US 3DS sales jump 260% following price cut!!! Nintendo said in a statement that over 235,000 3DS systems were sold last month. About 185,000 units were shifted in the 19 days following the price cut on August 12, representing a 260 percent increase from the same 19-day period in July. \ The sales increase in North America follows a similar trend in Japan, where Nikkei pegged 3DS sales at 207,000 units in just four days following the price cut. Well I guess it's safe to say that the price cut was a very smart decision, they may have made more if they sold this amount without the price cut (which would have been unlikely) but it's still a damn good improvement! |

So Brett have you started using bigger text to make you posts look like they have more detail??? ![]() I'm kidding bahahaha Anyways, I am definitely not surprised with this Sales Jump! Nintendo's original price of the Nintendo 3DS was, in my opinion, not worth it considering the pretty horrible line up of games it had. With the release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and the eventual released of Mario Kart 3DS and Super Mario 3DS, I am 100% sure people will start to buy it!!! That is why the Nintendo DS sold so well

Agreed, they should have released a classic game or two at the same time, at first there was hardly any good games. And nah haha i just did it so that it was easier to read on Breath, seeing as everyone complains

Nintendo wanted a larger 3rd party presence on 3DS and were happy to launch with the other developers games but it backfired for sure. Also one of the biggest problems is that many people think the 3DS is a DS with 3D visuals when in fact the hardware is much more powerful. These sales are encouraging but what the 3DS really needs is a flagship game like Super Mario 3D Land to hit! I expect X-Mas sales to be strong but in the meantime games like Star Fox 64 will have to do! |

I'm still trying to convince my friends that the 3DS has better graphics than the PSP! But now we need just one thing for the 3DS to be an pwnage system... Saints Row 3D! |

Unfortunately Saints Row:Drive by will not be making its way to the 3DS. It has been scrapped.
So like the quote above mentions, it seems to be more of the game itself than the 3DS. But still Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy was also canned. I get the feeling Nintendo did not release the game with the full launch of good first party titles, leading to less buyers, and more 3rd party devs less sure of its investment in the 3DS. Hopefully the price cut will jump things up though as it has made more sales from it. I am also unhappy with the Wii-U Launch, as it had hardly any good first party games promised to come out on its release. A clear sign that Nintendo may be too worried about being the first to start off the new generation of consoles rather than really being ready for it. |

Saints Row 3DS was scrapped? SH*T! But anyway I agree about the whole Wii U thing, I mean who really cares about Darksiders 2? And I bet most of the games set for release on the Wii U will get scrapped aswell. The funny thing is, the only memorable experience the Wii gave me that wouldn't have playable on another console was Twilight Princess. |

Pretty much the same here. Memorable experiences were Twilight Princess, MAYBE Mario Kart and Reflex, just because it was a totally different game to the other cods. |
