a better idea than you give credit for! Maybe you can assist in coming up with a template that is optional but hopefully everyone follows. If we as a website want to strive more more professionalism, then it is important that all our reviewers are on the same page! Really look at ign. They have a point scale that every reviewer follows but they are wide discrepancies in scores because each reviewer still has the freedom to say what they want (even though ign have been accused of the opposite). |

Ahh I see Scope, very well done ![]() And I still think that a template is the best idea. Just to add onto what Lum said - It also makes the reviews SO much easier to compare if they are on the same point system, and this would be necessary if we were to eventually have a Second Opinions sub forum. |

I'd like to work on a template with Scope if he would want to do that. I am starting to see that we need to look a bit more professional and make the review system a little more standard i think |

Yeah Green I'll be on at around 1:30 today if you wanna start making this template! Obviously we will have to make it as basic as we possibly can, and we need to make sure we don't have any 'differences of opinion' haha ![]() I will PM you when I get home, and I will see if you are on chat

In terms of professionalism, you can't really make a template to make something look professional. The thing about all the good review site (IGN, CVG etc.) is that they 1. Have a GREAT writing style, I mean look at edge for example, their writing style is something great essayists would be proud of, and 2. addressing the main issues, I mean, what use is talking about story on a $1 ios game? Don't get me wrong, a template would be great, but it's not going to help on comparing different reviews because 1. People have different ideas for what a good score should be (I mean, look at this article about giving 10's by ign: http://au.wireless.ign.com/articles/121/1213948p1.html). My point is, when you're making the template, make sure you don't constrict individualism, because even when it is easier to compare scores, it does make the reviews less individual and therefore less expressive and of lower quality. |
