![]() The Brisbane Roar have beaten the Central Coast Mariners in their 1st Round encounter today. The two teams last played each other in last seasons Grand Final and again the Roar came out Victorious. That was the 29th game in a row that Brisbane Roar have won. Final Scores: Brisbane - 1 (Nicholls "72") Central Coast - 0 In other A-League news the much hyped clash between Melbourne Victory and Sydney F.C has ended in a nil all draw. The match saw the A-League debuts of Socceroos stars, Harry Kewell for Victory and Brett Emerton for S.F.C. Both Kewell and Emerton had chances to score for their new sides but both couldn't. Emerton missed a crucial penalty that could have seen Sydney travel away from Etihad Stadium with a win. In the end it was an exciting game played in front of 40,000 supporters.
